Can you please tell me if working full-time and studying for a Ph.D. simultaneously is possible? I'm working in the hospitality sector and trying to pursue a Ph.D.; therefore, I'd like to know whether it's doable?

I'm trying to pursue this as well rn. the plan that I came up with is mapping out the day. my commute from work to research lab is 1.5 hours and drive home is another 0.5 hours. I work 8 hours, commute, 5 hours research, sleep at school. next day I research 5 hours, commute, work 8 hours, sleep at home. I make up research time on weekends with just a 8 hour day. imo it will probably run me ragged, so I intend on looking for more flexibility with my company on working remote to avoid the commute. I do electrical engineering, which doesn't always rely on working in a lab, so I may get away with remote phone meetings and working on documentation. However my company does defense work which is less secure for working remote, so they may not take that chance. Again, I don't know your field and how stressful it might be, but be prepared to meal prep like a MOFO ! I intend on making lunches and dinners ready to go for the work week I would lastly emphasize practicing healthy habits. drink at least a gallon a day of water and of course get 8 hours sleep. no social life however, because you should be using weekend evenings to meal prep for the next week
