Too sentimental, predictable and (sorry) boring for me this. I think Hollyoaks should have opted for the scene when Kyle, Nancy and Darren had lunch for the first time, where Nancy had claimed Kyle to be married, and when Darren asked him about his wife, Kyle said she was almost "too good to be true." That was my absolute favorite scene of last year, the writing of the scene itself and how excellent the three played it all out (especially Adam Rickitt - the appointed star of that scene) made it very memorable to me. The year before Mercedes` scene, trying to get back together with Joel, while wearing her wedding dress, was my absolute favorite scene. This scene, despite a few good lines in between, was both too long and too predictable. I felt ahead of it the entire time, and couldn`t wait for it to be over. Some of the points were accurate enough, and important to address, don`t get me wrong. But I think, for such a long scene, they would have been better addressed wrapped into a story, so the scene would have engaged the brain and not just the ears and emotions. A good story/anecdote - with a solid ending, underlining the the theme and point - would have left a greater impression than this list of points, however well phrased some of them were. Just try to remember some of them now - I`ll be impressed if you manage more than three, call you a liar if you claim to remember 5 or more. But had you had a full anecdote/story to associate the point/s with, you would have remembered much better.

That is your opinion. Mine is that the scene and interaction between the acting and what was written in the lunch scene between Kyle, Nancy and Darren was the best scene. Personally I thought the scene where Neeta fell through the floor to be both too over the top, as well as predictable. But hey! The whole idea that Mac could ignite the gas while setting fire to the drawing, but not be killed himself, is just ridiculous. The reason the boiler exploded, was the there was enough gas in the air around the lighter in Mac`s hand for the air to ignite when the flame came in contact with it. If the air around the lighter was filled with gas, there would also have been gas on both Mac and Neeta`s hair, clothes and skin - and since they were closer to the flame than the leaking boiler tank was, they would have been alight before the fire reached the boiler tank and set off the explosion. So in real life both Mac and Neeta would have been killed as the result of the flame being lit. Either from burns and heat milliseconds prior to the explosion causing them fatal shocks, or from the heat and burns - or being thrown into a concrete wall full force - the explosion itself would have caused. So in my view, because the scene when Neeta fell to her death never could have happened in real life, cause both she and her killer would already have been dead by that time, that scene was far from the best scene. In my opinion, it wasn`t good at all, because it couldn`t have happened that way in real life. In real life Sally would have been the most likely to have been prosecuted for the explosion, either alone for as head of school not made sure the boiler was in a safe condition. or together with Luke, for having hired a janitor so incapable in his job, he by hitting the boiler caused a leak which later the same day caused a lethal explosion.

P Dineen It was more than one line, and it was also the mimic and the interaction between the three - Nancy trying to pretend everything was normal, Kyle enjoying himself giving little hints about what was going on and Darren trying to be polite and friendly while sensing something weird was going on, he couldn`t quite put his finger on. When script and acting dances together in such harmony, that makes the scene good in my opinion. But you are welcome to hold a different opinion.
