@@mk2vrswap he's got a lot of natural charm and really controls the dialogue here In a very masculine way, even though there is a femininity to is features.Clearly a confident guy. he decided to touch on the semantics in this stuff loosely, lightly and focus more on a cheeky narrative of "offending each other, or not," which cleverly distracted from any offence that the semantics of the issues might cause. Contrast this with the French guy in 1 of the next videos, who really blundered by making "blunt" secondary jokes about the semantics in some of the stereotypes of Asians, which drew "MORE" attention to the offensiveness of the semantics involved and actually inflamed the resentment with the 3 Asian girls in that episode. *Actually, Emanuel is in some episodes of "awesome world", where he shows an even more electric dynamic with a couple of Korean girls

People are missing the point is to why these questions offend.Emanuel doesn't seem to be aware of the barbs to Britain from these criticisms. The whole point in the "coming Home" frustration, is that the English invented football, just like they invented golf, rugby, cricket, hockey, snooker and prize fighting (, boxing) yet other countries are better than them currently, as with all of these sports. that's why there was the statement about "creativity", linked to food, to contrast the thing that Brits are most well-known for (innovation) with what they are most abused for (their food). They have a highly inventive cultural history, when you consider they were the 1st free society (100 years before the French Revolution), and their political, economic and legal structures were the prototypes for all those following (including USA - the USA founding fathers were all British citizens).Then of course they created the steam engine and train to start the Industrial Revolution and therefore pioneered all fuel based, mechanical, vehicular and automated technology. As for the French - the smelly analogy was because there has always been a rumour that the French don't wash every day, which is probably as outdated as the idea that the Brit's have bad teeth, which is a stereotype from British sailors not having enough Vitamin C In the 1600s

I find that the stereotypes about the Brits and the French are the most outdated, simply because both of their cultures have the longest sequence of prominence and dominance, e.g. "at least" 500 years of recognition in all parts of the world and especially when warring against each other. Hence the Brit's bad teeth myth, is from back in the 1600s when the sailors in the Royal Navy were called "limeys", due to needing to take the Limes with meals because they weren't getting enough vitamins D in their diet and started getting scurvy on a wide scale, on the high seas.This started when theya were trading internationally especially through the East India company (1608+). Brits don't have bad teeth "now", it's a myth because the other Anglophone nations, in particular, 150+ years ago referred to them as "limeys"
@reineh3477
@reineh3477 Жыл бұрын
Lime, scurvy.. you are thinking of vitamin C. In Swedish schools we were taught that British sailors had bad teeth 4 - 500 years ago, then they learned to eat things with vitamin C. These days I believe they are like most other European countries.

Every sailor had that problem back in the day but English sailors were outstanding. Britishes have ugly teeths because of your mesolithic europeans genepool (Aka megslithic europeans, Stonehenge). The paradigmatic fenotype of mesolithic people is pretty much Mr. Bean. Of course you have a large admixture of Celtic people and later Germanic but still the mesolithic blood is strong among britts. The most distinguishable treat of mesolithic people is their lack of wisdom tooths, so you can guess why a high rate of mesolithic gene pool translates into higher rates of ugly teeths conpared with Europe

The stereotypes on teh french are much more recent, and date mostly from ww2. For example, the stinky people, and hairy girls, date from 44-45, when the millions soldiers met a starved civilian population for which soap had turned into a luxury good. I remember the account of an american soldier who entered a northern french city (brest maybe? can't remember which one) where the civilians who were still there, mostly women and elderly, had to hide for weeks in sewers during the fights against the germans. Said soldier said that this was his first sighting of french people, and that they looked barely humans. As there would be no other time such influx of people would come (particularly americans), this left a longstanding reputation.

@@romaingillet2526 You probably didn't try any other meals than by the sound of it. Well British food has some good pies for instance. Shepards pie and steak and kidney (the kidney is a lot nicer than it sounds) and in general, British food tends to more fairly good at being what you would basically call hearty filling food, the pies being mainly responsible for that. For instance some fictions here are there will occasionally have that skilled granny in a beutiful country side cottage cook up a lovely pie or cake, well British pies will fit in very nicely. Most of my favourite meals are still foreign but I still have a fair portion that also are british. Most brits find Shepards pie to be much nicer to steak and kidney but I personally see steak and kidney pie to be a lot more worthy of trying. Sheppards pie is basically beef soaked in gravy and topped with mashed potato while streak and kidney is filled with diced beef, diced kidney, onions and also soaked in gravy saurce and topped with a nice thin pastry shell. There is also the sunday roast which usually includes either roasted lamb or beef along along with roasted veg in the form of carrots, pies and brocoli, and raosted potatos along with yorkshire puddings and again, gravy saurce. Yorkshire puddings are very popular and are basically puddings made with a batter of eggs, flour and water with a nice golden brown to with and be soft and springy in the middle. If you don't know what they look like than just look them up. Than there is the english breakfast with consists of sausage, bacon, egg, beans, black pudding, tomatos and toast and all of these good together very naturaly. Other meals include sausage and mash and when you cover the mash in gravy it makes the gravy so much nicer. What partly makes our meals nice is the gravy saurce that we largely rely on. While it make appear at first as though we are far too reliant on gravy this actually tastes different depending on what meat you mix it with or if you are just serving it with it's granules instead. Other include thr sausage and how the gravy complments the meat in general. The english roast is easily the most popular of the british foods though fish and chips do come in a close second and which I personally prefere myself. Hope I have explained this all clearly enough for you.

@@romaingillet2526 England has many great trades, but they wouldn't be so appreciated as French Foods because their inception was mainly to be filling due to the cold and rainy autumn's and winters, back in the day when there was no central heating or mod cons. Other than pies, they have Lancashire hotpot, various types of English stew, Cornish pasty, bubble and squeak, Welsh rarebit, English Style Poachhed and Scrambled eggs, Roast Dinner with Yorkshire Pudding and vegetables, Bangers and mash, toad in the hole, Jacket potato with Various ingredients. If You go to places outside of the big city in England. You can go to restaurants that will do home-made pies with vegetables, side dish, of incredibly refined taste and quality, very succulent pastry with different combinations of home-made constituents. I have supposition with parfum n before when in Paris the people made the big commission by the window (there are 200 years). For football, the English league n culture of football, that's truth but if we talk about World cup or European cup u are really far than u. 🇫🇷 💪 A lot of stereotypes for french people are not really truth or out of context. The last "cliché" was truth, in generally we are rude (of course we not injured when we eat, work or with family) n in Paris u can add no gentlemen. For UK, yeah, makeup for girl,... Woaaaaa. Fun fact: Christopher Merrett - a scientist, physician, naturalist and metallurgist documented the invention champagne, in the Cotswolds in 1662 and explained the process.Don Perignon, was the marketeer who managed to brand and sell it on a large-scale, but the process had already been invented

@@Rowlph8888What does commentary have to do with it? and besides what you say is partly wrong. First of all, champagne is not a specific drink but the name of a type of sparkling wine, so to say that Christopher Merrett invented champagne is totally stupid and wrong. Second, he only discovered that by adding sugar to wine (which grapes do not contain a high concentration of sugar in) he can create during fermentation a sparkling wine that does not require expensive or difficult techniques, and again this hypothesis is discussed. but he by no means invented sparkling wine. Sparkling wine was already known in Europe long before, but very often it was obtained unintentionally. But this “failed” wine began to appeal to the French nobility in particular and it was therefore the French who began to make wines whose characteristic was to be sparkling. Forgive me for being so serious

@@CT5555-tb9ob Dude, the facts don't care about you feelings and you are distorting, and trying to demean something far more advanced than your narrative". Don't get sentimentally attached o this kind of stuff, because it doesn't matter at the end of the day… But credit should be given where is due…and several creative, maverick innovators in England were practising with this and contributing to an eventual "process", not just Meritt - here is only one quote. . "The Knight Who Invented Champagne is the story of King James I, Admiral Sir Robert Mansell and Sir Kenelm Digby (and a few others) and the part they all played between 1615 and 1632 in revolutionising the production of glass. The changes they helped bring about led to the development and production of stronger glass that could be used for making bottles that would withstand the pressure caused by a secondary-fermentation in the bottle. By 1662 we know that it was a common practice by cidermakers, vintners and coopers to add "raisins and sugar" to wine and cider at bottling to start a secondary fermentation in the bottle. All of this happened several years before Dom Pérignon, often credited with ‘inventing Champagne’, took up his position as cellarer at the Abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers."

And in the current team some players from "old colonies" as you said are de 2sd or 3rd generation born in France like Mbappé's Mom who was Born In Paris suburb, other are half French (native) half Immigrant parents like Matteo Guendouzi. Plus dont forget those French native who plays for foreign teams like Laporte in Spain, Delort in Algeria, Romain Saiss in Morocco, Guerreiro in Portugal etc etc (in the last WC 37 players were born in France).

I'd like to share thoughts. First, Lucie is beautiful. France is definitely the better soccer nation. Napoleon was one of the greatest leaders of all time. There should be more books on the incredible Joan of Arc. There are mountains of books on the great things about France. France is truly a great nation. But think about how much Britain has dominated the world the last 200 years. We all speak english right now because of the British Empire. Alot of our best movies and music are British. Brits, I say to you, who cares if your soccer teams lose the next 100 years? You have alot to be proud of. As much as I admire the British, of all powers, they made one huge mistake which we will all pay for. China simply wanted to stop its poor citizens from being addicted to opium supplied by Britain. In response, Britain waged two opium wars which raped and humiliated China in the process. I do not believe China would have even become vulnerable to communism if it weren't for Britain. It was a weak nation that was easily exploited by communism. Before that, China did not do one thing wrong to the West. China actually just wanted to be left alone. I believe Britain is the most benevolent imperial power and again I admire the British so much, but they should not have messed with China. China will have their revenge and we are seeing it. Elon Musk said China's economy will be 2 to 3 times America's one day. Even if it's only double, then it's all over. You think they are belligerent now? By then, they will simply do what they want. That's why the West MUST WAKE UP AND STOP TRADING WITH CHINA. I can't believe the West even allows anything made in China. Who cares if we have to pay double and triple for our products? If we keep strengthening the economy of China, we are doomed. I could write a whole other post on this topic too, but another reason for China's rise is the simultaneous decline of the West. The West has woke, left wing insanity. They seem to have thrown common sense out the window. the West is like a man with cancer but still able to function. I oppose the evil Chinese govt as you should all. But I believe we need to analyze history and each country objectively. China did not start this fight, but they will certainly finish it and I believe our only hope will be God because America will be too weak to save us by then. Thanks for reading my post.
