The main difference between a smoker and a grill is the heat source and cooking temperature, which results in different cooking times and flavors:Smokers Use indirect heat from the smoke of burning wood to cook food at lower temperatures, typically between 160-300°F. Smoking is a slower cooking process that can take hours or even days. The smoke infuses the food with a unique flavor and can make tougher cuts of meat more tender

How about a keg of beer so you don't need a separate kegorator. Beer tap in a fridge door. My 1st apartment in 82' we bought an old rounded top fridge w/ a small ice box up top for $15. It would hold a 1/4 keg ($16 w/ a button top tap $49) and we put a shoe box on top for donations. I bought 16 1/4 kegs that summer until they had to ask for ID and realized I was 19. Moved on to the next distributor. Those were the days when my girlfriend and I making $4.25/hour each could afford $180/month rent w/ 2 vehicles, low electric and land line phone bills. There's no way any young people can do that today, sad.

I miss having a chest freezer! We do have an extra fridge & freezer (the fridge is commercial size & could be used as a freezer but we use it as an extra fridge) & the freezer’s an upright (thankfully you have to manually defrost it, but I still miss the chest freezer, because no one will “forget” to shut it & you won’t end up losing your contents 🥴). But yeah our kitchen fridge/freezer combo is the French double door open fridge on top & the freezer on the bottom with 4 “compartments” inside it. We do love it. Kinda wish we didn’t have an ice compartment in the door as we don’t use it (we have a LARGE commercial size ice machine in the garage ~ NOW THAT THING is a thing of beauty 😂), so the ice compartment in the fridge is just taking up space for no reason for us.

Most Superstores like Home Depot, Costco, Lowe's, etc have incredibly small warehouse/receiving areas. Almost all inventory in the store is on the sales floor, either shoppable level (under 6') or overstock (all the brown box and pallets above 6'). Merch comes in the back receiving area, and goes quickly to the floor for merchandising or overhead stock. A Smoker is very different from a Grill/BBQ. Smokers use very low temperatures, usually under 200F, and very long cook times to impart that smoky flavor into your proteins.

My hubs put in a brand new sink & faucet (goodbye contractor grade crappy sink & faucet!) & had to make the opening for the sink bigger as the new sink was bigger than the old one that came with the house. In some states, you’d have to actually talk to a plumber about putting one in (or someone who can use a cutter to cut the granite to make it a bigger opening) & get it all put in. If we ever redo any other part of the kitchen, one of the upgrades I’d like to put in would be a faucet over the oven to fill up big pots. That would be super awesome to have done.

And regarding the water/ice dispenser; in most US homes, they need to run a separate water line to connect to the main waterline that feeds into a home. A lot of the stuff in Lowe's or Home Depot is meant for commercial use, like the huge packs of toilet paper and paper towels, but unlike Sam's or Costco, you don't have to have a membership or business license. The shelves full of cardboard boxes above their reach is overstock. During the day or after the store closes, employees get ladders and refill the shelves below. A lot of the palletised merchandise is pulled from the shelves using forklifts, they're not meant for customer access. Lowe's, Home Depot, Sam's, and Costco are warehouse retail environments where employees are on power equipment to pull pallets and merchandise down after they close off the aisle to keep customers safe.

A smoker has a side box that holds the fire. The smoke goes through the barrel, over and under whatever you're smoking, and goes out the chimney on the other side. Low, indirect heat. Its how brisket is made, for example. All those texas bbq you've seen folks eat. It's all cooked on a smoker. What y'all call bbq we call grilling. To us bbq is smoked.

Energy efficient to have the freezer on the bottom since cold air sinks. We love it. Have had it for over 10 years, so yeah, it might be $2.7K, but that's only $270/year, or less than a dollar a day. A lot up front, but savings in the future.

Hi from Los Angeles🙋‍♀️ To add to your fridge obsession: At one point the GE brand had a fridge in their Café line that had a built in Keurig hot beverage maker. It was a massive failure, but super cool looking. I think you can watch a vid on this model, on this platform, if you're curious. I do have an ice and chilled water dispenser on my fridge. The big difference between our dispenser fridges and the ones sold internationally... Our fridges connect to the plumbing. The ones you can buy in the UK have internal water tanks that must be filled manually. Also our ice makers are fully automatic. Your UK icemaker would be auto-fed the water from the tank, but you need to turn a knob to put the ice in the dispenser's holding bin.

Our fridge has an ice (crushed or block) dispenser & a hot or cold water filtered water dispenser. We have a large floor to ceiling commercial size nugget ice machine in our garage & never use the one on the fridge (hubs is super handy & knows how to do pretty much whatever ~ & if he doesn’t one of the other people in his family knows how & will teach him… he put a filtered water system that is on the other side of the wall of where the fridge is (inside the pantry) & has it hooked up to not only our fridge but also to the fancy espresso maker. I always forget about the hot water on the fridge because we just use our little electric kettle (ALL THE TIME 😂) for tea/coffee/whatever. Wonder if that hot water on the fridge even works anymore… it’s been a few years since we’ve even used it…. Mainly because we bought a nasty smelling fruit to try ~ it was good but it stunk up our fridge something awful & we couldn’t even use the ice or water in the fridge because it made everything taste so gross…. & that’s how we ended up having an electric kettle… & we were thankful we already had the ice machine in the garage. Seriously, we bleached the heck out of that entire fridge/freezer/all the lines/etc trying to get rid of that disgusting smell. It took months of constant cleaning to get rid of that horrid odor. We agreed to never again buy that fruit. It was ok, but it was definitely not worth all the work it took to get rid of the smell. I think we eventually had to just replace a few items to finally get rid of that odor. 🥴

A good American doesn’t refer to a grill as a barbecue. Some do, but they come from parts of the country where authentic barbecue is elusive. What you call a barbecue we would call a grill. The difference in a grill and a smoker is that a grill (or bbq as you would call it) is set up for direct heat, which we would call grilling; while smokers are used for bbq because the heat is indirect.

We have griddles, grills, and smokers. Griddles are flat metal (cast iron) used for searing or sautéing . Like Blackstones. Grills you’d use either propane heat or charcoal to grill over a grate like steak, chops, or chicken. Smokers are for cooking over low indirect heat using wood or pelleted wood to create smoke and low heat. For ribs and brisket etc.

But they have everything you need to build or repair a house - lumber, lighting, tile/caulk, paint, kitchen design, bug spray, an entire outdoor area for everything from small plants to river rocks for yard decor. This is the time of year we visit often, because we make our Halloween decorations from scratch (though they sell pre-fab Halloween stuff). Try making a boat coming out of your house without instructions, and must include a pirate skeleton and working (fog) cannon. Takes several trips to get everything.

A smoker is for smoking meats and things, and yes, they do have a chimney (a smokestack). It's for the air flow to pull the smoke over the food and for consistency in temp. There are different types of smokers, too. I have an electric wood pellet smoker which can double as a grill. It has a thing in it that feeds the wood pellets to the fire source as needed in order to maintain the set temp. No charcoal or anything else. I also have what's called an offset or a "stick burner" (I don't use it anymore). You burn actual stick wood in an attached offset fire box. You don't want to put just any kind of wood in them because the various woods puts different flavors into the food (here in OK and TX, we use a lot of post oak). Then there are different types of regular grills, but you can get accessories to smoke short cooks in those (not big cooks tho that take all day). Then are the blackstone griddles, which are the large outdoor griddles.

Paint, lumber, plumbing supplies, tools like saws, drills, nuts & bolts. If you want to redo your kitchen or bathroom you can get sinks & reefers.
