Why do my favourite commentaries on this board all come from Brian Trenchard-Smith? Maybe 'cause the movies he reviews are so great.. and maybe his stories about working on some of them are even better!

I think this film used to be on heavy rotation on the Z Channel, back in the day. I remember watching it and finding it both disquieting and nearly incomprehensible back in the day. Thinking about the way Peter Weir worked with the aboriginal actors, I suspect this film has aged well.

Better than "Picnic" in my humble opinion. Three great characters perfectly cast: Gulpilil, Nanjiwarra and Chamberlain. Mesmerising. Great to see what almost amounts to a cameo by Fred Parslow too. Why don't we make films of this quality any more?

24/5/2023 italy Inhave see The Last Weve..today. 46 years old. 🤩🤩🤩 It’s a bit of a creepy movie. I greatly appreciated the interpretation of Chamberlain 💋and..that face and those eyes..Weir couldn’t have chosen a more valid actor. I loved the choise of colours grey-blue..de films that beautifully match the theme of the film. Thank you fir this video.

I object, your honor. As a Canadian I have to. Léolo is just one uniquely original Canadian film that I would pit against any movie made in the world.

Intelligent and cultured, the gentleman nonetheless completely avoids any element of the powerful and fascinating poetic and spiritual dimension. Intelligent as it is, it ends up being very dry
