I don't know why many KZbin channels keep claiming India is a "US ally". India is not anyone's "ally". If anything India's foreign policy is essentially neutral and multi pronged. BRICS wants to build a new currency. It is also worth noting that gold has historically been used as a store of value and a means of exchange, and some countries still hold significant amounts of gold in their reserves. However, it is unclear how a new currency backed by gold would function in the current global financial system and whether it would gain widespread acceptance. Ultimately, any decision to create a new currency would be subiect to numerous economic, political, and logistical considerations.
@Peterl42904 ай бұрын
It's interesting to learn more about the discussions and proposals around BRICS nations and their potential use of gold. There are several reasons why people may choose to buy gold, including its historical use as a store of value and means of exchange, its potential as a hedge against inflation or currency devaluation, and its relative scarcity compared to other commodities. Additionally, gold can offer diversification benefits to investment portfolios, as it tends to have a low correlation with other asset classes like stocks and bonds. However, it's important to note that investing in gold carries risks and may not be suitable for evervone. and investors should carefully consider their investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial situation before making any decisions.

Investing in gold is a reliable choice, and I plan to keep buying more to make up for my losses. While silver is also a good investment, my collectibles are not as similar. @randygraham9264 ай бұрын
No, that's an overgeneralization and irrational. Are you going to dump your digital computer or your digital phone? The problem is destroying physical currency at the same time as creating digital alternatives. Countries are buying gold -- a physical asset -- and that will work in conjunction with digital currencies. Digital is inevitable so the intelligent thing to do is employ it where it makes sense. CBDC is perfect for cross border transactions and speeding up trade. Also, evading the dollar as reserve currency of the world. So you can tear your hair out but nations are going to use it. But they must not destroy physical alternatives in case of breakdowns in the digital world -- such as Crowdstrike disaster or a Carrington event that wipes out electronics.

Very simple. Let all the BRICS countries deal only with China and Russia. We can save our money that we normally send to them and help our own country. We can also stop much of the silly trade deals with them as they will not have dollars to pay is for our imports and they do not want our dollars for their exports. Time to make some new deals. Let's see how long they can operate on the Yuan and the Ruble. Nothing to worry about folk. The big worry is the cashless society that is being forced on our societies.
@Praveen19919174 ай бұрын
You really think too much of the West power, don't you? 🤣😂🤣 So silly you think as such when the reality is quite opposite. The European countries thought the same when they banned Russian oil and thought they wouldn't survive without the Euros from the EU. Guess what? India single-handedly replaced the entire EU oil market on its own by increasing the oil imports by 1800% compared to the previous year and today Russia moved into the high income country. This didn't happen when Russia was supplying not just oil but also has, which wasn't the case with India. As they said, there's a lot of scope to import and export between both countries. It's a pity that they are involved only in defence, and not in any other sectors so far till date. India will greatly benefit from the Russian trade in the future.

A world where countries work together with respect for each other for the benefit of all is a foreign concept for the West where economies are driven by the supply of arms and destroying other countries. If they don't wake up and smell the coffee they'll be outdated and irrelevant. The majority of the world wants peace and prosperity.

One of the reasons the dollar is the world reserve currency is because everything is valued in dollars. When speaking of oil traded worldwide, instead of using dollars one could use barrels of oil. The same applies to all other commodity transactions. As a matter of fact, today's energy cost to extract a barrel of oil is between 4 and 6 barrels of oil, compare that to the cost a few decades ago which was a small fraction of a barrel, and a new perspective emerges!!

Hi Cyrus, you should look into the US CPI using Owner Equivalent Rent instead of direct measurements like Canada (or US pre-1990) If using a direct measurement methodology for housing, the US inflation would have been 3-4% higher, which would put the US in a 3-year long negative growth recession - amongst the worst of recent history.
