This video couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I’m a June 2024 bride planning to do my own makeup. Today I have my bridal hair trial and I was planning to do a trial of my makeup this morning!! Nikki- ever since I’ve decided to do my own makeup I’ve been binge watching your videos. I’ve learned SO much from you and I’m so grateful for all of your amazing tips, tricks and expertise. I know you have a million video ideas lined up so no pressure at all, but if you had time to squeeze an updated bridal tutorial- even during a live with Nikki, that would be so amazing. Full transparency, I was planning to have your bridal makeup tutorial with Susan Yara playing the morning of my wedding day to follow along and make sure I wasn’t missing any steps 🥹 again, thank you so much 💗 I will be a forever fan of your content.

I second the suggestion to get a massage the day before if you can possibly make happen. Anytime you have a big event coming, like your child’s wedding even, get a massage 💆🏻 the day before. Hi, Nikki! Your dos and don'ts are so good I wish someone told me some of them 20 years ago, when I got married! I couldn't help thinking about something that happened during my graduation, and although it has nothing to do specifically with makeup, perhaps it would help if you added this tip: DO EAT just before having your makeup done, specially in hot environements! I had a night graduation party during the summer here in Brazil, and I was so overwhelmed with the preparations that I forgot to eat; you see, my pressure went down and I fainted while waltzing with my father - it was so embarassing!!! Of course I learned my lesson and I ate properly before my makeup for the wedding!! I hope others can benefir from this DO! 🥰🥰

I got married in 1968 and things were so much more simple. No phone distractions. Yea! I did my own makeup and hair. Most brides did and it was the real us. Weddings now are too over the top and expensive. It is crazy the amount of money that to me is flushed down the toilet on weddings. Spend that money wiser as in a place to live. This is just my opinion.

@@julianneeaker8738 people have different opinions on what’s important on their big day. I’m a bridal stylist so I’ll be doing my own hair & makeup, but for people that aren’t good at it & want to look & feel their best on one of the most important days of their lives isn’t a waste of money. Furthermore, back then, a lot of vendors included things like set up & tear down with their services but note they charge for every little thing. So brides that are on more of a budget will need to delegate more or do it themselves which creates more stress. It’s really a case by case basis.

As a pale person who got sunburnt as a bridesmaid at an outdoor wedding because I didn’t reapply my sunscreen throughout the day - please wear sunscreen if you’re fair and will be outside at all. Please reapply if you’ll be outside a lot. But definitely wear a chemical one and take the time to test it in photos and test your reapplication over makeup!!!

I wore spf 50 and still burnt because I didn’t want to ruin my makeup. I don’t burn as easy as some people, most days I would’ve been perfectly fine but it happened to be an especially harsh day and you don’t get to choose the UV rating. Most fair people burn even easier than me so please be careful and don’t get sunburnt on your wedding day!

As a bridal hairstylist planning for my wedding next year, THANK YOU! I work with so many great MUA’s but I’m ridiculously picky & want to do it myself & this is gold! Also, so right about the sharing space 😅 It’s such a pain when I have to set up my irons, pins, products, etc & the MUA gets there first & takes up the ONLY table available 😂 so I now bring my own table!

I wish I had seen this video last year as I was doing my one bridal makeup. I looked for tons of video tutorials, I also went to get some tips from a MUA at a department store, but she ended up doing something completely different from my initial idea. I bought some high end makeup but the wedding day my skin was super dry and no amount of moisture would fix it which meant some patchiness on my makeup. This video is a 100% instructive and informative for any bride. Thank you for sharing, I would have done on my makeup application 😆.

Nikki, I found you at the end of last year right as I began wedding planning. You have been such a joy to watch and so helpful! We have similar complexions with skin tone and oily skin, which is much more rare than I expected, so your tips go a long way for me. The wedding stuff is really stressful, but you bring a relaxing energy to all of your videos that I am so grateful for. I appreciate this video a lot. Hiring a makeup artist is too complicated for my wedding situation, so I am doing it myself. Want to learn as much as I can beforehand. Been testing out so many looks and products this year. The base for oily skin is what intimidates me the most since we are planning for June. I would love a part 2, or any bridal content in general, I'm gonna be on it! Thank you! I also found it funny you shared you're a Capricorn that doesn't ask for help - ever. My mom is a Capricorn, same thing about her, and being raised by her, I don't ask for help either. Tip noted!!

Nikki, what a GREAT video for brides!! I planned my hair and makeup trial the morning of my bridal shower and I’m so happy I did it that way. Two of my best friends are also my hair stylist and makeup artist so they both had great tips for me. I had a large bridal party. I was already very emotional my dad passed away unexpectedly a month before my wedding. My mom was so great at recommending that I get my hair and makeup done by myself in the bridal suite. I didn’t need anymore emotional situations than I already was going through. My mom god bless her 💜 she was my rock that day. As a suggestion I don’t think a bride should have Botox or filler done a week or two before their wedding. I know that I bruise so I did mine a month before my wedding. I had a bridesmaid that did hers a few days prior and she had a pretty large bruise around her eye area and lip area and that doesn’t help the makeup artist at all! A few weeks before my wedding day I had two big pimples that just popped up. I made an appointment with my dermatologist and he injected them with cortisone and they were gone by day 2. I also chose not to wear SPF on my wedding day. I have 3 weddings in June, two of them I’m in the bridal party and I’ll be having them watch your awesome video! Do you think you could squeeze in an updated Wedding Day makeup tutorial? Always love your videos Nikki ☺️

I think a video using a mature subject on some dos and don’ts in skin prep with a variety of skin needs would be helpful to me. I have very good skin overall for someone who is 64, but my skin has different needs. I have major dryness by my mouth and under my eyes but my t-zone is a bit oily and everywhere else I’m normal. I really could use your insight on what is best in my skin prep. Which specific items should I use on my skin before my sunscreen? What would be too much? I’d greatly appreciate your advice…💕

I'm going to have my wedding at june '25 and I never really wear makeup. Only eyes (shadow, liner, mascara) and lips (lipstick). This when I have a party or event or something. Normally nothing at all. Today I bought foundation, powder and blush just to try it out, last time I used these kind of products was about 10 years ago. I love the look and I hope an artist can make a look for me that suits me. I'm not really used to doing these kind of things
