This was my first bike at 14 years old in 1972. It had 3k miles on it, was in perfect shape , had not run for 5 years with the old gas (turpentine) still in it. I got it running and rode it all over Upper Saddle River NJ at 14. Never got caught. I paid $75 for it from my paper route, all I had. Still in my heart. Anyway I totally agree with you brother.

Nice video! Just a remark: at 27:35 is mentioned 'one set of points because of wasted spark'. Indeed it has "wasted spark" as it would have if one set of points would be at the crankshaft. In this case it is at the camshaft and therefore, to have a spark at each revolution of the crankshaft, there are two lobes, 180 degrees apart from each other. I did have the same in my CB200 in 1977.

There was a CA160 which came out around 65 / 66. You are correct in so far as it would have been the single carb version of the 160 engine. I have a CA95 and a CA160. The observation I have made here is that whoever did that conversion has chopped the frame to get the carbs in.. which wont do the frame strength any favours.

The frame will be fine as it would have to literally rip the head off the engine to deflect any. Luckily we just plan to do some neighborhood cruises and no jumps!

With all the advancements & better parts I don't doubt some of these bikes can be made into a beast mode bike! Even if you don't restore the bike to original they offer a great leap over to a Cafe Style Bike. That's where your artful eyes meet w/ mechanical skills to make it into that. I know you've got those skillsets so I'm here watching. I may buy one yet? peace

My first bike ever was a Honda CG-125, originally built for the S. American market. Man, I loved that thing. Everything was simple: points, plugs, a carb . . .
@diggy-d8w3 күн бұрын
Today's Honda 150L dual sport got here from 20 yrs in Asian/S.American Nations..... I'm not a mechanic but you're right about them being simpler. That's why guys like me could correct some issues but today's stuff - just having the electronics keeps my from messing w/ them. Old bikes were hard parts w/ a spark plug/battery & CDI but all that plus "Sensors" are riddled within newer bikes, any one of those sensors failing can be the end. I like OLD & this channel shows them. I only hope I find me one to ride again. be safe

My dad had one that looks just like this, but is a 90cc I believe. It's in their basement and has around 2200 miles on it.
I know I am always the odd wheel here being weird and Autistic and OLD but might want to check the VIN in the international database ( You''ll have to do a search... it's been a minute) because you just "might' have a jewel. Like a diamond! I can't remember how many of this model were 1\4 year cut off models but, there aren't many. I saw one VERY similar fetch 51,000 dollars in Daytona at 1991 bike week auction. I'm not up on whether they still have the event but, it used to be epic every year. A friend from New York yanked about 12,000 for his '68 160cc. Incredible! Nice job, nice bike!
