The Theme is dark, But i want them get get Darker as dark as humanly possible. Like they said they want too be heavy but not musically but lyricly. As far as the song goes. Its got an insanely catchy riff and chorus but i cant help but think of happy song v2. Still it isn't bad but i'm just excited to see what the rest of amo has to offer.
@legoshi59256 жыл бұрын
Yeah, like a year or so ago Oli said they wanted to do "super dark, dance-y sounding stuff" which made me think of depeche mode, and that sort of sound clearly isn't in this song, i still absolutely love it though, but i agree with you, hopefully they'll pull through on those statements with the rest of the album

One half of their fans expected them to go pop, the other one hoped that they would go back to their metalcore roots. They just went Alternative and I am so happy that they don’t care about expectations. Bmth go their own way. Every Album had a different concept, a different sound and that’s what you call art. If you can’t get around with the fact that Bmth is a collective of artists who want to try out different things well than I can’t help you with that. The old songs are still there, there are many other bands like Bad Omens who catch the vibe of Sempiternal and let me tell you, going pop never means that the music is going to be worse, just different. This song is definitely a banger, it’s catchy and overall it just sounds huge. Btw awesome video, this is really cool.

I honestly felt like this could’ve easily of been a bonus track on TTS. I’m still not sure if I completely love it but just me 🤷🏻♂️. Can’t wait for the full album
@RaptureGunner506 жыл бұрын
Well, its not to far off from TTS, I really enjoyed that album. While it was nothing like their previous works, it was still heavy in a sense for the genre they switched to, despite the clean vocals and some tracks, I feel they still had their trademark "There's a Void inside my soul" kinda sound . This song Isn't as heavy, as any of the tracks on TTS. But its not that far off either, what makes it slightly more different than their previous albums track, is the pop sounding lyrics and synth samples toward the end of the song its self. Now alot of people will disagree with me and say its not Pop Rock, that its Hard Rock, but i'll personally have to disagree, as it clearly has pop influences in the song, while still keeping that Hard Rock riff through most of the song. So thats my take on how this song is different than the previous song On TTS. And if you wanna see why I label this song as Pop Rock instead of Hard Rock, take a second and listen to a couple pop songs on the radio and you'll see what I mean hopefully. Oh and one more thing that I think makes TTS tracks different from Mantra is that it has a more electronic sound that compliments the Hard Rock tunes, which reminds me of Can You Feel My Heart, more than Mantra, Mantra has a quick and short, but drastic change in sound toward the end. Cant wait to hear the rest of the album though, while this song did grow on me a bit, I want to hear something just a liiiitle more heavy in a couple tracks, at least reminiscent of Avalanche Or Happy Song and less of the Synth sounds. Mantra sounds good and I do like it, but it doesn't exactly sound like them, imho.

[Chorus] Before the truth will set you free, it'll piss you off Before you find a place to be, you're gonna lose the plot Too late to tell you now, one ear and right out the other one 'Cause all you ever do is chant the same old mantra Yeah! [Verse 2] Could I have your attention, please? It's time to tap into your tragedy Think you could use a new abuser Close your eyes and listen carefully Imagine you're stood on a beach Water gently lapping at your feet But now you're sinking, what were you thinking? That's all the time we have this week [Chorus] Before the truth will set you free, it'll piss you off Before you find a place to be, you're gonna lose the plot Too late to tell you now, one ear and right out the other one 'Cause all you ever do is chant the same old mantra [Bridge] And I know this doesn't make a lot of sense But do you really wanna think all by yourself now? Like it or not, BMTH is one of the only bands that is evolving the concept of rock without turning pop. I hope this album it's great so the industry starts supporting rock music again, because it seems like labels and bands nowadays are just doing the music for the money and not from the gut...

I honestly don't care how much mainstream they go, if the quality of their music remains. Unlike A LOTS of bands that go from Metal/Rock to CRAPPY basic soul-less pop( that they don't know how to do as the good pop artists), BMTH is moving on different zones without leaving the guitars on the closet. And I think BMTH is very close to find his SPECIFIC rock sound, which is rock, a little more mainstream than they used to do, yes, but still powerful.

Before this video I did like the song but the video harmonizes so well with the song and gives it a whole different meaning and feeling about it. I absolutely love it now. I don't care who it's by and I feel like that's important because Sempiternal was my favourite (and a really important one for me) by BMTH and I could feel sad rn that they're not gonna do something similar to it anymore but I love this song so much now that it's more important to enjoy and accept their new music. It was really courageous of them to go this direction, to keep on going, to evolve and boi are they amazing at it.

¡Grande Bring me the horizon!

Close, but no. It's the logo on the floor the kids dance around. I thought the same, which made me think "well makes sense, since they used the 'Men of Letters' logo from supernatural." But not the same eyes.

It's so cool how this one song had singlehandedly decided on what the band will do in the future themewise, as the story told on Post Human and the ARG directly connects to this song and music video.
@Squishiimon6 жыл бұрын
I know it’s supposed to be about religion and stuff but i had this thought about how people mindlessly keep repeating “i like the old bmth” . In the end of the video he kills off all his followers while clearly he’s still alive.. and he did say the rest of the album was gonna be way different from mantra. So idk just a thought xD

SilenceE it’s a clear reference to the change of the band. If you notice the beginning of the video started out with him looking like his old self but more worn out, it’s a clear sign that he feels tired and used of his old and known style and now that it shows the next scene with him being cleaned up and different it’s a basic analogy towards a shift in music choice the cult aspect being the new followers of his music and thus the ending meaning the downfall of his old fans.

also, look at the audience - at first there were just one kid - later people from different ages. Maybe he wants to say that he want's to make music not just for one target audience anymore - but music for a lot of people. But maybe I am just thinking bs.

I saw many comments saying that they like the older work better, personally I like both but I understand where you come from. Tbh this doesn't sound the slightest like pop; pop for me is Lady Gaga, Katy Perry etc. but everybody has a different opinion.

So I've noticed a lot of opinions going around about bmth. Personally.... I dig it. They've always had killer , creative music videos ,no one can deny that. The pink hair... Kinda dig it. People grow and wanna experience new things that's what life is about. The "mantra" part not too big on but it's thier music not mine, not yours 🙃💁 Oliver has always came up with killer lyrics and have always made a point to come up with a meaning (more deep to others ) for every song. Just because they change it up and he gives (as we all know his fucking astounding vocals) a rest doesn't mean he sucks now. His music like many other bands have all meant something to us at one point or another. That I guarantee you ,you have no argument over. All in all as fans, I personally support thier growth , creativity and lives, as we all did once before. ❤️ Thanks for giving a shit to read my long elaborate post.
