In this video we are Bricking and blocking up a front door using 73mm rustic antiques with a 50mm cavity, we also plasterboard the inside and plastered ready to be used for a storage cupboard.
This job took 2 days over a weekend.
This video doesn't show me laying the blocks as I thought this would make to long of a video.

Hello. Thank you for video. I have tree entrances to the kitchen and I want to block one of them, external. My problem is not how brick it up, but what premissions do I need and who should I contact? I can brick up the doorway myself. UK.

I would have toothed out other side and used two three quarter batts each course but not a criticism as good content and each to our own ways, subscribed 👍

What do you use to hold the string line in place on the bricks?

I use twist nails which you can hammer into mortar joint!

Where’s there’s no cavity I always put a 450 tray on the first course of blocks down to the brickwork . Good work though

It's nice and neat son fair play but I personally would have toothed out both sides you wouldn't notice a three quarter bat or two .

I'd have used a drill to get those three half bats out I think . It is fiddly mind and if they were happy with the job that's all you can ask . I've been at it a few months longer than you I started in 1970 😂 there's nothing wrong with your work fella 👍it wasn't a criticism that wasn't my intention 👍

Unscrew the box around the meter. It would be super fiddly and added a lot of time but perfection comes at a price your work is good and I like the videos keep it up mate I’m going to use this video for the lad coming to brick up my back door
