When German products came onto the English market, they were bought more often than domestic products because of their quality. Then the government decided to label German products "Made in Germany" because they thought that the English might buy English products out of a sense of national pride. However, they achieved the complete opposite. Considering the bombs ... what has turned into a real issue up here in the north is the decomposition of phosphorus bombs in the baltic sea. The white phosphor being washed ashore looks eerily similar to the amber which can be found here. During the summer months due to the higher temperatures the phosphor will set itself on fire before anyone finds it. But during the winter time tourists and locals alike happy to have found a big chunk of amber will unknowingly put the pieces of phosphor in their pockets where it then warms up slowly and will burn at around 1300 degrees celsius resulting in horrible burns. Unfortunately water will not put the phosphoric fire out. There have been so many accidents in recent years. Everyone is adviced to at least put their beach finds into a jar first, but the word doesn't seem to have spread. We really need warning signs installed.

The castles were actually not built for war, but for peace. The more castles a ruler built, the more the land around was pacified. Only nobles were knights and if they had not inherited anything, they became robber barons and marauded through the countryside. The castles offered protection, as the raids were focused on the surrounding villages, where there was livestock and much more to capture and the farmers could retreat to the castle to at least save their lives. The people supplied and fed the lord of the castle, who in return was obliged to protect his subjects, if necessary by force of arms. The last place of refuge in the event of a storming was the so-called "Burgfried". This word also contains the the old version of the word peace - "fried" = "peace".

@@xSoulhunterDKx If I call the bomb squad just on the suspicion/assumption one is in my back yard, I'll have to pay the search, the dig and the defusing. If the city discovers a bomb in the ground by probes and specialized aerial photography (routine for all major roadworks; we find several dozen each year all over the city -- and so do the surrounding cities), the cost lies with city admin. The whole area, an industrial and mining hub since the late 1800s, was heavily carpet-bombed by the British and Americans near the end of WW II; there were major raids in both 1942 and 44. If you've ever heard about the "Dambusters" (or seen the movie), that happened less than 70km from here. A few years ago, the city had to evacuate around 11000 people from their homes, including the two major hospitals in town, for a whole day because roadworks unearthed three huge bombs stuck under a street going through the city center. So any law that would punish prison escape, would violate the Human Rights and as such couldn't be valid. That being said, any act that infringes upon the rights of another person, is prosecutable, because while you may do anything to protect your human rights, you are not allowed to violate the rights another person has. Realistically... it's nearly impossible to escape prison without making yourself prosecutable in some fashion.

German traffic laws say you can drive as fast as you want on the Aotobahn, but your speed must be adapted to the traffic situation and environmental influences. You must also be able to adapt your speed to dangerous situations at any time. If you can't do this, you can get a fine or, in the event of an accident, be held primarily responsible.
@kirviq8 ай бұрын
Yep. The recommended speed for unlimited sections on the autobahn is 130 km/h (~81mph). If you get involved in an accident and were driving faster you better have a good reason for doing so. Your insurance might not pay and you might get a partial responsibility even if it was the others fault. And I think you could get a fine on top, but not sure about that.

About 5-7 years ago, you could still legally smoke tobacco as a 16-year-old in Austria (Germany's neighboring country to the south) and many brands adapted the designs specifically for young people or put menthol balls with fruity flavors in the cigarette filter. If you crushed this little ball in the filter, the cigarette tasted like candy and the menthol made it easier for young people to take a puff. But that's all in the past, smoking is now only permitted from the age of 18, just like in Germany, and these "fruity menthol balls" have also been banned for years. At least in Germany and Austria, in other countries they are still allowed, as far as I know in Switzerland and the Eastern European countries.

sausages consist of different types and amounts of meats, fats and spices. Also there's huge differences in how they're treated after mixing the ingredients together. Some sausages are boiled, some are smoked, some get both, others stay raw... it's quite interesting once you get to know the process and the different recipes and no, they won't pull you over just for speeding in an area with no speed limit on the Autobahn, but you still need to consider that you're not alone on the road. So reckless driving, endangering others by your actions and also hopping through openings on the lanes is considered endangering others and can either cause people to call the police on you or police officers to notice you and pull you over.

In regards to the unexplored bombs: Yep, there are quite a few cases in which old bombs, sometimes grenades are found in Germany. They are often found eventually, then a tree am of professionals comes in and dismantles them. Everyone within a certain radius is evacuated, so that in the unlikely event that the professionals have to detonate the bomb/ let it explode, no habitants there die. Unfortunately, it’s not impossible for the team to die during a failed dismantlement. In the area where I live there were 4 old bombs found within 366 days - all were dismantled without injury or death. Prison break is only legal if the escapee doesn’t commit any other crimes on the run - breaking in, destroying or damaging property, theft, murder/ manslaughter or physically hurting others etc. The person in the original video forgot to mention Germany’s musicians and composers - the Bach family, Beethoven, Brahms, the Schumann couple, Strauss, Mendelssohn, Händel, Wagner, Telemann, just to name a few!

Not-so fun fact about the bombs: after WW2 many houses were built on levelled debris which also contained unexploded bombs. So it is just a matter of time, that the deteriorating barrier between the chambers collapses and and could trigger an explosion If the chemicals were still where they were. Hopefully the surrounding material has deteriorated the same way and the chemicals have already migrated into the ground. Many of those bombs were constructed to set off by mixing two chemicals. And this mechanism failed originally which led to it not exploding when it was supposed to. People considered them harmless at that time, not knowing that the jammed process could still be triggered any time.

Fun fact: There are even a lot of streets that are not part of the Autobahn network, that don't have a speed limit. They need to be built in a certain, very safe way, have at least two lines and stuff, but they are actually not that rare. I enjoy driving fast with a nice car but it is necessary to be very responsible. I only go 220 km/h if the autobahn is free and the middle lane is empty. Usual travel speed is around 120 due to traffic.

Wow, at 0:21 a view crossing Neckarbruecke (Bridge) in Tuebingen actually shown in one of these videos, first I’ve seen this … usually only the “big” tourist spots are shown. And again at 11:55, this time the other side of the bridge is shown. But for the life of me I don’t see the connection of prison escapes and Tuebingen, there’s no prison in Tuebingen. The guy is hilarious, takes everything at face value, half the time doesn’t wait until the video presenter has fully explained it … Some statements are grossly exaggerated, the 1000 varieties of sausages include local variations that don’t differ much from others in the particular reason, and at butchers and grocery stores one usually doesn’t find more than maybe 10 to 15 different sausages, including some luncheon meats (for sandwiches) which are sliced from sausages. And the 25000 castles, well, that includes palaces, castles on hilltops, fortresses, manors and stately country homes, and a whole lot of RUINS, I’d say most of the 25000 are ruins, with maybe a couple walls or remnants of a keep. My guess would be that Great Britain has as many per square kilometer.

Catching up someone from left is illegal. So thats mean you cant just hit the Pedal. You clearly has to watch out for those who cant drive as fast as you want to. ps. im from Switzerland and not Germany, so if i havnt writ it well feel free to correct me^^

The low age at which people start drinking alcohol has a certain purpose. It is intended to promote the sensible use of alcohol, so that by the time you reach the age of 18 you already have experience with it. For example, this helps to raise awareness that driving drunk is not a good thing, as driving a car is only permitted if you are 18 years old and have a driving license.

The problem with the motorways in Germany is that it is not rare that people (mainly drunk men) race each other and often cause terrible accidents doing so. That is why police watch out for them. But in general where there's no speed limit you can drive as fast as the traffic allows it

ok so prison break was explained in the comments already but i think there is more shocking facts than the video shows. As example - age of consent is 14 - yes for the adult stuff given your partner is under 18 as well. 16 if he or she is older than 18. - Taking fotogaphs of people in public without their consent is illegal - wearing pro communist shirts, flags etc. is illegal (for the same reason the ww2 themed ones are as well) - being naked in public is legal, if it is a "low frequented" area or a designated area. - being clothed in a sauna is forbidden and you can get kicked out for wearing swimwear

About the bombs, I remember at school once there was an announcement that all students that lived in a certain area had to go home because they found a bomb there and had to evacuate. I also have a friend that lives in Hamich, where there was the biggest tank fight during the war, she still finds old bullets and coins sometimes, and there are many craters and shelters. I think the reason why there are still so many bombs was that after the war they just buried it all, like they just build on top, or something like that

Regarding that Autobahn myth: there's hardly a stretch of Autobahn left on which you can actually drive "theoretically unlimited" speeds. Most of Germany's Autobahns are limited for a vast variety of reasons, "noise pollution", "road damage", "crash hazard", the omnipresent building sites (because every good Autobahn needs to be dug up for several years at a time), or just to prepare drivers for upcoming important "route decisions" and making it less dangerous to maneuver across several lanes if need be. So yes, there are a few stretches of Autobahn left that are theoretically unrestricted, but just because it says "Autobahn" that doesn't mean you can always and everywhere tread the pedal to the metal as you please. Also a great treat: due to a LOT of crashes on Autobahns, often with final outcomes, the authorities take speed limits very seriously. They have speed traps and speed cameras littered all over the place, and going just a few km/h over the limit can already cost you dearly, especially in building sites where excessive speed could endanger road workers. And in the few areas you theoretically could drive as fast as you want, the "fun" is ruined by morons that block all the lanes. Trucks, buses, lemons and electric cars in the right lane going 80 km/h, inattentive cruisers and tired commuters dawdling at anything between 80-120 km/h in the middle lane, and then trucks, buses, lemons or electric cars overtaking them at 81-121 km/h in the "speed" lane on the left. Many "middle dawdlers" will also be just as fast/slow as the ones in the right lane, taking away lane space for those who want to go slightly faster than them, pushing them over to the left and blocking the way for everyone else wanting to go fast. And you would not believe the number of times I was nearly killed trying to get past someone who was (slooooooowly) catching up to a truck in the right lane. You'd think they'd check their rear view mirror/s and wait for anything approaching fast from behind to pass them before they mosey out of their lane... but nope. As soon as you are dangerously close to them, they'll just push out (turn signal or not) and force you over to the left lane, which could have someone speeding up behind you. So some inattentive or egotistical c*nt in the right lane could wreck not only their own life, but the lives of several others around them as well. Dangerous business going fast on Germany's Autobahns. If you want to try going fast on the Autobahn, I wouldn't advise you to try it out on your own, but instead to go with someone local who drives fast all the time, and can answer your questions and show you the ins and outs.

19:00 - Also, going fast and unsing the Autobahn as a race track is a difference. Its not allowed to race against others and put people in danger. Offending others on street has some really bad downsides like loosing your licence for 1-3 month, getting negative points in the licence register (you can only have so many to loose your licence completely). Also crossing a car on the right side or driving to close into his bud might bring you problems when someone reports you. And - showing a middle finger, cursing at others or using your phone in the car will bring you empty pockets.
