Great video and top work. Laugh - do the scaffies mentally survey buildings before they rest poles on. Think the windows and door frame did a great job holding that porch together. Interesting you happily use the Bell mixer without the stand - I must have been doing it wrong all those years 😂. Seriously I knew somebody injured by a stand, so they aren't foolproof. Perhaps a few handy scrap blocks on side might be a compromise if the geometry would work. Look forward to the next installment.

Cheers John the porch demolition was an afterthought and there were 6 screws in the whole porch . I’ve never liked the stands to honest. We have a particularly nasty troll who keeps giving us grief about it 🙄. 🧱👍🏽

That portch was an accident waiting to happen. Even if they had knocked a few galvanised nails into the wall just to tie them both together.The footings, or should i say lack of footings, was an absolute joke too, I'm sure it will be a fantastic job when you've finished it. Steve I just had to pause this. I downloaded the PDF from my local council and emailed them and they confirmed, to be exempt from planning and building regs the following has to be adhered to: Less than 3 square meters floor area, measured from external walls. Less than 3 meters in height. More than 2 meters away from the public highway. Must keep external door cannot switch to internal door. If they are followed no planning or building regs required, this is stated in the pdf under porches section. And had this confirmed from them also. I'm starting a porch job in few weeks. 👍👍👍 That was shocking, am I seeing/hearing right: No foundation No wall ties No dpc No wall starters Edit, no sub base for floor! Edit, laying on top of pipe ! Unbelievable in utter shock! 😳 Also am I right in saying I didn't see and lintel over door or windows or did I miss them?

The original part of that house is very likely sat on dirt, these properties are incredibly tricky to price, old render is a clue to the problems you're likely to uncover, strong render is a hard shell, holding it together 😂 gotta laugh though, it all starts going bad from the first bodged job,and customer hasn't the money to have it done correctly 😢. 👍🧱
