Pen's dad sucked and her mom and sisters have been shown to treat her like shit, so her not sparing her family isn't all that shocking tbh. They're not a tight-knit supportive family like the Bridgertons. Edit: As for Marina, due to the time period I think this was the best outcome someone in her situation could get. She got married to a young man who she didn't have to scam, he went into this willingly, and as he is her kid's uncle he will likely have an extra level of investment in her kid that some old creep or guy who was tricked into the marriage would not have. She also doesn't have to live with the stress of him one day finding out the kid is not his, as he already knows the whole story.

The books didn't reveal who Whistledown was until much later. I think they did it sooner because people who only watch the show could easily have found out with a simple google search. Whistledown also is a much smaller plotline in the books.

I didn't even realize til just now what they meant at the end about naming the baby with a name that begins with A as tradition. All the Bridgetons were given names in ABC order: Anthony, Benedict, Collin, Daphne, Eloise, Franchesca, Gregory and Hyacinth.

I think it’s really adorable that you guys think Penelope could just travel with Colin for months at a time. In the regency era, women couldn’t be alone in a room with a man without causing a scandal and potentially being forced to marry, Penelope never could’ve travelled with Colin. There’s a joke among Polin (Penelope and Colin) fans that they can get away with a lot of inappropriate behaviour, like writing letters to each other, because no one pays attention to them, but they definitely would’ve noticed them travelling together.

This season was great. I really loved all of the conflicts involved and the progression of Simon and Daphne's relationship. And yes, Penelope's reasons for becoming Whistledown will be revealed as each episode unfolds. You'll see why. Season 2 was absolutely amazing! Anthony pulled on our heartstrings and seduced us all lol 🤣. As always, I loved your reactions to this season. Can't wait to see your reactions to season 2! ❤

I haven’t liked Marina for most of season 1 but I can understand her initially turning down Philip. She just found out that the man she loves is dead and she thinks she’s no longer pregnant so there’s no reason to marry a stranger. She just wants to return home, take the time to mourn George, and then hopefully try and find love again in the country where her scandal may not be known, or after enough time has passed when people will have forgotten about it.

I really don't like Season 2 at all... I tried to go back and watch it again to see what others liked about it, but I couldn't even get through it the second time. But I know it's just personal preference, so I hope you guys like it as much as some others do. I personally probably won't be watching many of those reactions, but I can't wait for you to get to Queen Charlotte and Season 3!
