You should definitely make more Across the Obelisk videos, i absolutely love them. My personal recommendation on how to win an AtO campaign is having a lineup of characters that syncronise in one aspect or another (e.g. all specialising in fire damage or applying thorns on teammates.)

I second this motion, ATO doesn't get nearly enough love. Also, the team Rimmy and the gang were running actually has some really good synergy between Nenukil and Heiner, using Nenukils Mounted Cannon and Exoskeleton talents plus Heiners Laser talents, combined with the Perk that makes fortify increase fire damage they basically turn the team into a Flamethrower Tank :p (also, just like Double Barrel adds an extra barrel to Nenukils gun, Mounted Cannon literally adds a shoulder mounted cannon to his model, it's peak)

Absolutely more Across the Obelisk please. My personal winning run involved Heiner, THE QUEEN, Evelyn, and the default cleric dude. Focus was on the two mages hitting cold damage. Made sure to visit several of the rifts beforehand because they drop crazy awesome items, in particular the "Dimensional Crystal" drop which makes the first spell you cast in combat give a free copy of itself. Combine this with a powerful cold spell that was guaranteed to start in the hand of both mages and I could start every combat pumping 4 powerful spells onto the biggest threat one after the other. But yeah in general you want to focus on some synergy or other, some of the better builds imo are things that involve one of the rings that let you double up on debuffs like the one that applies a bleed for every poison, one that does the opposite, shadow for every cold etc. and then you can use the cards that double debuffs and make it go utterly mad.

Wild if true, but I think it's more of "this is to encourage players to do multiple runs and get new cards etc." like it probably isn't *impossible* to win on your first run but extremely unlikely. Fight might be overtuned though; like slay the spire you can definitely beat it on your first run with each character if you get lucky and play smart.

@@Red-Tower This is exactly what it is, every run that ends gives you XP for those characters. That XP gives you perk points you can use to increase the base damage you do, your base health, the amount of stacks of buffs / debuffs you apply, just about everything. And the gold and crystals you earn can be spent at a town to build yourself up and make a better build.

If you want a strong character in general that can really break the game: Thuls. Poison has a ridiculous scaling in damage: combine it with cards like Neurotoxin, necrotic burst and other skins that deal based on poison stacks and you can absolutely explode Hanshek and the Architect in two turns each. Do not this doesn't work if you have limited stack modifiers in difficulty settings.

You want to win? Play the game more, get perk points and rank up your characters. Also stop using Ottis because he's garbage as an actual healer, more of a support healer. Use ANYONE but Ottis and you'll have a better time. Reginald has crazy heals, Malukah is also a DPS and her heals are meh because she relies too much on regen but she's really meant to pair with dark mages who have self heal, and Nezglekt stacks stupid amounts of buffer and dispels so you'll never struggle with status effects (take prescriptions and dark omens on him to draw cheap healing spells, because he benefits from skills). TL;DR: Stop using Ottis. Use Regi and don't focus on damage, focus on heals. Use Heiner and don't bother with attack cards. As a final tip, using Thuls with nothing but poison is a win button. You can deal literal thousands of damage per hit if you use the poison doubling card and Neurotoxin or Bane (former better than the latter).
