Alice, no one will be "bothered". We don't even have that concept over here. All you have to do is make eye contact and smile and the Americans will start jabbering away. The second they hear your accent watch...their eyes will go wide and you'll be part of their family in a nanosecond.
@davidellis13742 ай бұрын
👍🙂❤️ Your accent will be an automatic “attention getter”. Americans love the British accent. As soon as people hear it, they will instantly want to get to know more about you. Americans love to “show off” their country. Don’t be surprised if strangers offer to help you. Thanks for sharing your videos. 👍🙂❤️

Yeah. We have Uber and Lyft. Some cities also have trains and/or buses for travel within the city or to nearby cities. Driving is still the easiest. There are areas where you *can* walk around to things, but when you get out into suburban sprawl, things are a bit spread out and it can be a bit of a long walk somewhere.

It's an enormous country. The area affected from Helene covers the amount of space in the entire UK.! roads destroyed that are the only access to some of the areas, especially the Appalachians.Towns washed away. FEMA has done an amazing job considering the difficulty. Every state has sent electricians, linemen, more bodies plus many private companies that pitched in with smaller helicopters to deliver supplies for isolated communities.

I beg to differ about the tsunamis. We DO get them on the West coast. Look up the tsunami in The Pacific Northwest on March 27, 1964. It hit from Alaska all the way to California...We've had many smaller tsunamis since then but the 64 tsunami was very much as devastating as Japan's. I've lived through just about every possible weather event in the US From Mt St Helens eruption, Earthquakes, blizzards, hurricanes here in Florida, tornadoes in New York and Iowa, floods, wild fires in Oregon, and so much more...even the King Waves (happening now) that are monstrous waves.
@rocknroller772 ай бұрын
Tsunamis are a reality in the US. When i lived in Washington state, there are tsunami routes and you have tsunami drills in school. As a kid, we even had to evacuate to higher ground. However, it ended up only being a 2 foot wave. Also, Alaska had a horrible tsunami that wiped out alot of Anchorage in 1964.

10:50 "America's just kind of better in every single way. Literally, there's nothing we have over you." A quick google search reveals that N Ireland has a government healthcare system for all citizens, government mandated paid vacation of up to 6 weeks and up to 52 weeks of paid maternity leave for workers. The US has none of these social programs. So no, the US is not better "in every single way." Not having a government healthcare system makes life scary as hell, and extremely limiting, for tens of millions of Americans. He should simply say that he had a nice vacation instead of making blanket statements about a country that he's not qualified to make. Vacationing in a country is not the same as living in a country. This shouldn't be too difficult to grasp.

Not to worry guys. If you want to be able to partake of the small talk with us here in the USA, you will not be disappointed! They only way you could possibly be disappointed is if you did NOT want anyone to small talk with you cause, that ain't gonna happen! Be prepared to have people want to talk with you, and all the time! My hubby and I went to the craft store the other day to pick up some ink pens for me, and we stood in the isle talking with a stranger for 40 minutes! That really is just who we are.

Texas is a tough one to visit. The state is massive, and you would have to fly out to visit elsewhere. My suggestion? As a Floridian? You need two weeks. Fly into San Diego (or LA), rent a car, and drive north into Oregon. This drive is mostly along the coast. You can even hop off for an overnight side trip to Vegas. This is the most gorgeous part of the country, the Pacific Northwest…but avoid spending much time in LA or San Francisco. These big cities have turned to shit. See “My New Zealand Family” latest uploads. They rented a huge RV, but you can certainly do it in a sedan. Also, you don’t have to worry about hotel reservations. There are plenty of reasonably priced motels and hotels along the way, so you can play it by ear. So… Make your flight reservations now, reserve your rental car now, and get that paid for. You now have a date to look forward to! Between now and then, squirrel away the money to cover your hotel and other expenses. There’s nothing more motivating and exciting than at least having your flights booked!

It was marinara sauce. I myself thought marinara sauce was a global recipe taken from Italy. You really don't need a car in the big cities but you really need a car outside the cities

You need to get around the country other than driving or taking a plane. We do have the national train system that runs around the country or you could take a greyhound bus. That's what the company is called greyhound. And the bus system goes all over the country. It is not feasible too have a train system like the UK or europe

I love Adam Couser! I have subscribed to his channel for years. He is hilarious with his reactions especially with his Northern Ireland perspective.I think the tomato like sauce Adam was talking about at Applebees was SALSA which is a very popular condiment in Mexican and TexMex foods such as put on top of tacos or burritos, enchiladas , quesadillas and as a dip for tortilla chips. Also Starters/Appetizers at restaurants are meant to be shared which is why the portions are large or you can eat the Starter/appetizer as the main meal if you choose as well. I think the random man trying to sell his dog might have been because of the hurricane that was coming.

Why do Europeans get so wrapped up with Texas. It's nice but it's hot and flat plus a lot of empy spaces. They have nice Brisket BBQ but they're mainly beef BBQers. True pit BBQ is pork and offered along with beef in the South. They have the rodeo which is fun to watch, College Sports as well as Professional Sports are available. But we're big and quite diverse in landscapes, cities and people. The South to me is the best.

America is huge, think of all of Europe, from Uk and Ireland all the way to the Russia border. So when you all visit countries near you to us its like visiting another state here. Also people are different in every state. But omg you visited NY, LA and Vegas! Not exactly the best places to see the real America. Visit the shores of the Pacific, take a trip to the giant redwoods, be careful in any big city. No we don’t have passports, we are still trying to see all of our own country. Also somewhat scary in other countries. Most people I think don’t like us. All the rules, don’t smile, don’t laugh. Don’t be too loud, look up the laws they could jail you. Don’t be so American! Oh . Do not look happy.
