One of my favorite details is during the end montage we see that keeley's employees have their desks faced together when before they were all spread out, and the first thing Ted and Beard did when they got to their office in episode one is push their desks together. My favorite easter egg of this episode is the reference to the Japanese art form called Kintsugi.. It is a form of art that uses gold to fix broken pottery to show that beauty can also be broken or something along those lines and they fixed the BELIEVE poster with gold glitter and glue to symbolize that.. They referenced it when Rebecca was visiting the psychic and the psychic asks her if she is familiar with the art form..

That something can be more beautiful, and stronger, after it's been broken and repaired. A metaphor for most of the characters in the series.
@Iam74YL0R2 ай бұрын
One of my favorite Easter eggs/call backs is that Roy, Nate, Beard repaired the "Believe" sign with Kintsugi. Kintsugi is using gold to repair the damage of a piece. Philosophically it is done not to forget that the piece was broken but to instead honor that the piece was broken and yet built back together stronger. So like that of kintsugi pottery, AFC Richmond is a team that was broken, but was put back together through belief in themselves and each other to be stronger now. Nearly every major character follows this character arc from Ted (broken from divorce and honestly past childhood trauma), Rebecca (broken from the divorce), Jamie (broken from emotionally abusive father), Roy (broken from lack of purpose after no longer being the footballer he was but also being emotionally closed off), Nate (broken from feeling of inadequacy through childhood and struggling with how to both fulfill is potential and his life) & so many more. It is through Ted's belief and the AFC Richmond community, that they were able to put themselves together stronger but they never pretend like their past never happened. Instead they acknowledge it and as Higgins says strive to "always work towards better".
@Iam74YL0R2 ай бұрын
For me Rebecca's arc is the best in the show. She is hurt at the beginning of the series and in a spiral of hurting those around her. However she is also trying desperately to hide that she is hurt. By season 2 Ted has pulled her out of that spiral but the events of her past (Rupert) still affect her thoughts and actions in a negative way. She is not able to accept it and move on. By season 3 she eventually learns to accept the past but no longer let that affect her future interactions. She becomes happier and healthier. In doing so she is also able to help new Rebecca and other recognize the abuse in a relationship and begin to move on. She is paying it forward when she could have had every right to turn them away. What is important is she couldn't do it on her own. She needed Ted, and Keeley to understand her, support her but help her recognize the flaw in this thinking. She realized she needed Higgins and to reconnect with her old relationship she lost. She also recognized that it wasn't just her relationship with Richard that was affecting her but also her relationship with her mother/parents that she was hiding. Most importantly it showed that talking to others, building those bonds and relying on then in times of need, is the most effective way to begin to overcome any trauma. It is something everyone should take to heart but it was also realistic experience for how to overcome a traumatic experience. Brilliant writing and one of the fee times an actor has overwritten the initial appearance in my head. At first I thought she was always going to be Septa Modella "Shame women" from Game of Thrones".

@darkhelmett95412 ай бұрын
I love how Jaime pulled his portion of the “believe” sign out of the book Ted got him in season 1. The same day he gave Roy “A Wrinkle In Time.” Roy ended up reading it to his niece fairly quick and came to a realization. Jaime kinda laughed it off. Glad to see him still have it after 3 seasons, a different club and a reality show. I think Nate realized after the talk with his dad that he just didn’t need the accolades and attention anymore. At the end of season 1 he thought Ted was stealing all his ideas and not giving him proper attribution nor attention. But now he can just sit back and do what he does best, strategy. Oh yea. And the final montage song… “Father and Son” by Cat Stevens…
@jonathanwyman94022 ай бұрын
Yeah, if you put egos aside, having Roy at the top, as a manager of the people and the culture of the club makes sense. Roy even says (about Nate) that he's good at all of the things that Roy isn't. Hey guys ~ long time lurker, first time commenter :-) I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your enjoyment of the lightning in a bottle that is Ted Lasso. There is only one thing better than watching others discover Ted Lasso for the first time and, of course, that is watching it for the first time yourself. I’ve loved seeing the series through your perspectives and have very much enjoyed your insights into the series’ scenes and episodes. What the creators of Ted Lasso did over those three seasons broke the mold for “great TV,” in my opinion. As Dr. Sharon says, early in the second season, “there’s a wonderful atmosphere here. [Everyone is] thoughtful and kind, and they actually listen to each other.” I think that was true, as well, of the creators and cast of Ted Lasso, and that is among the best of what sets the series apart. More striking to me, though is the way that not just Ted but, actually, most of the characters “lift” each other up, gently exhorting one another to be the “best versions of themselves.” That, along with their wonderfully pervasive tendency to “lift” references from multiple facets of both cultures ~ theater, music, movies, books ~ is what inspired me and my friend and co-creator to write the _Lift It Like Lasso_ series of immersive word puzzle books based on the series. It also kind of spoiled me for most other series TV for a good while, but I agree that the ending was fair and satisfying, and it left us with the distinct feeling that these real people would continue on with their real lives. I love that. (btw: about the Roy, Keeley, Jamie triangle? I like to imagine that it ends up with Keeley and Roy as one couple and Jamie and Roy’s “fit” doctor sister as another ;-D) Finally, I’d like to say that the two of you have a great dynamic here, a relationship that’s remarkably easy and comfortable to be in the room with. Thanks for that, as well. Here’s hoping for more Ted-like series for you to share with your audience. Barbecue Sauce.

I have to say I enjoyed your following and reacting to Ted Lasso virtually as much as I enjoyed the actual production. Now that you’ve concluded, I’ll say something about what you both reacted to when you realized (about 16 minutes into your video) that AFC Richmond finished second. It is also relevant to something the show has made earlier references to: “Major League” the film. In that film, we never really learn whether the Cleveland Indians win the World Series, but they do win the pennant. As you probably know that’s winning everything within their American League before playing the winner of the National League in the final World Series. Both conclusions are satisfying, but leave something dangling so to speak about things to come that we don’t see. Been following your other reaction videos and I especially like the one where you explored the different American baseball parks. Keep it up guys!

I won’t speculate but to say that for three seasons we had no idea what was coming yet the writers and the actors delivered 100% perfection every time. I just want more of that. 🏃🏼♀️➡️🏃🏾♀️➡️🏃🏻♀️➡️⚽️🥅🏟️

I apologize in advance to anyone that has already read a similar post I have made on other reactions to Ted Lasso. Women’s soccer is growing all over the world right now. Nowhere is this as clear as in the US and Britain (with both teams having more success than the mens teams). The popularity of women’s sports overall is at an all-time high, and the Paris Olympics has created a great interest in women professional athletes. I don't see a season 4, I see a whole new show based around Richmond WFC (women's football club). I would call the team (and the series), the Lady Greyhounds (sponsored by Twinings Lady Grey Tea, of course). If Ted Lasso was about fathers and toxic masculinity, Richmond WFC would be about mothers and women supporting each other. A team of women could include daughters, sisters, and players dealing with having and raising children as professional athletes. I see the series as centered around Rebecca and Keeley. Rebecca is now a stepmom to a rapidly growing girl. Maybe by season 2, Keeley is thinking about being a single mother. (Who does the baby look like, Roy or Jamie?) There could be places for Shannon (the girl playing football in the park) and Nora (Sassy's daughter). One way I would include all of the present players is that the team establishes a mentoring program between the players on the men's side and with newly arrived players from their home countries. There would be funny moments and touching ones. Think of the comic possibilities with Nate, Beard, and Roy all taking a turn at trying to coach the woman's team with disasterous results. Maybe by season three, the Lassos all move to England so that Ted can coach the Lady Greyhounds to a championship and bring it all full circle.

Easter eggs for a potential Season 4/continuation/spin-off... If you noticed the tabloid in the airport, Zava came out of retirement and signed with LAFC of MLS. As Nate is still in a subordinate role, he is available for hire. Ted, by this point, is the General Manager of his hometown Sporting KC. Given the MLS habit of hiring and signing recycled European managers and players (as well as Ted's admiration of Nate's knowledge), he hires Nate. Nate is forced to grow beyond his "I belong here (England)", because he will obviously be working in a different country. Nate grows in his ability to connect with people, matching his technical and tactical prowess. In parallel storylines, Richmond revert to mediocrity in the Premiership, but somehow manage to catch fire in the Champions League. Meanwhile, Sporting KC under Nate eventually overcome LAFC and Zava (after several pummelings) and go on to win the CONCACAF Champions Cup. With both Richmond and Sporting KC crowned as champions, they wind up facing each other in the FIFA Club World Cup. Bonus: Sporting KC sign one or two Richmond players with whom we're already familiar - I'm guessing Jan Maas and Colin. I should get a job in Hollywood. This is good I'm laying down here. (Obviously, a comically tongue-in-cheek observation).
