Ok ok let me say this first. I think Westbrook is a great player, one if my favorites and averaging a triple double 2 years in a row is a great accomplishment but! Considering how the game is played with spreading the floor with not too many legit big men/ centers blocking the lane to get rebounds I dont think it necessary means the player is so valuable that he automatically should be MVP. Also let's say you have one player that averages 20 to 25 points a night 10 rebounds 10 assists. Is he really soooo much more valuable then someone who averages 30 to 35 points 12 rebounds 6 assists? OKC's game plan has morphed into something designed to help Westbrook average a triple-double. It has become a season-long focus. Westbrook averaging a triple-double has become more important than winning. It's obvious that OKC big men are instructed to not fight for rebounds when Westbrook is in the area. They clear the way to make it easy for him to get rebounds so he can get triple-doubles. There is nothing organic about what OKC does for Westbrook. It's a sham.
