This is a completely different Ave Maria that you previously reacted to & WOW. …. … Flower Duet with Corlea Botha at age 13. Never heard a better performance & I’ve heard many other artists sing this magnificent aria. …. … Sound of Music medley at age 15. Amira sings about one octave above the original by Julie Andrews and absolutely nails it. …. … When You Wish Upon a Star at age 17. Singing in such a slow tempo takes enormous breath & voice control. Again WOW? Due to Covid 19 & the obvious restrictions associated with it, Amira’s public performances have been curtailed. She also is still studying her school subjects which is her priority. One of the few artists I listen to very frequently and have enjoyed your reactions to Amira. One of the videos I can hardly get enough of is from a christmas concert when she was 11 and still living in the the Netherlands. It is "Ave Maria" Gomez (Canisius Church, Nijmegen) - Christmas Concert 2015. Not a polished professional video/ audio but her performance gives me chills virtually every time I watch it. The Classics Is Groot 2017 Live in Concert ~ Amazing Grace is another. She has done a Sound of Music Medley, La Vergine degli Angeli - Giuseppe Verdiin Aug 2021 and When You Wish Upon A Star from Disney's"Pinocchio", accompanied on the Grand Piano by her father in Sept. 2021

Amazing Grace is superb, but at the same time she sang Nessun Dorma, and the Flower Duet with Corlea Botha. 2018 age 14. She sang Gabriella's song, in Swedish. And her rendition of Hallelujah is also worth a listen. ( it's not the L. Cohen song) 2019 age 15. The Sound of Music medley. 2020 age 16. From her Christmas streaming concert either La Virgine degli Angeli, or I'll walk with God., or Little Drummer boy.. ( that one'll raise your eyebrows.) 2021 age 17. @@BritPopsReact The reason Patrizio got the shivers when he did is because of the depth and resonance of her chest voice, her lower register. Its not usual, even for adult soprano to have such depth and balance in all parts of their voice, it is highly unusual for a child to not only have that vocal ability but to all be able to slide between her head and chest voice so smoothly you can't hear the transition.

Great! In the final frozen image, you can see in the front row standing on the left Suzette Wilkens, with her favorite scarf decorated with musical notes. She was a soprano who started very young as well. In this video Amira was 12 years old and still living in the Netherlands. When Amira migrated to South Africa at the age of 14, Suzette Wilkens became her vocal and music teacher to this day.

Some background facts: The 2016 "Classics is Groot" concert - this was the first of them - was held in the Moreleta Park auditorium in Pretoria (South Africa) and was designed for the Afrikaans-speaking population of Johannesburg and Pretoria; the producers were Coleske Artists, with whom Amira got her second recording contract, in 2017. This auditorium seats about 7500 people. Her first contract was with SONY, and it ran from February 2014 to February 2017, because under Netherlands law, the maximum duration of a contract with a minor is three years. She produced two albums under her contract with SONY. Her performance of O sole mio was also published in Ecuador, by Jimmy Jairala; last time I looked it had 57 million views. Not shown in the version you played, was a little exchange between Amira and Patrizio, in which he asks her if she speaks Italian. When she doesn't answer, he asks whether perhaps she speaks a little Afrikaans - and she answers "Yes, of course I speak Afrikaans - would you like me to say something to you in Afrikaans?" - in Afrikaans. The audience loved it, and when it became known that she would also appear, in November 2016, in the "Afrikaans is Groot" concert, the series had to be increased from nine performances to 11 performances.

Amira's renditions of Nella Fantasia are both sensational. Interestingly, Nella Fantasia began its life as an orchestral tune called Gabriel's Oboe, written by Ennio Morricone for the soundtrack of the film, The Mission. It was Sarah Brightman who pestered Morricone to allow her to put words to the fantastic tune (you should listen to it sometime) and he eventually gave in. Not sure who actually wrote the words which then began a new life as Nella Fantasia but I believe Brightman had a hand in it. It was eventually translated into Italian and now many singers have performed it. Sarah Brightman was the first.

I see a lot of people mentioning the "flower duet". To explain - it is from the opera "Lakme", by a French composer, Leo Delibes; written in 1883. It is perhaps the most beautiful duet for female voices in all of opera. It was used by British Airways as boarding music for a number of years. Amira has sung it many times, but the best video so far is her performance with the South African soprano, Corlea Botha, in 2017. Of course, they sing it in French. BTW, it is incorrect to describe Amira as an "Opera singer"; doing so tends to annoy snobbish opera fanatics, who are reluctant to recognise that the traditional form of Opera is being overtaken by forms that allow far larger audiences. The tag "Opera singer" was used by the media because she chose two well-known operatic arias for her HGT performances, because she did not want to sound like Madonna or Beyonce - and she was very taken with the performances of Maria Callas, when she was younger. She had mastered Vibrato when she performed at HGT, and by 2017 was able to synchronise her vibrato to that of a duet partner (the Flower Duet demands this). She is a classical crossover singer (by her own description) - she enjoys singing operatic arias, and at 16 was doing so in her streaming concerts with the microphone a similar distance from her face as singers such as Hvorostovsky and Kaufmann (for example, "La Vergine degli angeli", from the Verdi opera "The force of destiny"); but she also sings what were, in their day, popular songs such as "O sole Mio" and "Funiculi,. funicula"; and also songs from musicals such as "Sound of Music", "West side story", "My Fair Lady", "Les Miserables" and from films, such as "Gabriellas song" (from the Swedish film, "As it is in Heaven"), and "Nella Fantasia" (Morricone). Almost all her work is protected by copyright - as you have obviously discovered; and since 2020, she is putting it out on her "Gelukskinders" label, because she wants to fund more playground projects - and she knows very well that "There are more sharks in the music business than in the Ocean", so she wants to cut out the middle men. She uses KZbin as a means of advertising her concerts - what you find on KZbin is about 10% of her output.

Amira spielt ihre Rolle wirklich gut für ihr zartes junges Alter. Ich selbst stand im Alter von 3 Jahren auf der Bühne als Sängerin. Ich weiß, wie schwer das ist, zu schauspielern und sich gleichzeitig auf den Gesang zu konzentrieren. Mit 5 lernte ich dann auf der Musikschule Klavier, habe mir dann noch selbst 5 zusätzliche Instrumente beigebracht. Nach 35 Jahren musste ich wegen meiner Schwerbehinderung leider mit der Musik aufhören. Deshalb freut es mich immer wieder, wenn ich junge Menschen erleben darf, die sich auch für Klassik interessieren, so wie ich. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland und viel Erfolg und Spaß weiterhin mit Euren Videos. Ich bin großer Fan von Euch und würde mich freuen, wenn Ihr über junge Talente generell etwas mehr bringen könntet. Great reaction to an amazing singer, and he was pretty good also. This is one of Amira's most popular videos. If you want something that's not operatic, try either the Sound of Music medley or When You Wish Upon a Star (from Pinocchio), which was her contribution to a concert put on to honour US veterans. But if you like her duets, you must see I'll Walk With God, which is one of the best operatic duets you'll ever likely to see. This song is best known from the 1950s film, The Student Prince, where the star. Edmund Purdom, lip-synced the voice of the great Mario Lanza. Simply extraordinary! Her Flower Duet with Corlea Botha is world class as well. Although everything Amira does is world class. Ave Maria (Gomez) at Canisius Church at age 10 is breathtaking, as is her rendition of the classic, Amazing Grace. I could go on and on, she is just a Superstar! Glad you've joined the party, lads.

When Patrizio rubs his arms, it's not goose bumps, Amira is singing a verse about the sun going down, and the chill of night descending. In contrast, his face is her sunshine. She has sung in about 10 different languages, and native speakers say in the comments that there is little to nothing wrong with her enunciation, but she only speaks three fluently.

So true. For all these years, since the performance of this cute little beautiful creature at HGT 2013, all fans admire Amira's facial expressions, her often closed eyes. However, I will say that the parents were mainly concerned about the slimness of her teeth, but the fact is that she has lumenophobia, a fear of bright lights, and there is a need to correct this by eating more carrots and fresh carrot juice so that all works are saturated with unique facial expressions and body movements inherent in Amira. In many ways, her values and spirit remind me of Angelina, who is two years younger. They both had incredible success and attention at a very young age. It shows pre-show preparations, after show meet and greet, and a few encouraging words from Patrizzio. Put the subtitles on if you want an English translation. In the Sole Meo video, about halfway through, there is a shot of an impassive man with his hand over his mouth. It's Mike Fuller, Amira's manager. Patrizzio and Amira did another duet about two years later. It's Amigos Para Sempre, but it's not my favourite song. - I'd recommend her Amazing Grace, from the classics concert in 2017, a year after Sole Mio. If you want her most recent video, it's Nearer My God to Thee, taken from her 18th birthday concert, and released this easter. @Alowat Sakima Your comment didn't make me smile but I had to laugh out loud. The link you mention shows Amira's duet with Ben Heijnen, a Dutch tenor, and their "competition" who could hold the longest note was really fun. Eduardo di Capua was NOT Amira's duet partner! He composed this song in 1898 and died in 1917 at the age of 52.

Besides Ben could hold that note much longer than Amira but he just was polite with Amira, actually his voice is so big he could do without the microphone in that church setting.
