That deep south phrase "Bless your heart" can have so many meanings. Genuine and friendly in some cases, but can also be a substitute for "Wow you're a complete idiot, aren't you." right to someone's face.

Valley girl is very early 80s. The only time I have ever heard anyone talk about a valley girl was on movies or television. Never in real life. So these people who think Californians talk like Valley girls are 40 years behind the times. By the way the valley is referring to the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County so that type of talking was not statewide. You probably wouldn’t hear people from San Francisco talking like that.

I’m in Washington State, we’re the apple growers, also sweet cherries. Oregon grows Pinot Noir grapes which become awesome wine, both states have a lot of agriculture east of the Cascade mountains. Up here people would probably think of coffee (home of Starbucks), Amazon and Microsoft, tech in general, huge national parks boating and sports teams. You are very correct. I watch a lot of Movie reaction channels and there are some reactors who would watch a movie from the 1980s and think that is the way life was without realizing movies are exaggerations of real life. They watched back to the future which was filmed on a movie set and they thought the streets were clean and pristine back in the 80s. From watching old 60s clippings from the beach, they think you go to any beach community in California and it’s going to be a party.

And, sadly people also consider many states by a small group of folks within a major city. Long Island here and if I tell anyone I'm from NY, I always say NOT THE CITY... or they assume that I don't have potato fields literally surrounding me right now and I do! Vineyards too in the past 20 years, since potatoes are worth less than the dirt they're grown in. That's the town I'm in now, where I grew up was well known for it's abundance of duck farms... you never get used to that smell!

Hey @L3WG Reacts! Love your vids, bro! New Jersey anthropologist here, New Jersey actually has seven distinct accents (southwest, northwest, shore, northeast, cape may, pine barrens, central mid-atlantic neutral), but if you’re not familiar with them, they’re difficult to pick up on, aside for maybe the pine barrens accent or possibly the shore accent, which is closer to a New York accent. The northeast accent is extremely close to a Manhattan accent, due to the proximity to NY, so that would be easier to pick up on. Southeastern accent sounds like the Philadelphian accent. Pine Barrens accent is close to a Southern US accent. Northwestern accent sounds like northeastern Pennsylvania (Wilkes-Barre or Allentown). Central accent is more like a generic mid Atlantic accent. Finally, Cape May accent sounds Delawarian, due to the proximity to Delaware. Hope that helps! Keep up the vids, bro! They're so much fun to watch!😎🤘

12:30 I live on the Idaho/Utah border. I’m quite familiar with Mormons. Mormon is a term used to describe followers of The Book of Mormon, a religious text “discovered” or written/translated in New York in the 1820’s. The largest and most recognized denomination of Mormons, are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or just LDS, who led historic handcart companies across the country to settle in the Great Basin Region to flee religious persecutions they were experiencing back East. They settled along the Wasatch Range, the western extent of the Rocky Mountains that runs along the eastern coast of the Great Salt Lake, and attempted to establish the Theocratic State of Deseret. The US government very much opposed these ambitions. The most recognizable trait of Mormons, was the practice of polygamy, from the church’s founding up until 1890, when the US Government threatened to revoke the women pioneers right to vote, which helped Mormons maintain majority in local elections, and seize their religious buildings, including their temple in the Mormon capital, Salt Lake City. The church terminated the practice of polygamy and in return, the US approved statehood for Utah in 1896.

Considering the colorful history, you’ve given a fairly concise accurate account. I just thought I’d fill in some names. Joseph Smith was the originator in New York. He and the first Mormons were driven from there and settled in Nauvoo, Illinois located on the Mississippi River. They weren’t welcome there either and Smith was first arrested and then killed by a lynch mob. This was when Brigham Young took over and led them to Utah. There is a story that they had to wait for the Mississippi to freeze over enough to get their wagons and themselves across to begin their journey. Not surprisingly, every river town between Nauvoo and St. Louis claims to be the one where they crossed. Maybe the truth is recorded somewhere, but everyone in that section of the river wants to be a part of history.

I got lost around Times Square. I asked one lady (with a baby in a stroller) where the street I was going to is. She pointed and said it is that way. I kept walking in the direction she pointed to. I guess I went two blocks past where I was going. She started yelling, ‘HEY!’ From across the street and briskly walked towards me. She said I walked too far and actually walked me back up the street. Another hour earlier that day I got a hotdog from a local vendor. He asked me where I was from. ‘New México.’ I told him. ‘That hotdog is on me!’ He said. Apparently I looked very happy because he said no one smiles at him or makes small talk. My time in NYC was an invaluable experience. Except I wanted to cry because it was raining, dark, wet with tons of walking traffic. I was happy when I finally got back to Jersey, where it was busy but not as stressful as in the city.

When i lived in Burns Oregon for 2 months I realized it's basically Idaho out there. Many parts and of many states can feel more like a neighboring state due to a mixture of politics, lifestyle and outlook. Never went as far west as Bend but places like John Day and Klamath Falls have a lot in common with Idaho and Northern California than Portland and the established image of what Oregon is for a lot of people.

Omg, one of the Americans said that Californians are blondes, and as a blonde Californian myself, I am offended. California is the most diverse state. We have all walks of life here! I personally live in the 3rd most diverse city in the country, and I love living in Sacramento, because of its diversity. I have friends / family of all sorts of different people of different backgrounds. I have Filipino family. My best friend is Mexican. I also work with so many different types of people too. How dare they say California is not diverse. Do not believe that person. We have the sexiest people, for the sheer fact that we have every type of person here. There's someone for everybody's type!

Florida has a tradition of "open government." They call it the "Sunshine law." Essentially it grants open public access to government records. This includes various government documents and even extends to police records as well. This is why you often see a lot of crazy "Florida man" news reports getting passed around. In other words, people in Florida aren't uniquely insane. All states have these sorts of people. The difference is that Florida has open access to public records and the news outlets tend to have fun with that information.

Gulla Guchee food is to die for!! How can you talk southern food and not talk about our bar b que or BBQ. We have pork BBQ or chicken, not beef( cause it's hard to find brisket). Parts of the South is prejudice but it's only in certain areas. Lately I've noticed more black on white prejudice. These younger people are crazy. They have been taught that EVERY problem in their life is because of a white person. I has a crazy black girl just yell at me because I'm white. After her rant I asked her why or how it was my fault she spread her legs repeatedly and had kids by men she couldn't remember or know their names. How did I cause her to have a man that beat her and put her on the curve while he sat in front of the project they lived at and played dominions while her kids in only a drooping full diaper toting a empty milk bottle at 4,3, 2 and toddler age. How did I make her shoot shit in her arm or put stuff up her nose. She just said it was all white people fault. The saddest thing is she really believes this. I know she is just one person and not a great example of her race, but this is being seen more and more. Black people are amazed that they are racist also. Don't get me wrong we also have tons of wonderful non racist people of any color that would be glad to meet you and feed you. We love to feed people in the South. My 6 foot 2 inch 225 lbs son will meet people and they act like he must of been starved as a child cause he needs to eat. Being the well mannered young man thar he is he will graciously accept the food and either eat it there or bring it home. You never go to a older southern lady's home and not accept the food she offers you cause it will hurt her feelings. Yes if you come here you will gain some weight. If they call you wormy they just mean you haven't been eating good in their eyes.

Only people that think the south is racist are northerners and politician trying to pander for votes (Nikki Haley). Funny, they actually interviewed people from her hometown she claimed was extremely racist. Every single one, even the minorities said they've never experienced racism there and everyone is extremely kind. The got some people who went to school with her and they all said she's lying. Yeah, the “Sunshine” laws make basically every government document public unless there’s a specific, compelling reason to keep it secret. If you commit a weird crime in other places, they might make your name public, but in Florida, it’s name, mugshot, ultimately even the evidence against you released. So the national crime beat tends to focus on Florida, because they’re getting interrogation videos handed to them instead of filing written requests to get a copy of the mugshot.
