I'll never regret taking advantage of the post 9/11 pricing. I would have not been able to take that trip to Europe, had the fares not been so ridiculously low. I can't buy a bus ticket to LA for those prices.

Also, most working Americans don't have enough vacation time to travel out of the US. European countries give their citizens 30 days of paid vacation (holiday) leave. If I had 30 days of leave every year, it would make a huge step toward being able to travel. The only way I've been able to travel out of the US was a cruise...and that was a 10 day cruise. Took all my paid leave for that year.

Everything I have seen would cost me 10K to spend a week for 2 in Europe, and this might not be in a 4 star place either. I am sure that would not cover a lot of extras either. Go on vacation every year to any state for 1/5 the cost or go to one place in Europe every 5 years?

I'm American and I don't care what other people say about me, I watch KZbin more than TV . I see the cup half full, I'm optimistic and I love people in general, I live happily, I only smoke pot(weed) I don't own a gun but I was raised with guns, I respect them I don't pull it out unless I'm going to use it. I'm friendly I love meeting new people from all over the world, I love my country I love being free to express my views and raise my flag, with pride. I love that as an American I meet people from different cultures and different beliefs. It's great. I love all of our people, and I respect our country.

@DLHH407

I find this video insulting and the explanations by the commentator are even worse. None of this fits the Americans I know, nor myself. I do have a passport, and I know many others who do. Many Americans are not overweight until they hit their 40's and the weight starts creeping up. I don't own a gun, but I believe in our constitutional right to have guns. We have many avid hunters in our country which are a big help to the conservation of our wild animals. When you have too many animals it causes starvation and disease, because there is not enough food to go around and there is over crowding. Some farmers need guns to protect their livestock from predators. We are also, allowed to have guns for our own personal protection. Bad guys will always have guns, why take them away from good citizens. We have good people and bad people like every other country, I do believe for the most part Americans are more friendly, but we have grumps, too. I have lived overseas and I have wonderful friends there, and I know some not so friendly. Our country is vast with many views, customs, religions, races, cuisines, and levels of education, and we have our problems, but we have a lot in common, too. I have close friends of different racial backgrounds, we have been dear friends for years. If I pass you on the street, I will smile at you and maybe say hello, because I like to brighten someone's day. It is not a fake smile. So please don't judge us, I don't plan to judge you. 😊

One has to realize that when reviewing polls of any kind, polling has a select audience they're looking to impress, but when it comes to guns in particular, they're only sampling a small amount of people in certain areas where gun control advocates are prevalent and/or they're asking uneducated people about gun laws and ownership. The US federal government has strict laws to go by when it comes to buying firearms and each state/city/county has their own sets of laws. The biggest troubles are the criminals that can't own or possess a gun in the first place, the people that lied on the Firearms Transaction Record form, and those that have mentally lost it. More gun laws/restrictions only penalized law abiding citizens, not those that shouldn't have them.

I don’t know where gallop does their polls but I would venture to say only in cities. Patriotism: my ancestor left his shop in London, having been a merchant there, and boarded a chartered ship to Massachusetts in 1620, he later sent for his wife and kids. By the late 1700’s, I had ancestors on both coasts of what was later to be the United States of America. My DNA shows I have ancestors in all continents but two. Thus “E Pluribus Unum”. People from many countries have done both good and bad things, but no one will make me ashamed to be an American 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 🇺🇸

They worked hard without knowing English...kudos to them! Apparently, there wasn't so much happiness in their countries. Why would people leave country of their birth to move to a country that they didn't know the language? They achieved the American dream! They were proud! My parents taught us to be positive and believe we could achieve anything! They achieved it! Guns, never have owned one. Don't like violence. USA is a mixture of so many countries which explains the amazing foods, different religions, different opinions, different political ideas. We're still lucky and grateful we live here!!

Well I mean, people who like to shoot for fun, whether its hunting, or targets, or competition, or whatever, aren't going to want just one gun, because different designs give you a different experience. People who don't shoot for fun or as a hobby won't really. People who only want a gun for home defense may have one gun, or they may have more, depending on what they're going for. They might have a small gun for carry and something more standard size at home. You might be surprised that a lot of people have a shotgun loaded with non-lethal rounds, such as rock salt or bean bags.

And not leaving Europe is like not leaving USA; we are roughly the same geographic size, and there are dramatic cultural differences across the USA, already. One thing we tend to try to avoid is a conversation about gun control. The reason is that you never know who wants more, and who wants less these days. Of course, the gun control debate is always stoked by a criminal that shot someone, which is why that number seems so high. But on the reverse side, if a trained person (not a cop) with a gun was where that criminal was trying to shoot someone, they may have been stopped from shooting someone, or curtailed until the police showed up. Now, in some states, we're not allowed to carry a gun, despite what the Bill of Rights has to say. It's in places like these that the gun control lobby has both the most support, and the most contrasting opinion.

I live in a suburb NW of Ft Lauderdale. FL. When we visit our daughter and her family, it takes us around 7 hrs and 458 miles just to get out of Fl. The whole trip takes 14 hrs. We used to drive straight through, but since we're older we stop and stay at a motel. Since I can't fly due to a problem with my ears, we take a road trip. Therefore, travel outside of the U.S. is prohibited except for cruises. Cruising is expensive.

When I first entered high school in 7th grade back in 1993, my history class was called American Culture. It taught me that America is its own culture within itself. Created by, but not limited to, immigrants fleeing failing countries. My conclusion on that is the USA is a mixed bag of nuts. (Literally & metaphorically)😅

I don't and never have taken any illegal drugs in my entire life. I currently do not own any firearms, but I have in the past, and I am not opposed to them. Guns don't kill people. As an American, I don't like other Americans that aren't patriotic, that aren't proud to be American and those that believe in Communism and Socialism!! My parents came to this great nation as immigrants from poor nations that had dictators!! We, Americans, should be thankful to have the rights we have and the lives we live! Communism, Dictatorships and Socialism are shit!!

I am patriotic, but I am not jingoistic. To me, proof of how much you love your country can be found in what you do for your community, and whether you take the time to understand the political and economic issues that face it. Anyone can wave a flag and sing patriotic songs. Those are superficial symbols. You need to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

Coming from South America, studied here in high school and read the history of this great nation. I've been fortunate in my life, lived in Europe, South America and the States. After 9/11 i joined the military and spent 15 years, in which 4.5 of those were in war zones, and a couple of natural disasters in Haiti and djhoubuti, etc. By the way i own about 18 different firearms, rifles, pistols revolvers shotguns, and also like hunting. Hope you can make it here, but plan ahead. Let me know if you need pointers

Most European countries are the size of each of our states. I have driven to 49 states, most provinçes of Canada and lots of Northern Mexico. Not too much of the rest of the world I'd want to spend my money to go see. Although Australia would be cool. Ànd 52% of Americans want more gun control? I call b.s. Most of the people I know would like less. I know lots of gun owners and not one has shot anyone. All are responsible gun owners. But lots of unsafe boaters. Lots of them have lost guns in boating accidents.

The most rude people I have seen actually came here from another country. There are different scales used for determining obesity. My brother was just told he was obese and he only has a few extra pounds from age. No where near obese. When I was about 58 I went for a doctor visit, the nurse was Chinese I believe. After taking my weight she seriously looked at me and said “you weigh a lot.” I’m 5’10” and weighed 115 lbs, mostly muscle. I had no idea how to respond to her comment.

"Group 'x' is rude." The biggest problem with statements like this, is that what is considered rude widely varies by culture. Just because you interpret someone else to be rude, does not mean they're being rude to you. A good example is where L3WG threw the "peace" sign at the end of the video, which is a rude or obscene gesture in some cultures. A viewer may see this as being rude, however L3WG wasn't being rude when he did it.

Our base curriculum does not prioritize learning flags and stuff. We learn the basics. What continent, what language, what they're known for and whether they were World War allies or not. Lol🤷🏾‍♀️

Almost a million people a year immigrate to this country, coming from every corner of the globe, so America is a little of everything. Culturally it’s probably the most influential country over the past 150 years, with everyone consuming our media, technology, news etc., so globally everyone tends to have formed a strong opinion of America, be it good or bad. But just like a super famous person, everyone has an idea of who they think you are but far fewer people actually know what they’re talking about. So as an American you take it with a grain of salt. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and no one thinks theirs stinks.

As an American we don't need to travel to other countries when we have everything we love here. Americans travel more than other people think . I've been to 18 states alone 19 including my home state Florida . This is not including the different cities . So there is no need to travel abroad anywhere . I would love to travel Europe but everytime I plan to , I think of a place here in America I want to visit and go there . The reason is I can go several places here in America , or stay longer in one place for that trip to Europe . So I chose my country to visit . You Britts can drive 3 hours and be in another country. America is huge unless you are on the boarder of a state it takes twice that time to get out of the smaller state. So excuse the Americans if they chose to stay here in our great country ,❤ on holiday.

My uncle owns several hunting rifles, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, a crossbow, regular bow and handgun, my aunt owns a couple handguns, and my 13 year old nephew owns a lot of bb guns and airsoft pellet rifles and some relatives have real firearms stored for him for when he's old enough to have them. He takes gun safety very seriously btw, he gets SUPER mad at his friends any time they forget a gun rule like finger off the trigger until you make the shot etc when they're over shooting at targets

The best part about the USA is that our constitutional rights are not subject to the whims of the mob (ie a pure democracy, for example). The individual takes precedence over the collective. It is extremely difficult to change our Constitution, and we always have the 2nd amendment to protect it as a last resort. And if you get fed up with your state, you can always just move to one that is more your liking.

These polls are city slickers voting. They rarely if ever poll in smaller town areas, or even rural counties. My county is 108k and climbing, sits between two major cities receives huge amounts of foreign travel, has two huge colleges(Westminster and slippery rock). A high school that tests the highest in PA every year but we get shadowed by Erie and Pittsburgh in everything. Our voices are faint compared to theirs and we have no power in votes either as Pittsburgh, Erie, Harrisburg and Philadelphia can outvote the entire state of PA in all matters including polls.

So when some Europeans visit they arrive with a better than attitude. Really? You're better than me? If it wasn't for us you'd be speaking German now instead of French, British, Italian. Nope, you are not better than anyone here and we are not afraid to point that out. We have a phrase in regards to a person or a group of people, They think they are better than everyone else. Yeah they do that's why they are alone.

People may disagree with me, but I think the stereotype of Americans being very patriotic is a relatively new concept. I think after 9/11 everyone came together to support our country against the attack against it and as a people we felt closer than ever because we had a common goal and that was supporting the country and showing our love to what we had at the time. Over time, I think it sort of warped into something more...extreme in a way. Especially because of certain influences that may have come out, and the potential for people to be easily influenced by other people's rhetoric and while some people are almost vitriolic and over the top about their so-called patriotism, for a lot of the younger generation, especially the ones who were born significantly after 9/11, they don't see the reason to be patriotic and can even be embarrassed by people who are overtly patriotic and or the idea of patriotism as a whole, because like it or not right now the US has become a very divided country. There is no live or let live, there is you have my opinions, my values, my ideals or otherwise you are a very bad person. There are people on both sides of an argument who want to force people to have their same thoughts and ideals and opinions and the younger generation sees that divide and the concept of patriotism leaves a sour taste in their mouth because this is the exposure they have of it, not what it was during an actually divisive time in the country where people came together organically to show love and compassion to those going through something terrible. So in my opinion, I think at one time the US was a very patriotic country, but I also think at the moment it's far less patriotic than it used to be because people are quick to find the flaws that are out there and obsess over them instead of finding the good things in life and focusing on that instead.

You can spend a lot of time in the US and never see a gun outside of law enforcement. Chances are if you do see one you're in the wrong part of town... I'm pretty sure most people in my town do have one. Nobody brandishes them because that is against the law. A few people open carry, but most people conceal carry or don't carry unless they're hunting. I've been a lot of places in our world and enjoyed myself while there but I'm always happy to be home! Going on a jet isn't the funnest way to travel. It's quite expensive. The seats are narrow and the leg room is short. If you recline your seat you're infringing into someone else's space. But it's the fastest way to cross the Atlantic 😊 I could hop in the car and be in one of 4 different states or Canada within 2 hours. It's amazing how much there is to do and see in our culture less country 😂
