Becky hearing your dad say “I want you guys to know that I love you” brought happy tears to my eyes. I lost my mother 7 years ago on October. 16th and every conversation she had with my brother, myself, or her grandchildren would always end with “I love you.” Those words are such a gift and something that your nieces and nephews will always carry with them. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Keep up the good work. 💛

When the chips start breaking down they will bind up nutrients in the soil, so make sure to fertilize with slow release fertilizer and fertilize frequently. Also, besides the heat issue, if you didn't fertilize your hydrangeas enough (happened to me) throughout the season, they will produce less flowers. We live on 3 acres. My front yard is about as big as a football field. We redid our front yard about 20 yrs ago. I was much younger and moved better 😁 We put 3 islands in because I had 3 dogwoods. But we only put greenery in, nothing that continues to produce flowers or bulbs that you have to dig up and separate or get overgrown. We put only nandinias, boxwoods, small cedars, burning Bush, etc. things that we trim down once a year. We also bought huge boulders to put in the islands. I love flowers but I am so glade we only did greenery type things. I get to enjoy my flowers on my back deck. You are one little worker bee 🐝 ❤️
