As someone who just loaded up Studio for the first time, I can tell you the clone tool is no longer the default when placing bricks. You have to turn it on in preferences.

You have saved the day and lowered my blood pressure. I have subscribed and will certainly check out your other videos. Happy building everyone.

Great tutorial. It's been a while since I hopped on to Studio so this was a nice refresher. One thing I've noticed is that Studio has changed since my last time using it. Previously, the parts list showed up at the bottom of the screen and it looks like this "option" or set up is no longer available. I'll be sure to check out the other tutorials. Thanks Boone.

Thanks for watching! I bought the drawers from Walmart.com. HomeDepot.com also has a similarly competitive price. If those sites do not serve your area, you could search for “Sterilite Wide 3 Drawer Unit.” They come in sets of three drawers, so I removed the lids from most of them and the bottom of one will click together with the top of another. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for a great introduction. At 3:25, when you go to select a specific brick from the icons they move slowly. Is this because you're using a mouse? Using a laptop touch pad is incredibly sensitive and they just speed by. It's almost impossible to select a brick. Please do you know if there is a way adjusting the scroll speed/sensitivity in Studio? I imagine that quite a lot of viewers use laptops, so it might be a handy hint to include in future video.

I had the same problem. I'm new to this but it looks like he created a custom "palette" called "Master" before creating this video. It probably made it easier for him to find parts for his video but it's confusing for us novice's trying to follow along. I'm getting past this obstacle by selecting "Main" and then "Shapes". Unfortunately, that presents many more bricks than his "Master" palette but will cope.

In my dropdown window, I can only see "Main", "New Parts", "ADP Palette Archived", "+ Add Palette" and "Config". How can I get "Master" to get all bricks available?
@debrashannon5964
@debrashannon5964 6 ай бұрын
I had the same question. It looks like "Master" is a custom palette that he created before recording the video, which is unfortunate. To get past this obstacle, select Main and then Shapes. You'll see a much longer list of bricks (I see 733 vs only 34 in this video) but will try to follow along anyway. If he ever re-records this video, I hope he doesn't start by assuming that we have the same custom palette that he has.

I must be doing something wrong with the clone tool. After placing a cloned piece I hit escape to prevent the cloning function from creating any more clones. I don't seem to know how to deselect the piece and move on. If I hit escape a second time the piece disappears. If I don't hit escape that second time the piece blasts out of place when I move the mouse. What am I missing?
@BooneBuilds
@BooneBuilds Жыл бұрын
Try securing the placement of the piece where you want it with a LEFT MOUSE CLICK, then press escape to let the second one disappear. Basically, you have to confirm the placement of the newly cloned piece with the mouse click before pressing escape. Does that make sense? Try it and let me know if it works for you.

I'm learning basics still, anyone help with a small thing? He says that when you're placing anything it's essentially like having the clone tool, you can place as many as you want as 'default'.
