I love Nicola so much and above all I love her honesty about her struggle along the way to Netflix fame in 'Bridgerton' and 'Derry Girls.' In the episode Nicola opens up about moving back in with her parents in Ireland from London at 28 years-old where she 'didn't even have enough money to go for coffee with a friend' and how the experience left her feeling lonely, isolated and having negative thoughts about herself.
What Nicola says about success, failure and pulling yourself out of a negative time is so relatable, so I hope you find some strength in her words if you are struggling right now.

There is that strange little feeling of belief in yourself that tells you that you are going to make it. You just have to pick yourself up and try again. This industry will eat you up. Yo tengo 43 años, ya tengo mi vida hecha, pero los/las jóvenes que estàn levantandose ahora pueden aprender mucho de ella y de sus experiencias, entender que la vida no es lineal y tiene altas y bajas y que hay que enfrentarlo todo y seguir sin importar la prueba que la vida te impone. she's sweet, but most people don't have family and friends who are supportive when it comes to becoming an artist. MOST people dont and in that case, it's crucial and a necessary evil to be sort of isolated and stop listening to them.
