Westbrook needed 16 rebounds in the last game of the season to average a triple double for the 2nd straight year. He's never gotten 20 rebounds in a game in his career and the 1 game where he needs 16 rebounds to average a triple double he gets 20. Is that a coincidence? Am I the only 1 who thinks that's oddly suspicious ? Out of all the games to get 20 rebounds it so happens to be the 1 where needs 16 rebounds to average a triple double ? That's very suspicious it's like the NBA single handley helped him make history 🤔. Russel Westbrook averaged a triple double last year and won the MVP as the 6th seed congratulations Westbrook. This year his team is the 4th seed (better than 6) and again he averaged a triple double and he's not even nominated in the MVP race ? 🤔 very suspicious. Wait how can you be the runner up favorite to win MVP last year as the 6th seed averaging a triple double but not the runner up favorite this year as the 4th seed averaging a triple double ? That doesnt make any sense considering hes technically having a better year than his MVP year considering his team is the 4th seed ? Its like the NBA didnt even care what Westbrook did this year they ignored it they just moved on from him and were ready to shine the lights on somebody else regardless of what his numbers looked like. All of this evidence is showing how rigged the NBA is.

So when Lebron gets his ten points and sits to keep his record on the last game of the season its no biggie but when Westbrook gets his rebounds its stat padding. Aight Colin

I'm one of the biggest Lebron defenders in the world and I'll even admit you're dead on with this
@Rogue-Blue6 жыл бұрын
LUC well at least those are lebrons points not like he's stealing them from teammates unlike Westbrook stealing rebounds from teammates
@Rogue-Blue6 жыл бұрын
LUC Westbrook is selfish Adams over here with three rebounds while Westbrook has 20 or 16 lol if ur a good teammate you want everyone to eat at the table not steal it for ur own glory. Lonzo ball is a great rebounding point guard that gets legitimate rebounds not Westbrook.
@jasonk70036 жыл бұрын
not even remotely the same analogy.....Lebron can easily play the whole night and not hurt his teammates at all....Lebron only played 11 minutes it would be ludicrous for him to play 5 minutes of a game and then just quit. Westbrook is literally stealing rebounds from his teammates and leaving shooters early to try to get the rebound when he should be concentrating on defense and let his bigs worry about rebounds
@ContexClues6 жыл бұрын
Lebrons record is nowhere near the record that russ has accomplished. Plus the thing is that Lebron going for stats isnt as bad as russ since lebron is past his prime. Lebron has 4 mvps and 3 rings and is top 5 of all time. Russ has yet proven himself to be a winner. He has 0 rings, caused kd to leave and cant win with pg, adams, and melo.

Edward Cordova yeah u tellin me u don't want Russ starting the fastbreak or Melo and what about last night when as soon as LBJ fot 10 pts he sat for the rest of the night 🤷♂️🤔
@CulEdz6 жыл бұрын
Mike Williams there's a difference between "playing for 11 minutes for 10 points to say I played 92 games" and "stealing rebounds so I can average a triple double". Imagine if Russ got hurt for attempting to get a rebound. Imagine if he collided with a teammatee trying to get a rebound and they both get hurt. Harmless stat chasing is fine. Being reckless about it is not. If he wanted to average a triple double so bad, he should have had that mentality all season long, not just for the last 2 games. Also would have been a different story if they needed him to put up those stats as well, but he didn't. At all.
@mikewilliams65066 жыл бұрын

LeBron 3 time champion, 4 time mvp, and been to 7 straight finals. Lost kyrie and team had hella injuries plus trdaes. I'd want LeBron to have the ball in his hands. From 18 his avg was 20,5,and 5 rookie season and now it's 27,10,and 10. Imo both are doing it for they team cause they are they team. Don't let media opinions upset you. LeBron James is always compared but until anybody else in the league been dominate for 10 years plus and accomplished half of what he has then other stars will get passes. Imo OKC will heat up in the playoffs trust me.

Last year he led the lead in scoring while averaging a triple double on a mediocre TEAM & led them to the playoffs.... THIS YEAR his TEAM was expected to be way better than last year and they basically has the same record as last year THAT'S WHY he's not higher in the MVP race PERIOD
@isaac45806 жыл бұрын
Tonio5100 that’s part of it. The other part is the narrative has changed. MVP is given to stories. “It’s Harden’s time” is a narrative, Westbrook doing the same thing twice isn’t as flashy a story
@Tonio51006 жыл бұрын
Isaac the narrative hasn't changed tho.... What Westbrook did last year is WAY BETTER than what he doing this year PERIOD..... It's not "James Harden turn" it's James Harden is having a BETTER OVERALL SEASON than everyone else point blank period that's why he's getting MVP no other reason
@isaac45806 жыл бұрын
Tonio5100 disagree. The narrative has changed. Harden’s season has been really good, but so has AD’s and Lebron’s. The narrative is what helps Harden. It’s his turn, point blank. That’s the story.
@isaac45806 жыл бұрын
Bad Eye his team’s better than everyone else. Proof being that even without Harden they were really good. Small sample size but still. You’re not gonna compare Harden’s supporting cast to everyone else’s. Again, it’s the story. MVP always goes to the biggest story. Last year, Westbrook gets it cuz Durant left him, and it was a great story that he willed his team to the playoffs with an historic trip dub. This year, trip dubs don’t matter cuz it’s Harden’s time. That’s just the story.
@cbenji076 жыл бұрын

Ok ok let me say this first. I think Westbrook is a great player, one if my favorites and averaging a triple double 2 years in a row is a great accomplishment but! Considering how the game is played with spreading the floor with not too many legit big men/ centers blocking the lane to get rebounds I dont think it necessary means the player is so valuable that he automatically should be MVP. Also let's say you have one player that averages 20 to 25 points a night 10 rebounds 10 assists. Is he really soooo much more valuable then someone who averages 30 to 35 points 12 rebounds 6 assists? I thinks it's a great stat but doesn't necessarily means wins or most value

jeremiah greenwood again I'm not saying that him scoring a triple double is not valuable but that doesn't mean that its the only reason why they win nore does it mean that mean someone who doesn't score triple double is less valuable. The GOAT. We are blessed to even be able to see him. Scalabrine never got recognition because if he tried he would've had a quintuple double. Points assists rebounds, blocks and steals.

Stephen Jackson is comparing apples to oranges. The team didn't game plan for Stephen Jackson to get a triple-double. Jackson's teammates only went out of their way to help him get the 10th assist (not all 10). It was something he teammates focused on for just a 2-minute stretch IN ONE GAME. OKC's game plan has morphed into something designed to help Westbrook average a triple-double. It has become a season-long focus. Westbrook averaging a triple-double has become more important than winning. It's obvious that OKC big men are instructed to not fight for rebounds when Westbrook is in the area. They clear the way to make it easy for him to get rebounds so he can get triple-doubles. There is nothing organic about what OKC does for Westbrook. It's a sham.

If it’s organic or not you don’t have to like it or respect but you have to deal with it

Answer this then, what can happen if both players on the same team fight for the rebound and end up losing it????? Answer: the other team gets a chance for a free basket. Also why fight over a rebound thats secured by anyone once they clearly are capable of collecting it

Yes both are 4th seed but LeBron had no other all star, russ legitimately got melo and paul george and barely made the 4th seed. It's more than the triple double or excuses. Fact is OKC had a healthier team and better cast and Cavs had Only LeBron for all 82 and still the same record as last year with kyrie.

Like how Cowherd pretends tanking didn't exist when Stern was in charge. You want to GEF rid of tanking? Do away with the stupid draft lottery (which Stern implemented). That way you have three teams at the end of the year tanking rather than 12+ because they want to improve odds of getting higher pick in the lottery.
