Agonal breathing : even though the body is virtually dead, the nervous system and the muscles keep trying to breathe for several minutes.

Those points where they tell each other to turn off their body cams, is exactly why portions of the public don’t trust, or fully trust the police…

A Halligan Bar is a Fireman's tool for prying open doors. It was invented by Chief Halligan of the NYC Fire Dept.

Halligan is a tool firefighters use to breach doors and windows in a fire. It's a heave metal pipe that has an L shape end that can be jammed into door frames.

When the police pull someone over and pull out their guns and yell at you to get out of the car, that's called a "Felony Stop" they do that when they know you might be trouble, so either they know who you are already and they know you have warrants or you've given them or someone else trouble before. OR when they've already been looking/chasing after you and want to be better safe than sorry by not having to walk up to your car. From Wikipedia: A felony stop, also known as a high-risk stop, is when police stop a vehicle because they believe a driver or passenger is suspected of a serious crime. Here are some characteristics of a felony stop: Police approach: Police will usually stay back from the vehicle and use their patrol cars for cover. Orders: Police will use a loudspeaker to order the driver and passengers out of the vehicle, often with instructions to get on the ground with their hands visible. Search and handcuff: Police will search and handcuff the driver and passengers. Multiple officers: Police will often have additional officers on scene for backup. Aerial surveillance: Some felony stops may involve aerial surveillance. Police may perform a felony stop when they believe someone inside the vehicle is dangerous, such as a suspect on the loose for a violent crime or fugitive. Some examples of serious crimes that may lead to a felony stop include: armed robbery, assault with a weapon, outstanding felony warrant for the registered owner, and vehicular manslaughter.

No recorded video is ever recorded over. They are equipped with secure storage that is tamper-proof. The body cameras also have up to 12 hours of continuous recording time. There is absolutely no reason to ever stop or mute the body camera unless you have something to hide, if it's something private they can always blur or mute certain parts after the fact when the video is released publicly. There should be zero tolerance for muting or stopping the recording during a scene or any interaction with the public. They are public servants that work for us and when they do this, it sometimes appears like they may be plotting or colluding to get their story straight (not saying they were in this video). It's like hiding or destroying possible evidence when they do this. They can talk later if they don't want something recorded or it may be muted after the fact before public release. No reason to ever mute or turn off.

She was shot under the chin with an exit wound through the top of the head. Not to be gross, but certainly there would have been quite a bit of brain matter on the inside of the car. The only person to call at that point was the Medical Examiner.

I’m assuming they shut their cameras off prior to talking to the cop involve in the shooting to provide support to him because they don’t talk to a cop involved in a shooting without a representative there with him to make sure his rights are protected. I don’t know that it’s a good look that they did that though. He should have just not talked to anybody but kept the body cam on IMO

I couldn't deal with this stuff everyday. Especially once kids are involved. It's not an excuse but more of a reason I believe for lots of cops not acting how they should be. Then there's obviously the bad ones that will do bad stuff no matter what and ruin the name of the profession just like bad lawyers, priests, doctors etc do
@BigMike4EverАй бұрын
They shut the cameras off because they want to talk about what just happened to others but don’t want it to be recorded in chance that they accidentally incriminate themselves or say something false. The cops could be in shock and say something that’s false. The captain gave them the OK to turn them off. Basically they don’t want to “officially” talk about the shooting until they have a lawyer present and are being interviewed by internal affairs. They’re just practicing their 5th amendment.

It's one of those things that should be 0 tolerance.

It's ok if you don't understand how body cameras work, instead saying something just to say something.
@kennethswartz8252Ай бұрын
@@atxfinest20 it's okay you don't understand that certain things are 0 excuses. People get fired everyday for simply being a minute late. I guess you don't understand 0 tolerance.
@kennethswartz8252Ай бұрын
@@atxfinest20 but yeah, I guess every officers body camera in that circle was about to have their battery die or record over. No wait, the superior said shut them off.
@BigMike4EverАй бұрын
There are times when they can and should turn off their body cameras. They want to talk about what just unfolded to their buddies and superiors but don’t want to accidentally incriminate themselves by saying something wrong or stupid because they’re in shock. nobody should be questioned when they’re in shock. You don’t think straight. They’re just practicing their 5th amendment like anyone else.
@JIMBEARRIАй бұрын
They turn off the cameras, so that the incident doesn't accidentally get recorded over. The body cams may only record a limited number of minutes before they begin to overwrite previously recorded video.
