The intercity train at the beginning took an interesting route to brighton! Didn't know they used to go through Olympia and Clapham Junction.

Yes, such workings were introduced in the 1980s by BR and i believe at their peak were around 6 a day each way. Now i don't think any go that way.....

@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus 1979 was the year they actually started, they only served Clapham Junction between 1986 & 1994. Plus they only started serving Kensington Olympia from May 1986 when the District line started a regular shuttle service there. Services were withdrawn for good in December 2008!

Yes, they had finished in Scotland and NSE grabbed most of them (res got 4 and by 1992 NSE had even got its hands on all 4 of them!) so the 50s were only booked on the Exeters, although my upload here shows a rogue one out on an Oxford or Newbury kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKiZk5WPYr19opI

No, they were under construction and Turbo's were introduced to the Great Western lines in 1992. The early Turbos did arrive in 1991 and were for the Chiltern Line, i do have one on test on vid at West Ruislip this summer.....
