This is one of my favorite love songs of all time. I would not change a thing about the way David Coverdale sings this song, but if you want more umph, then listen to WhiteSnake's In the Still of the Night or Here I Go Again......because they're pretty damn good.

According to David Coverdale, the lead singer of Whitesnake, the song was written with Tina Turner in mind. Their producer liked the song so much, he suggested Whitesnake record it before pitching the song to Tina Turner. I believe a good choice was made having the band record the song, but can definitely hear Tina Turner singing "Is This Love?". Would have been nice to hear her version of it.

Always great reactions. Whitesnake is mostly a kick-A heavy metal band. Back in the day, they added these songs to their repertoire for airplay and a wider audience. I love the "Atmospheric" sounds of power ballads. But you could try a song like "Burn" to feel the full force of Whitesnake. I'm sure there will be more suggestions for the best versions of heavy Whitesnake.

7:11 I bundle this group with all of the Big Hairspray Bands! I place them on the scale of these rather boring bands from 1-10, one being the lowest. They are a 4, and I'm giving them a little extra slack 😐...I group this band with the likes of: Cinderella, Ratt, Motley Crue, GNR, Bon Jovi, & Oh Hell, there's just to many to count! There were to many other bands to listen to. These type of bands all sounded alike and a huge waste of time!! There was REAL MUSIC to be heard! AC/DC, John Cougar/Mellencamp. The Cars, Van Halen, Thin Lizzy, Ozzy Osborne, Peter Frampton, Boston, Ted Nugent, also to many to count!! I'll set this amazing band in this group, because they stood far apart from the Big Hair Bands, and I'll be more than happy to have Def Leppard on my side...LOL 😂 WAIT!! I almost forgot! How I skipped this incredible popular singer Bryan Adams.

Receiving a notification that BrittReacts has posted a new reaction is a silver lining to my usually dreadful day. But actually getting home and watching her reaction is always pure gold. I liked Whitesnake but not overly that much; but back then once one "rock band" found success with a rock ballad then almost every rock band tried it as well whether they really wanted to or not. It just made sense to try and a lot succeeded as well.

Britt , first off THANK YOU for doing the studio album version of this song. It has one of my favorite guitar solos in it. John Sykes smooth , creamey Les Paul neck pickup tone is gorgeous. This ballad is a little more laid back than most cause it was originally written for Tina Turner to sing. She turned it down. Think of her song We Don't Need Another Hero.

If you react to Here We Go Again by Whitesnake, you should follow it up with 1985 by Bowling for Soup. It's a bit of a parody. Unfortunately, Whitesnake went through a lot of changesin their lineup over the years with lead singer David Coverdale being the only constant. There wasn't enough room in the band for so many giant egos with Coverdale's being the largest. Coverdale also recorded an album with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. Titled Coverdale-Page, it is a decent album, but not up to Led Zeppelin standards.

This is definitely an R&B-inspired power ballad. I would suggest continuing with their Whitesnake album, also known as 1987. That's the one that made them popular in the States. Try Still of the Night, Here I Go Again '87, Give Me All Your Love, and Crying in the Rain '87. Then go to Love Ain't No Stranger and Slow an' Easy off of Slide It In. Then Fool for Your Loving '89, and Now You're Gone from Slip of the Tongue. I think The Deeper the Love may be too mellow for you. Then listen to all three albums in full! That's a good start!

It is said that David Coverdale and John Sykes wrote this song with Tina Turner in mind, and only kept it for themselves after she turned it down. It's not typical of Whitesnake though. David is a blues singer at heart, and Whitesnake was one of the finest blues rock bands when they took a left turn with this album, to try to break into the American market. And boy did they ever succeed... You should give them a second chance though - David is one of the great rock singers of all time.
