Thank you Fil for including this great song. Dean Ford rerecorded this song prior to his passing. It was interesting to hear him sing it as an older man comparing it to when he was much younger. It appeared that the lyrics had a different effect to Dean. It was kind of sad for me to see him sing it as an older man as I sat there listening to it as an older man myself. I was happy to see him singing it once again though. It just goes to show how fast time goes in a lifetime and how short our youth is. Rest in peace Dean Ford and thank you to Marmalade for the music.

We believed in World Peace. Vietnam was still on in the background. Assassination of the Kennedys, Martin Luther King- Kent State. Everybody was reflecting on their life. And everybody knew and wanted to change. Every now and then this song plays in my head. The death of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix 1970. Reflections Of My Life- this song really struck a chord. Thanks for doing the review Fil. This is a good piece of art and it evokes an emotional response. We believe in World Peace- we still do. "The world is bad place, a bad place, A terrible place to live." We really wanted to change that. This was soul- white soul.

This song was a staple on jukeboxes/radios during the Vietnam war, checkout the lyrics. The average age of soldiers then was 19 years old. The isoprinciple (music therapy term) meets the mindset that these drafted boys had watching each other get injured and die is staggering. The guitar solo “woman tone” is mournfully on point, too, brilliant. So many elements come together to make this piece perfect for those times. Amazingly great taste to choose this performance for your analysis, love it!

@@tuyetle4846 Thank you for those kind words. Since I commented on that song, I have done a lot of medical research and found that playing drums actually relights the neurons in the brain (albeit temporary) that Parkinson's kills off making movement difficult. From the time I totally lost my ability to play drums in 2020, with extensive practice and help from a few music professionals, I have regained over 90% of what I had lost and now play in a rock band, BackTrax which I formed. My suggestion to cover would not be one band, but rather one singer, Tony Burrows, who was the lead singer of 6 different bands that each had a one hit wonder. He was the singer of Edison Lighthouse ( Love grows where my Rosemary goes), White Plains ( My baby loves lovin), The Pipkins ( gimme dat ding), The First Class ( Beach Baby), Brotherhood of Man ( United we Stand) and The Flowerpot Men with Lets go to San Francisco where two band mates went on to join Deep Purple. Tony sang background as well with everyone from Rod Stewart, Cliff Richard, Tom Jones to Elton John, where he sang backup on Tiny Dancer and Levon. Incredible talent, that many wouldn’t know.

Glad you're doing okay! Awhile back I fell in my garage and banged up my knee. It was about a week before we went to Bob Seger's concert. We had a lot of walking to do, and A LOT of steps to climb. I felt sympathy for people who were much older, walking slowly with canes or holding onto someone. The concert was DEFINITELY worth the pain of climbing the stairs. Great music always makes things better!! 👌💕💕💃

@@robincortez6586 Thanks, Robin! Landed right on my glasses and cheek. Super lucky eyes and teeth okay. I've been real careful ever since. Even gave up coffee, which makes me even more hyper.

One of my friends was with Mungo Jerry for a while and they toured with Marmalade. He said they were a laugh a minute. One of things he said the band members did was to sit at the front during MJ's performance and then stand up with placards showing a number- they scored the performance out of ten!

This and "Easy To Be Hard" get me the most gooey in reminiscence. Such as being on my first slow dances. Long lost youth, loves long lost - all that. It's all in there.

The talent and heart are so extraordinary. Where have these bands gone? Something is missing.
