I’ve had seven guys out to quote in Gosforth and was told that bricking up a doorway and putting in a window was, and I quote: “too much labour”. After using Stu’s vids to renovate the first floor brickwork of the same property I think I might have a go at this...what could go wrong? 😄

Hi stu, am building at my own house just finished the gable today it's facing brick and just wondered your opinion on the guys who say they can lay 1000 facers a day I reckon on average I'm about 5 to 6 hundred what about you.
@Stucrompton17 жыл бұрын
same as you mate, 500 correctly laid brick are better than 1000 tip and run joint roughly finished :)

Enjoy watching your videos, you're a good trowel. They're horrible bricks to lay but you did a good job, just one question.. How come you didn't use dpc under the window cill? Is there a need for it or no

While I realize everyone has their own reasons, I never understood the logic of bricking up a door. If you don't need that door, then just use it as a wall and the door can serve almost just as effectively as a window.
