My snow blower started surging as I’m getting it ready for winter. I’ve replaced the fuel, removed the carburetor and cleaned all the fuel passages and the motor is still surging. I’ve repeated all the steps for about 6 times. Engine still surging! I was 100% sure I was missing something. After a few videos on YT your ms was the only one showing to pull that black plug beneath the idle rpm screw! I thought it’s just a plug or a seal!!! Sure thing it was gummed up! Thanks bro! You maid my day!

I've got two of these units and had to, using a zip tie, secure the spark plug wire away from the valve cover on both. When they run and vibrate the wire will turn on the plug and find its way over to arc on the valve cover and foul the plug. Aggravating.

Just saw this video. Can you tell me what the valve lash specs are for the Briggs and Stratton 205cc 900 snow series motor?? I'm not finding them. This motor is on a 22"MTD BRUTE snowblower. By the way, it has an electric starter that only hums, not spin and start. Any ideas on a fix?? Starter is buried in the cowling of the blower, toward the front. I'll send a few$$ your way like usual if you could help out. Thanks.
@IndRepairАй бұрын
The valve specs if a 12000 series engine are .004" - .006" Intake and 009" - .011" Exhaust
@IndRepairАй бұрын
The pull cord spins the engine freely without issue? If so you may need to free up the starter shaft or possibly replace the brush assembly to repair it
@JuniorGoCubs11 ай бұрын
Thanks! Needed help taking it apart. Mine is leaking while it’s off. And the whole gas tank emptied out. Is that the same issue or something different?

Great video. My cousin has one of these he left it over winter. When u push the prime bubble it doesn't suck gas in. Can that be because of the carb. It was in the garage looks nice😂but don't start. I did alittle homework they disconnected these models the spinning teeth I. The front are metal not rubber. I told him not to throw it out. U think it can be fixed? Thanks
@IndRepair7 ай бұрын
I would say probably a carburetor issue like most of them. If it starts on starting fluid then dies out, you found the issue

Great tutorial. I followed the video step by step and the blower started right up. Only problem is, the blower sputters and I have to leave the choke between closed and open. Otherwise, it dies.
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
I would take it apart again and make sure all the jets are 100 percent clean and confirm the gaskets are in good shape. It is still partially clogged, has an air leak at one of the gaskets or the fuel is a bad quality. Thanks for watching!

What is the point to having a key on a snowblower? It seems like it would be more of an annoyance than anything else. It isn’t like people would fire it up to steal it.

great video, l have the exact one (except my paddles have the metal pieces built in). Now l know the choke just pops off. My belt still hangs up/binds on the paddle pulley, it seems that pulley needs to be about 3/16 out from it's position to keep it ON that **&# pulley
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
We have a video on this similar mod3l at kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZbKhH-rmLeDbqM I am not sure what you mean by needs to be in a different place for the belt to be on
@kevinkornman Жыл бұрын
I put the new belt on and when it's running it tends to want to move to the outside of the paddle gear and at times gets in a bind between the paddle pulley and the surrounding case, l pop the outer cover off and it's starting to be a pain. Maybe moving the paddle pulley a little will help keep the belt from sliding off, or maybe bend the little tab(s) on the drive pulley and the tensioner one...l dunno @@IndRepair
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
@@kevinkornman Everything should line up perfectly, if not in line it will walk itself off the pulleys. check that and tension first for sure

Mine starts but goes like wide open throttle. Sounds like it will overrev till it destroys itself if I don't shut it down quick. Maybe just a gummed up throttle stuck wide open, but without removing covers I can't see what's in there.
@IndRepair23 күн бұрын
Definitely sounds like that could be the issue just pop the top know off and the two screws to inspect
@johnd927923 күн бұрын
@@IndRepair Slowed down and stopped the video until I got a good look at what I was gonna see in there. Just took the top off. Throttle was really stuck. It took some force to get it to start to move. Kept spraying it and working it till it freed up. Didn't want to take the carb off. Too late at night to start it. Neighbor plowed my snow so I got no snow to blow. Should be ok. Was new in 2022. Had last years gas still in it. I'm lucky it stated at all.
