That's why I tend to not like these videos that generalize what "America" is like. America is about as varied as your willingness to explore it. It's a huge land with so many different subcultures, so many different geographies, and so many different people. There is hardly anything that can be said be universally "American," even values.

My family originally immigrated to America from Mexico, arriving with little knowledge of English. Even now, 27 years later, they only speak the basics. Yet, despite this language barrier, both of my parents were able to start successful businesses-my father as an arborist in tree service, and my mother as a florist. Although my mother’s business was lost due to illness, my father’s continues to thrive, growing steadily each year. I often assist by translating when he needs to communicate directly with clients. This is why I hold such deep love for America. The United States offered us opportunities we never could have imagined. My parents, once poor and struggling with five children, worked tirelessly to overcome their circumstances. Today, they are thriving, even without fluency in English. This is why America is truly the land of opportunity-My beautiful U.S.A. 🇺🇸❤️🦅

Traffic laws can be *very* different depending on the state. None of what she said is a law in California. It's also extremely unsafe to do what she said... and the biggest law in California is to drive safely, in accordance with traffic. If traffic is such that the safest thing to do is illegal, do the illegal and safe thing. You're actually more likely to be stopped for doing something legal but unsafe.

So if you think going slow as a turtle is more efficient, it’s not really. Sorry. However, when I was taking a Citizen Police Academy, they had a driving simulator so you could see what it would be like driving a police car with lights and sirens, running lights (they're allowed to with lights/sirens), and trying not to get hit by stupid drivers. During my "drive," I kept screaming "DON'T HIT ME!!!" and the cops behind where laughing their a$$es off. Being in the south, most people are kind - sharing a wave if you let them in before you. But inside a major city (Atlanta), all bets are off. How many times have I screamed "GO-WAH!" (yes, two syllables) when someone is texting at a green light.

American Bread is VERY sweet if it's processed. However, every grocery store sells fresh baked bread that isn't sweet. And you can buy no sugar added bread, as well a million varieties and organic. A normal grocery store has an entire AISLE of processed bread, buns and rolls (Usually with lots of porcessed baked snack cakes and brownies nearby as these are made and delivered by the same vendors, who must stock their own shelves.) As well as having a bakery filled with european style breaa from foccaccia to baguettes to telera rolls (used to make central american sandwich called Tortas). So, not ALL bread is sweet. But, regulady processed sandwich bread tastes almost like brioche bread if you have tasted that.

Even to book an appointment or order food, we are usually put on hold or go through a “if you wish to know store hours, press 1. To know the address press 2”. Also all fast food places have an app to order food. AC and heating is automatically provided as long as it is paid for. I heard a Brit complain about paying more in rent just for AC.

Only driving tips are as follows: 1. on the highways/interstate the left lane is for criminal speed, do not get into that lane unless you're prepared to go well over the speed limit. People will get very pissed if you block the left lane by going slow. 2. Depending on the state, always remember that drivers can be armed and throwing the bird or aggressive driving, road rage can escalate quickly. Im from FL and its like nascar on the highways with no indicators lol

Sweetness in bread can easily occur if you use dry active yeast as opposed to fresh yeast. The dry active type requires tepid/warm water and sugar to activate the yeast. Dry active yeast also is minute in comparison to how fresh yeast you need to use for the same purposes.

I've been to Northern Ireland twice on tour. Had some free time in (London)Derry and in Belfast. Walked the Walls in Derry with a local guide and saw the Peace Bridge. Saw Dunluce Castle. Did the Giant's Rock Pile both times, very cool. Missed out on the Titanic Experience as it was under construction? upgrade? remodel? last time I was there. Saw the murals on the buildings. Saw the wall. Been to the Belleek factory. St Patrick's Cathedral. Ulster American Folk Park. Stayed overnight in the Ballygally Castle Hotel and another night in Belfast. Saw the Garda fortresses, I mean stations. Loved it. Been to Downpatrick. Took the ferry once to Scotland out of Belfast.

I'm from the US, Alabama specifically. My wife is from Belfast; so I have lived through all of her culture shocks. We've a son that speaks both southern US and Belfast accents, it's hysterical. "Haow naow brown cow" vs "Hi ni brine cai" . Daddy, we gonna go downtown?" Vs "Mum are wez goin dinetine?"

You have to be careful with road rage here, the angry guy in the other car may have a gun and he might shoot you--it's happened a number of times.

The name a lot of people call the one ply cheap toilet paper is John Wayne toilet paper. You have to be tough to use it. lol I'm of the opinion that if you are going to move somewhere, learn the language spoken.

Packaged, pre sliced bread (sandwich bread) usually has added sugars because sugar acts as a preservative and increases shelf life. We also have other bread varieties (including fresh breads) that don't have the additional added sugar.

The large portion sizes in restaurants is a fairly recent thing, to justify menu price increases or to make the high prices not look so bad. Portion sizes in recipe books and in regular size frozen dinners, are normal size. In restaurants, it doesn't cost much more to add more salad or beans, or rice or paste, that can make it large and seem not so bad for the menu prices.

i'm a storm spotter in Northeastern Oklahoma. i drive in the worst driving conditions imaginable in effort to tell others how bad it is before it gets to them. rain, heavy rain, raining sideways, hail, high winds, winds 100+ mph ( personal record of 115 mph. inflow jet on the back of a rain wrapped tornado ), heavy fog so thick that you can't see more than 8 feet, ice, freezing rain, snow, heavy snow, snow squall reducing visibility to 12 feet, fire, heavy smoke, sub-zero temperature. in short with the exception of volcanic ash related events if you can name it... i've probably driven in it. and yes Oklahoma gets hurricanes too. usually they aren't very strong with winds in the 60ish mph range but they dump a lot rain and cause flooding.

They put all that automatic stuff in bathrooms to save money. It only flushes once, and the sink doesn't keep running while you wash your hands, and you don't accidentally take 4 paper towels before realizing one would do the job, etc.

I've been to Ireland, but the tour didn't take us to Northern Ireland, probably because they considered it unsafe for tourists. The furthest north we got was Dublin. We were there in September, and it was absolutely green and beautiful and the people made us feel welcomed. 🤠

The extra sugar in SOME breads, not all, is about a one half to one teaspoon per loaf. Sugar is a natural preservative that can keep your bread products from spoiling. They last about 3 times longer. Salt is the other natural preservative so you will see it in many prepared foods, smoked meats and canned foods. these two preservatives have been used for hundreds of years. Read up on it.

Why are you going to the same place? Central Florida isn't even a good example of America. The US official measurement system is metric, established in 1974. We just refuse to use it. Her only comparison is Argentina. It's not illegal to coast to a red light.

4:06 I say the same thing when people talk about how "sweet" American bread is. In the US, there are several sugar- and sweetener-free bread brands. I agree that Americans have a sweeter taste palate and often add sugar to their foods; however, I'm declaring "dessert American sandwich bread" an internet myth people repeat for content.

I think it may be because our commercial bread usually has lots of high fructose corn syrup in it. Everything is so sweet that we don't taste it anymore.

Regular white bread in the US is sweet. They add anywhere between 2-4g of sugar per slice of bread, but I don’t think all breads do, just mostly the white breads you find that are pre-sliced for sandwiches. Fresh baked almost never uses sugar. They claim it helps with shelf life supposedly
