@@patwelch8187 what is wrong with that? it is always a part of self expression, letting out your inner animalistic/darker side. metal vocalists are not afraid to express their emotions to the full. it's fun, it's relief, it's just... quite normal. returning to that primal state is very natural.

That voice, the lyrics, the clip, omg. So, ofcourse I wanted to find out more of these guys. First albums a bit too heavy, but now, I even like that lol. Last album, I love love love it. Wish I could give multiple thumbs up. You don't have to pick between this and The Sound of Silence. They're both fabulous, just different. Oh, and you're just starting... there's so much more. I LOVE this band and David's voice so much! Yes! Go with A Reason To Fight! Ok ... here's a thought ... review two different versions of that song in the same session, back-to-back. There is a beautiful, artistic black and white video you will love, given how much you're enjoying their produced videos. It's an anthem and will give you a chance to hear the song. Then immediately watch the live video that includes stories the fans share of their own fights with their own demons. Both awesome ... but different. Both worthy of review. Just a thought. Loving this path!

David Draiman's vocals always give people goosebumps!! Btw Taylor Family....except for "covers" of course, did you know that Danny (lead guitar) and Mike (drums) and now John (bass) write all the guitar and drum music to the songs.... they then give it to David....who then writes both the melodies and lyrics to the songs! Oh, then he sings them!! Lol Loved your reaction.
@brittvdr8062 жыл бұрын
Dan is also writing with David. It's not just David.
@ruthiewohlforth54642 жыл бұрын
@@brittvdr806 ..I've seen the video(s) where Danny has said exactly that. If however he thinks a different sentence or word would fit better, he lets David know and David usually agrees. Danny used to send it to David over the internet,so he could put a melody to it, then the lyrics. Then they'd get together to work out the bugs. Now they like bouncing stuff off one another and get together earlier. Dan's statement....almost word for word.

I was just looking through some older CDs that I had in my attic and I saw a recommendation for you! I think you should check out Billy Gilman's "One Voice." He was a child country singer when he released the song way back in 2000. It will make you and cry and smile all within 4 minutes. Please seriously consider watching it. Billy was 10 years old so he still has that "'Boy Choir" quality to his voice. He won Favorite New Country Artist of the Year at age 11 in 2001!

I am 73 years old and a heavy metal band is not something I would have ever listened to. BUT, I heard Disturbed’s, The Sound of Silence not knowing they were a heavy metal band. When I spoke to my 18 year old granddaughter and told her of my love of Disturbed’s The Sound of Silence she got excited that her Grandma would be a fan of Disturbed and so hip. She then played their first big hit of Down with the Sickness and I was shocked. The second release of the song is better since the first one was so misunderstood because it was supposed to be about people that are different not being accepted. Then while researching reactions to Disturbed I came across their one, Hold on To Memories, which the live official video is better, and was amazed. That song will be play at my funeral. You just mentioned that your next reaction will be to A Reason To Fight, but to get the full meaning of that song you have to react to the official live video or you will miss out on the full meaning and what that song is meant to do for their fans. I went back to actually read the lyrics to their past songs and almost every one of them has such a deep meaning that isn’t about the shock of the music, but something heartfelt for us all. This band truly cares about the people that love them. For the fun side of Disturbed, but probably not something you would want to react to, have a laugh watching this kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJzEo3p5jtBsqpo

I just love Disturbed, and I have to say that The Sound of Silence gives me chills all over. But so does also A Reason to Fight. As Melly Lynn writes, it is made two videos. I love that the band is making songs about important topics like depression, suicide and addicition and raise awarness about mental health.

Yet another great reaction Craig, I'm so happy you have ventured down this rabbit hole. A reason to fight is a great song and message, I agree with Melly Lynns suggestion that you should do both the official video and live version in one review, but it is kind of a step back on your journey to the harder side, having said that please still review it. Disturbed have so many layers and which I prefer depends on how I'm feeling, so I can't choose and I go very soft (uninvited guest) right through to the hardest. I see alot of people are suggesting inside the fire, a brilliant song but a warning the video is a hard one to watch as it deals with suicide.

"Something about his voice. Especially in this song. It makes you feel POWERFUL. His voice kind of... it feels like it gives you POWER." You called it, brother. David Draiman went through hell after his girlfriend committed suicide - that's basically the whole Asylum album, the desperation to escape the Asylum of grief from the worst shit imaginable. Then next up came this: The survivor's charter. Indestructible. One simple message - I got through. You can too. Keep going, no matter what.
