In the kerrang mag that came out today, it was obviously a bmth exclusive. And in the interview they all said that they wanted to go with a different style but still have that rock in there. They also said thats the spirit was all pre planned and they knew exactly what they were doing. And they said with the new album theyre just winging it. They again said that, like thats the spirit, theyre trying new styles out and see how it works out. I dont understand why people are making such a big fuss about it. You dont see many singers creating the same style and the same sound of music for every album they release. Thats what bring me are doing. Thats the spirt was different and the new album is gonna be different. Oli cant really go back to the count your blessing era because he damaged his vocal chords because he never learned how to scream the right way. So they are sort of going around that. And creating rock music just not as heavy as it was. Its most likely gonna be a mix between sempiternal and TTS. But they also said that they're creating this new sound to widen the variety of what can be considered rock. So this doesnt really class as pop. Its still rock just different to what we know. Sorry for this being so long but thats everything i know! 😊😅

Before the band released That's the spirit Oli got out of rehab for a self admitted drug problem and decided he doesn't like the metalcore style they did for Suicide season, There is a hell, and Sempiternal so they changed their style. Personally I'm upset that they aren't doing the heavier stuff anymore, but I like what they're doing now.

something I learned from listening to bands that don't really adjust to one specific genre is that music is what it is, you can try to label it but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. I'm glad bmth continues to navigate through sounds and find its own style, I'm glad they're still together. people who claim to know a lot about deathcore, post-hardcore, pop, rap, jazz, whatever -and don't knowledge any other music style just because it's not of their liking it's actually pretty ignorant. it's okay if you don't like it, but that doesn't mean no one else does nor does it mean it's bad. as I said, it is what it is, music, art, nothing else.

I like that bands like bring me the horizon experiment with different sounds and to be honest this is great. We are all getting older and most of us get fed up with the same old sound from our youths and it's this kind of step that makes the bands still relevant by today's standards. Metal is changing for the better and my other favourite band currently is crossfaith as they have done something different and I love it. Very few bands, however, make changes and eventually people get tired of them. I can't wait for BMTH new album. 👌

Every album BMTH released was different from their last album and they still remained within the metal genre. TTS and this new album are not written for metal fans, they're written for radio. they're written just to appeal to the masses. I mean we can overinterpret and say that the lyrics provide a message and that it was a goal to piss the fans off (the ones typing all the coments that old BMTH is never coming back etc.) and after the album is released it will actually be metal af. I mean on iTunes this song is listed as a single (maybe it's separate from the album as I and the lyrics say "to piss you off"). "Before the truth will set you free It’ll piss you off", "And I know this doesn’t make a lot of sense", "All I’m asking for’s a little bit of faith". I mean maybe I'm overinterpreting or maybe they wanted it to be exactly this way. Anyways I love the sound of the "old" BMTH and the "new" as I did with Linkin Park when they changed.
