Yep. Big cities in the US are rough compared to other countries' big cities. Besides, a solid 80% of what's worth seeing in the states lays outside the major cities.

@runrafarunthebestintheworld you really gonna look at skid row, the homeless epidemic, all the junkies, the trash, the terrible air quality, the traffic, the amount of urban sprawl, and the increasing cost of living and tell me LA and SD aren't that bad? From my experience having been to 40 states and 9 countries, yes, big cities in the US suck. Anything over about half a million to 3/4 million takes a nosedive in quality of life and a massive increase in 'big city problems'. Nice places to visit for a brief time to see the sights and history, but certainly not places that are healthy for the psyche long term. Compare that to when I had a place up in NorCal, watching the sunset over the Sierras, looking out over the Sacramento River, across the valley and up at Mt Shasta... Now THAT'S worth seeing in CA... NorCal is the true gem of that state

I’m a bit biased but if you visit the US, I’d recommend checking out the west. Washington State and Oregon in particular are amazing outside of the big cities of Portland and Seattle, and even in the cities themselves it’s not as bad as media portrays. Those 2 states have massive towering mountains, seemingly endless dense forests, long coastlines, and large desert regions.

Almost the only sharp angles in the landscape are man made to create roads. It's not what people think of when they think of Washington State, but it is magnificent!

The Gypsum Sand Dunes don't take a long time to break down. Gypsum is water soluble, and they make drywall for your house out of it. We live 2 miles from a Gypsum mine, and we are on well water, so we have to have a sediment filter because of the amount of gypsum in our water.

Napa and Sonoma Counties are, indeed, a day trip north of San Francisco. Together with Mendocino County, they make up the "wine country" of Northern California (the state has other wine-growing regions, mainly along the central coast around Paso Robles). Just across the Golden Gate Bridge from the city is Marin County, a mixture of upscale suburbs and preserved green spaces, some of which are given over to dairy farming. But if you travel north on State Road 101 eventually you come to Napa and Sonoma Counties (and, if you keep going, to Mendocino). It takes an hour and a half or so. There are many different grape terroirs and Sonoma (and Mendocino) is closer to the coast (on the coast, actually) so it's cooler and more given to Pinot Noir and white wine grapes (there is a sizable champagne grape growing area near the ocean). Napa is the land of Cabernet Sauvignon and, to a lesser extent, Merlot. Incidentally, mixed in with the dairy farms and wine estates in the coastal mountains are some impressive groves of redwood trees including a few that are "old growth" (meaning never logged). And in Mendocino, you enter the "Emerald Triangle", known to officianados for its high quality cannabis.

Napa Valley is about an hour north of San Francisco and also Oakland, where I live (unless traffic is heavy, then it can be longer). I love going up to Napa or Sonoma on the weekend when I want to escape the city for a day. Actually, Wine Country consists of both Napa and Sonoma Counties) Together between the two, the scenery is beautiful, it's a different world. Of course there are all the great wineries with tasting rooms. Also, with all the abundant agricultural land and all the fresh beautiful produce and ingredients, there are several exceptional restaurants with excellent food to go along with the excellent wine. Quite a few of my friends and co-workers also go up there quite often for the wine and food.

Since you're coming to Texas, you wanna do the Texas Triangle, aka a route from Houston, to San Antonio, Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. There are plenty of both major cities and minor towns to see. Also, there is several caves near Austin and San Antonio that you can visit. Especially save time for the metroplex, because it's huge. There are museums, zoos, resturants like Terry Black BBQ in Austin, Medieval Times and Tournament in Dallas, etc.. There are botanical gardens, arcades, just about anything legal you could want in Texas is available. To drink, make sure you are 21, and always have your id/license/passport on you.

Gypsum is a type of mineral that is the base of a lot of stuff like blackboard chalk, fertilizer, plaster, and Drywall. It’s a crystal composite that is very versatile and likely you have seen it in some form or other yet you don’t notice it. Florida on the other hand is mostly Limestone which is mostly for the making of asphalt and roadworks. Terrible stuff as it makes your water very hard and you get lime scale every time you use water. But it’s completely harmless. Limestone is also very much dissolvable in water hence why we worry about erosion every storm and hurricane we get as some limestone could disappear and create sinkholes. The last big sinkhole we had sank at least six acres of land in downtown Orlando creating Lake Lily in the process. That sinkhole took a car dealership and several homes with it. That’s how much we worry.

Chiricahua National Monument in Arizona is another fairly unknown place that is great. Pronounced cherry-cow-ah, it is Apache for "rocks standing up like men", and it is a canyon full of incredible pillars and balancing rocks. Also, Death Valley has much more varied scenery than most people give credit, with deep narrow gullies just like those seen at Antelope in this video, and colorful banded cliffs. Also (during the spring) a boardwalk hike along a tiny stream that comes from a spring and then just soaks into the ground in a short distance, is the entire habitat of beautiful little Pupfish, like guppies in the middle of the desert. Suggestion; DON'T go in summer, it is called Death Valley for good reason. Unless you get off on being in 115° temperature (about 42 C), it is best to go in April or early May.

I visited White Sands Nat'l Park in 1985 as an 11 year old kid. It's very close to Carlsbad Caverns as well. I'm from Southern Illinois and my father had his bi-annual Job Convention out in Albuquerque, NM that year, so we set out to do southern loop trip over 3 weeks I believe it was. So our first destination was Galveston, TX, which is the coastal city due south of Houston. We spent a week there. My sister and I cried when we leff because we loved it there. From there we drove over to San Antonio to see the Alamo. We also wanted to do the River Walk as well, but a big thunderstorm hit not too long after we saw the Alamo, so we got the hell out of there, because it was causing some flash flooding, Never forget that, because we went to a Pharmacy to buy some trash bags to act as rain coats. From San Antonio, we went up to White Sands and Carlsbad on our way out to El Paso. We camped at Carlsbad for several days, while we saw those two sites. And then we drove down to El Paso and camped down there for a few days at a campground off of the last Exit in Texas...or first if you're coming in from the West..Exit #1. Looking at Google Maps, I believe it's still there, but it appears that Exit has grown up a bit in the last 39 years. It was pretty desolate back then, now it appears that there's a whole little town there with 3 truck stops at that Exit. But anyway after we stayed there for a few days, we went shead and headed up to Albuquerque and we stayed there for about a week, which included several activities that the convention put on, including a mountain-side BBQ. But then north of Albuquerque, there's Santa Fe and Taos, a Native American settlement, and we saw an Indian Pow Wow there. Santa Fe is also a neat little town that has a lot of Native American shooz and street venders at it that sell their little trinkets. Most notably their Turquois jewelry, which is very nice, I might add. The thing about foreigners visiting the US, you shoukd decide on what sort of sites you wanna see. Like fo you wanna see the numerous cities? Or the nature sites, the National Parks, efc? Or some of the culture sites like the Civil War or Revolutionary War battlefields and forts, or the aforementioned Native American settlements. If it were me, i'd check out French Tastic's channel where a French girl has come over here and gone to a lot of off the trail kind of places including the Superstition Mountains just east of Phoenix, AZ. I would never think of a European going there. That's where the lost Dutchman Mine is supposed to be and the whole area which is massive is very dangerous to be in as in the past where search parties go out there to look for jt get tailed by people who might knock them off if they get too close for comfort. Years ago, there was a History Channel show about a group of guys that went out there to search for it, and along the way, they spotted somebody tailing them. It's crazy, because this area is a pretty desolate southwestern mounain range and you just can't find people out there if you haven't been constantly tracking them, ya know? But the French gjrl only climbed up into the firsr rocky outcropping at the entrance to look back down into valley where Phoenix is.

Napa Valley is virtually a commuter suburb of San Francisco, especially now that there is SMART rail transit to Sonoma County. I have known people who live in Napa and commutted to the city. Besides the train, there is ferry service from Vallejo near Napa directly to the city. Now I know what you really want to do is talk about what's on the city sidewalks or something, but that is in a very small part (and, believe it or not, there is some progress being made to clean even that area up) of what remains one of America's most blessed-by-nature cities, embellished by man with great dining and high culture. The nearby wine country--and city's substantial number of wine sellers--is just an extra.

James, what does Millie consider to be sexy from her own point of view: really fit, toned, and handsome men displaying their abs, the handsome, fearless, and mysterious cowboy, or the Victoria’s Secret/Maxim model who is the perfect woman?

I'm from the town just east of white sands, in some parts you'll find mammoth tracks and two sets of cave man tracks a women and a child. The surrounding area is also very historical to the south west U.S.A and the state of New Mexico

I think the narrator in this video lives in the Pacific Northwest so this video is biased toward that part of the country.

Where I live--in Rockford, IL, there's the #2 Japanese garden in the US. Molokini Crater looks a bit like where Nemo lived, doesn't it?😀 The last 2 words of Castello de Amarosa were pronounced just fine, but #1 is cah-STAY-oh, if you want to avoid Anglicizing it.
