You can scatter feed (if you want) to prevent them getting aggressive with each other over food. You basically just chuck the veggies or pellets around the pen on the floor and let them run around eating it piece by piece. It's also just good enrichment for them and can help with some digestive issues as some rabbits eat too quickly. They seem to like it and it can entertain them for a while (depending how much food is on the floor) I feed pellets like this when I need my bunny out of my way and occupied (she lives free roam in my room so if I put veggies on the floor they'd get trodden on). I just watched your prep video of you setting up the pen and I actually love it. Its perfect for them. It's a great size and there's plenty of traction for their feet. I also really like the squishy mat as it will be nice for their feet and as a bed. The enrichment looks great too. I would like to warn you that the rabbits might try to jump in the hay racks and could easily hurt themselves or get stuck. I'd recommend creating some kind of lid for it. Personally I use a hay bag from etsy that I clip closed at the top so she can't jump in and she seems to be doing alright. Some rabbits do struggle with hay bags and hay racks though and if they hay doesn't come out easily it can put strain on certain muscles. If your rabbits seem to struggle you can always put the hay straight into the litter trat, it's a more natural sating position for them but you'll potentially use more hay. With toys, I found my bunny takes a few days or a week (maybe two) to warm up to a new toy so don't be disheartened if they don't take to a new toy immediately. Fleece is pretty much impossible to vacuum in my experience and I find using a brush in gentle circular motions helps get a lot of fur off it quite easily. Good luck with them. Just as you said, Olive loved to sit in her hay rack and I was getting worried she would hurt herself, so I recently removed them completely. I’ve noticed that they’re both grazing a lot more which is great to see! It’s sad I spent so much time finding those perfect racks but I’ll find another use for them! Also, they have been way better with their eating, but I might try scatter feeding the pellets (I’m worried the veggies will get too much fur on them if I scatter those since it’s all fleece material) overall thank you so much for your tips + I hope more people see this comment so it helps other new bunny owners 🥰

@@BrittanyFaith aw no worries. That's good they're eating more. The veggies would probably be fine but it's completely up to you. They ingest their own fur anyway so a tiny bit on the veggies would probably be harmless but you do you. I'd never scatter feed things like tomatoes tho because that would just be very messy. They are very used to all people, I have little siblings that came to meet them and they hopped right onto their laps within seconds. They are the friendliest bunnies I’ve ever met! luckily their foster mom did such a good job with them before I adopted them. It’s so unfortunate that so many bunnies get caged 😓

Your bunnies are in good care and I’m glad you did your research but for me I wouldn’t use the hay racks your using cuz the space between the bars are a little to close and they my not get enough hay or they may get stuck I recommend no hay racks or use a hay bag instead

Wood pellets in the litter box is VERY helpful. I get mine at tractor supply for about 5 dollars and it lasts a long time. Also just changing out the litter box frequently.

Hello i just adopted a bunny, he’s free roam since i live in apartment (don’t worry, he’s not poo and pee everywhere that’s why i decided to free roaming him). It’s the day 1, he’s just got home. He ate and drank a bit, but when i came closer he’s running away. I can’t even offer my hand to feed him🥲 it’s normal right? since it’s the first day he got home. Ty!!

Yes that’s completely normal!! Some bunnies are just more shy than others and don’t like affection as much! I’ve seen a lot of people lay on the ground and put treats around them or on them and then let their bunnies eat it without trying to pet them so they know you are safe! 💖

Yes! I had just brought them home and the lady who fostered them didn’t have the correct brush I think. I now use the hair buster and it works really well!
