I saw Brian the other night and he was absolutely fantastic. I must have caught him on a good night. He sang his heart out and thanked the crowd for the standing ovation. Legend!

🎤💥 My first Beach Boys Concert was 1974. In a 100 mile radius of my hometown of Cincy, Oh, I haven’t missed many concerts. Sometimes, 3 or 4 in a year. Spanning to 2018. This wonderful song has always been the encore. It is the band mid-westerns dream about. Surf, sun and fun. Now, life’s a little slower, sweeter and my ears maybe a damaged🤣, this version is greater than all the times I’ve heard you sing it. Can’t wait to hear this one live. Through the good, bad and ugly times of life over the past 50yrs, you have been there. Thank you. You are the master musician.

This is GREAT! Onstage his piano gets buried. You really can't hear him and you wonder if he's just playing so he can sing better, or some other reason. This right here proves he can really still play!!

I am truly amazed at how effectively the underlying character of this song is so vividly brought to light by a solo piano (albeit, with a few overdubs)! I didn’t think it was possible to appreciate this song any more than I already did. Absolutely love it !!!

Love it, and I hope you will do a whole series of these Brian. It's very helpful to us amateur piano players to be able to hear a legend like you on his own without anything getting lost in the mix behind a whole band. When I was first teaching myself piano I found a record by Professor Longhair playing all his hits alone with just a piano for a radio show and it was like a gift from heaven to figure out how to play his style authentically.

Wonder where the Turtles got their inspiration for "Elenore"... 😀😉 Awesome!!!
@thelunarlaugh24153 жыл бұрын
Actually, "Elenore" was them blatantly try to re-write "Happy Together" in response to their label pressuring them to make another single that sounded like "Happy Together". They intentionally wrote what they considered "dumb" lyrics for it. Ironically, it backfired and became a huge hit for them.

I like it, the most animated of the piano songs released to date. It is strange that the "clip" used Kodak 100TMX as it's "film" as that is a black and white only film.

I think Brian Wilson doesn't play the piano on this album, it seems to me a scam to intelligence and sensitivity, wanting us to believe that Brian in his state of mind took the time to practice on the piano those songs that he composed for the Beach Boys, stop post-truth !!!

There could be elements of both acoustic and midi keyboard. There are pictures of Brian recording the piano tracks on a baby grand, but maybe for the overdubs and melody there could be some midi in there for flexibility of tone, etc.
