All these videos of organizing a phenomenal pantry are nice. But the fact is most people do not have a small room that's designated as a pantry. What about us that just have kitchen that won't hold a dozen canisters, etc.? That's the real challenge - in my cabinets the storage containers would eat up most of the space.
@aesyamazeli88042 жыл бұрын
If you don't have space just don't buy much? These KZbinrs are basically Americans living in the boondocks where they go to costco or walmart once a month so they need to actually buy so much. If you have the privilege to live in the city then just do your shopping once a week.
@barbiovan18052 жыл бұрын
@@aesyamazeli8804 obviously I don't buy roomful of food. Also, clearly suburbia is where these homes with huge footprints are - they are new construction.
@thelfinarcher Жыл бұрын
@@aesyamazeli8804 That's a great concept, but not necessarily very practical for a lot of families. I have two teens and three adults in my home (counting myself), and two of the adults have very limited function. I can't easily have "not much" in my home, and need to buy certain items in bulk, to save some money. Our house was built in the 50s, however, so wasn't designed with even a small pantry, or the best kitchen layout for great storage. So, it is nice to come across organization suggestions that benefit those of us who have limited space, but still need to stock enough items to feed our families. Even the basics can take up more room than some might realize.

It's all about finding the container that suits your needs. Sounds like you have deep cabinets? Ones where you need to reach all the way to the back to retrieve something or worse empty everything out to find anything? Try getting the pull out drawers that you can just place in your cabinet & for added security you can tape or nail it in. These are a bit more pricier than dollar tree, but try the discount stores like TJ Maxx & the like. They're also at Sam's club and HSN or QVC. Good luck!

One ☝️ f the main ways to “see” your pantry items, is to NOT push them to the back of a cupboard or cabinet. “Facing the shelves” like they do at the grocery store. Bring all your items to the front of the the cabinet or shelves. I find cabinetry in the states are far too deep to be practical.

Glass jars are not expensive. You can get a case of 6, 64 oz Ball Jars shipped to your home for about 20-25 bucks. The problem with glass containers is that they’re heavy and breakable- even those with silicone sleeves. In general, the silicone and glass containers are lighter, but they’re very expensive and still impractical- especially for a household that has kids. Plastic organization is kind of a necessary, but helpful “evil”. It’s affordable and functional…and it’s not particularly hazardous or prone to causing injuries when dropped.

@leenone84562 жыл бұрын
I've done that for a few things. You take the packaging (boxes are best) and cut off the flaps. You can just set them up that way, trim the sides a bit shorter (to fit on the shelf) and cut out a handle to make it easier to grab. If you get the same boxes (and they fit easily without too much fuss) you can even tack on some paper to the front that can be transferred to the new box as you buy.
