It took over a year for my wedding dress to be delivered and another year to finish alterations, so I'm glad I had a long engagement. If I had only had a year timeline, i wouldnt have had a dress. I also wanted to spread my payments across a longer period of time so I could have the wedding I wanted without sacrificing my financial stability.

Im size 17 in Japan. But I’ve been in that situation that I feel bad about how big my body just because they don’t have my size which in average Japanese have small body. It’s only a simple word out of the staff mouth, she said “I’m so sorry, I only can show you 1 dress because we don’t have another option for your size.”, even the dress that they put on was like almost ripped cuz I heard a ripped fabric. It really made me feel bad, like it was my fault to have a big body not have an average Japanese women body. Until I found a store that have affordable price also the staff really nice on me. She gave me some dress that she taught will be fit on my figure. She even gave me a lot of option that I can pick and she said that they can put whatever dress that I want to try on. They gave me a lot of time to put some alterations with bolero or any topper that can make me feel comfortable with which part that I want to show, how much skin I want to reveal. No matter how beautiful the dress is, if the staff can’t treat all the customer nice, with common sense as human being, all the dress that they have doesn’t looks as gorgeous as it was supposed to be seen.

I completely understand trying on things way in advance. It takes time to find THE dress. But, buying it 3 years in advance??? What if she loses weight? What if she gains weight??

"Buying a dress" rather means ordering a dress in advance. Wedding dresses are sewn a few months before the wedding date and just before that, the measurements of the future bride are collected. It even happens that up to 1-3 months before the wedding you can contact the salon about a small change in the size of the dress. This was also the case with me, because I lost a lot of weight a month before the wedding.

The problem is that Jo and Al don't even have that shop anymore. Three years is a long time, and dress shops close. Since all of these are reruns, IDK what year all these were filmed. But I hope Jo and Al still had the shop when she returned. Otherwise, she'd have to start all over again.

Being a full figure girl I love this show and watching Jo and Al help these brides feel stunning and beautiful like they should! Women on the thin side I believe have a much easier time finding wedding dresses. When ur a thick girl it's much harder to find what u want and have it flatter your figure. If I ever get married I would love to visit Jo and Al to help me find my perfect dress!

I know, three years! I could have lost and gained weight several times by then. It's just madness. In fact, three years in advance I'd probably still be convinced that I'd be a lot slimmer by the time the wedding came round (whether it actually happened in the end or not!) and therefore would not be in the frame of mind to buy a dress too soon.
