For the lighthouse, could you insert a few black panels in the glass in the direction facing wild-west? A number of lighthouses have blank panels that face inland for the same reason that the lights don't direct their beam that way.
@broggii

Some type of diffusion screen might work, too. The light looks good from up close but shouldn’t affect the western area too much.

Or just have a light that’s angled slightly downwards and therefore won’t reach the wild west due to the distance :)

He could also change the clear garage door parts to maybe light gray. I think irl light houses have some sort of blocking to prevent the light from affecting the shoreline if it's on the shore.

I would put 3 out of 4 lights shining out from a cross, looking down, leaving the direction facing the Wild West free. Then pulse the lights to simulate turning, similar to modern warning lights on trucks with long/wide loads .

I've been looking forward to watching this all day and it truly did not disappoint. Seeing the city lit up for the first time made me gasp out loud. It's so stunning. It was also fun seeing the moon base which I don't think I've seen before. Looking forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the next year! Something I would love to see in regards to the lights (unless you've already implemented it): if the lights would turn on gradually as night gets closer. Like streetlights turning in all at the same time, then the windows would turn on randomly. Just to add that little bit of realism.

If you're looking to add to the blank space near the airport, you could do hangar bays for smaller privately owned planes. Maybe a flight school. You could even have one of the hangars include a mafia story, maybe the counterfeited money being exported.

a helipad on a tower complex, a hangar bay or three, a few cropdusters and a few light aircraft for private/flight school use, a small emergency services building containing medics, police, and fire. and also possibly add a military aircraft, and also a launch site. have a small water feature like many airports have (to possibly use as a water source for fires), and then have a aste recovery (dump) on the border of the empty space. and then it adds to the story. mafia getting rid of countefiet money, and those who asked too many questions, like a mouthy blonde news reporter. lol

I have a concept for the train layout: what if you have an underground train station for the airport and have the turning loop under the table? I don't know if it's possible but it would be pretty cool.
@ampelogardenboy
@ampelogardenboy Жыл бұрын
And it would also leave more room at the surface of the table for a modern city district, which blends nicely with underground metro stations. Because if it's going to be a modern city district it also needs room for some roads for cars. Maybe a police shootout inspired by "HEAT" (1995) that ties in to the mafia subplot. Who knows?

I point this out every video but it seems like he is not going to do that. Unfortunately, I may say. Also, he has space to complete a nice double-track between station 1 and 2 but the double-track will be used only for train storage...which I think it's a little bit of a delusion: I would have loved seeing trains passing each other between station 1 and 2 and waiting for their turn to pass outside of that. Also, having the line diverging under the mountain and the loop near the airport, you could simulate single-track operation on both directions. Unfortunately for train fans such as myself, I don't think the trains will be involved in some complicated sequence but only a loop with different trains every now and then.

Can’t wait to see the skate park! Not sure what you have in mind but I’d love to see what you could do regarding graffiti, especially on a non-flat surface, like a curving ramp. There could even be some things missing around the city (like parking barriers, signs, barrels, traffic cones) that skaters have stolen to skate on. Unsanctioned DIY skate parks have so much more character and history than municipal ones, and under a bridge is the perfect place!
@farmboy_____

Maybe you already know the reason so many skate parks pop up under bridges, but in case you don’t, there IS a good reason, underpasses usually have 45 degree uphill embankments, and sometimes banked or curved bases to the road support pillars, both of which are fun to skate

Excellent work. Couple ideas that occur to me as i watch this: 1. Since the story telling is such an important part, you could add a shuttle and launching platform in the city airport. This could tie the city to the moon base. Would also allow you to add something like a university to the city, where astronauts, biologists, and physicists are trained. 2. Since, as you point out, the majority of humans presence on the moon would be underground, you could build out a complex system underneath the surafce (table) of the moon surface. It would allow you to maximize the amount of detail in the smaller space, and it would represent a different type of build than the city / western town. 3. In the harbor, the lighthouse implies there are potentially dangerous rocks / channels. You could highlight this by adding a semi-expised wreck or hulk of an old ship. I think this would add a really interesting detail, and would let you play with angles in the build. Love your channel man.

A couple things. 1. I think having a car going in or out of the parking garage would help to highlight the garage and look good. 2. In the wild west moc, where the outlaws are breaking out the prisoner if you moved forward in time a little and actually showed the building breaking open it would look really cool and probably be fun to design.

You and your brother are doing amazing work! One thought I had was to create a "P" sign for the parking garage, because it gets lost in all the gray. I'm not sure if they have those kinds of signs where you live, but they are quite common where I live (near Seattle). It might add a bit of color and interest to that area, as well as help define that area a bit more. Also wondered if you were going to build a school, like near the bridge or something to tie in the basketball court, park, etc. Not that you need any suggestions from me! LOL! Everything you do is amazing! I'm a huge fan! Keep it up!

Man two things 1. For the airport you could place Lego city set 60022 which is a good cargo plane that would be a very cool detail to add or do something similar, you could even add some ground crew 2. Im quite new to the channel so i dont know if have adressed this before but the city needed a police station, because you have cops in the houses but dont have like a building dedicated to them which i think would add to the mafia story Love your videos keep it up

It would be great to someday see the river flow into the sea. Also, the place between the tram and the rocks where people jump into the water seems a little empty, maybe add a fence there? Regarding the airport, I like that you left tire tracks in the form of black parts embedded in the road, but look closely, the rear landing gear of the planes is much wider than the track you made. If you make it a little bigger and maybe more vague and less concentrated (more dark gray details over a larger width), you'll get a more natural gradient. There is a crazy idea (I will understand if it is not recognized) to make counterfeit money using counterfeit Lego parts (I mean, using a cheap analogue for counterfeits - is a real mafia crime!). I wish you success in 2024

I've just now found your channel and binge watched more than a couple of your videos. This. Is. Absolutely. Amazing. I can't imagine how long it has taken for you to get to the point you are now! The amount of details is incredible! While the video was going, I paused several times to look and see more, and try to find more hidden things. Beside the details, I of course looked carefully at the bigger builds and structures. The houses, in both parts of the city, are quite something. That technic you use with the roofs, I had heard about it and even seen some variations of it, however, that's only part of it. And this leads me to the overall design of the buildings etc. Very realistic! Also, a big fan of the train, and the airport is coming along nicely! I've done my fair share of building, though, have been on a longer break due regular to day-to-day stuff. But in recent weeks some of those annoying things have been finished or done, so I'm feeling the pull to start building again. In saying this, I think watching your videos have helped me reignite that spark within me. So thank you for that! I also want to thank you for explaining in past videos where you get the bricks and pieces from. Will need to take a look at those sources! I've also taken some extra care with observing certain things in your videos and I think I'm going to try some in my own projects. Like that wheat field, that's quite ingenious! While watching your videos, one question has started to nag me. Legos are notorious for getting dusty (like, normal dust). How do you combat this? Also, I'm loving the story element in the big city. But. Where's the police??? Is there even a police station or something??? Can't wait for what's going to be added or modified next!

Love your videos. Seeing the traffic lights change gave me an idea for future lights inside houses/buildings. Basically recreate real life. At the beginning of the night lights in commercial buildings are on, people are shopping and working. Then later the lights on the ground/living floor in houses come on. Then commercial lights go off. people are done with work, and are eating/relaxing Then the bedroom lights turn on and the living room lights turn off, people are going to bed and eventually those lights go off And then the reverse in the morning Bedroom on > living room on, bedroom off > commercial on, living room off > commercial off (its light ouside) Ofcourse this would not be needed in every building, but i think it would be very cool

This is the most amazing Lego project I have ever seen and I have some ideas I woud love you to read: 1. I think the thieves coming to rob the mine in the wild west should be right under the barrels. 2. It would be very cool if you built a rocket launch pad in your Lego city too, somewhere in the empty space next to the airpor. 3. I think you should put a train station right next to the terminal like there are in many airports around the world to make it more convenient for tourists and residents to move around the city. Edit: I didn't copy the idea of rocket luanch pad near the air port, I just now saw the other comments that also suggested the idea

Although am late i have a very special idea. Would be really nice to add a lower wooden platform under the airport and the unbuilt third station and built a subway/metro line with its own little train that runs under the city. It will add a connection to the airport while also looking like the city has an extensive transportation network. Passengers can theoretically take the train from the city to the unbuilt third station and tranfer over to the metro to go the airport. Also, integrating the unbuilt station with a metro station below with a staircase will definetly make the third station the most interesting one of them all as it will become a major transportation hub for the city.

I've been a steady and amazed follower of your work, I love it!! :) But it's only in this video I've noticed a huge structural problem with your bridge. You can see it at 2:15 for example: there is an important lateral offset between the upper part (above the deck) and the lower part (under the deck) of the central pillars, the ones which redirect the cable constraints towards the foundations. This is very, very bad ^^' Your bridge would collapse immediately in real life, the pillars have to be straight from top to foundations to take the compression efforts. Source? Structural engineering is what I've studied, my engineering school was litteraly named "Bridges and roads" x) Look up the Brooklyn bridge for example, it's the most famous bridge of this type (masonry + suspension).

Your city is looking so awesome! My favourite parts are the natural ones. Your rock work is very realistic and I love how you pay such attention to detail with your vegetation. Another favourite part is the harbour. That courtyard you have with all the light grey circular tiles looks really good. I look forward to seeing how you add in the farm. Thanks for the overview.

Amazing, very beautiful and detailed. I love how you gave it realism and beauty to every area, it reminded me visiting Lisbon, Biarritz or Rennes. Also everything is done in a very elaborated way and I appreciate how complex all the diagonal and curved shapes are to build with LEGO. Great work and will follow your projects. ❤

It is absolutely refreshing and wonderful eye-candy to see a LEGO City WITHOUT any LEGO modulars or typical LEGO sets! Bravo! Love this channel! 💯🙌💙

Amazing video as always Maybe you should consider adding a big stadium in the LEGO city, with hundreds of seats and flashy lights- somewhere between the rural area and the airport. It's a megaproject, but it will be stunning to see.

You should put Lego birds on the roof of the weed plantation, birds often flock to weed plantation roofs because of the heat they produce

Really love the story about the mafia printing counterfeit banknotes. I'm curious, is there an investigation underway? Are all policemen corrupt? it would be nice to see undercover policemen or agents with binoculars hiding and spying from the buildings next door. I must say that the result so far is really beautiful, all the elements and constructions are well harmonized with each other. good job!!

Couple of things to note: - Be careful with the Lighthouse, if its bright enough to cause issues for the Wild West section, it may be too bright for a display for the public, especially for children on eye level - The boat currently in the harbour looks like its sitting very high in the water, you may need to take off some of the bottom part - Maybe consider having angled mirrors positioned above your displays so people can see the further back/hidden parts, it will also help those who are smaller or standing further back - Also a much harder but cool suggestion, maybe have a screen showing a POV video of the trainline thats sync'd up with the trains.

You mentioned including a ruined castle. I recommend keeping the ruins part to a minimum and have the castle turned into a well maintained museum. It might allow you to include exhibits that tell the story of the historical city of the past.

Looks really nice! Little correction: at 13:00, the runway numbers are always read as single digits. So in your case they would be "Runway three three" and "Runway one five"
@stenskott-TS

But the numbers don't make sense, right? 33 and 15 adds up to 48, not 36.... is there a piece of storytelling i don't get here?
@MahBor
@MahBor Жыл бұрын
@@stenskott-TS they’re based on the heading of the runway in real life. So 33 is 325° to 334° and the opposite of it is runway 15 which is around 145° to 154° in real life. His last video on the airport shows this well

I am building a LEGO layout myself and I love your videos, they are so inspiring. Your city is huge and I'd love to build mine on the same scale as yours but I've got one big question. HOW DO YOU GET RID OF THE DUST? I can only imagine how much time it takes you to clean all the dust that sits on every stud of every brick. Do you have any tips how to solve the dust problem? I'd love to hear some. Anyway keep up the work my brother!

Utterly brilliant! Just for an idea, at the very end...when that window may be...maybe pop a mini camera on the front of the train, so you can too see the result with a train in action. That would be wild to see all of your hard work! Looking fwd to the airport to be continuing! Jazzy.
