He’s an extraordinary singer. Just about the only singer who could stand in for Freddie Mercury and tour with Queen. As he has many times since American Idol.

He came in second on Season 8 of Idol but he won in life - 5 albums in Billboard's Top 10 (newest High Drama came out last month), lead vocals of legendary Queen for 10 years, judge/mentor on talent shows around the globe, solo concerts around the world, voice over work, acting in TV and the movies, and writing a musical. From Wiki: "The Kennedy Center Honors are annual honors given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. They have been presented annually since 1978, culminating each December in a gala celebrating five honorees in the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C.[1] While the awards are primarily given to individuals, they have occasionally been given to couples or musical groups, as well as to one Broadway musical and one television show."

Adam came 2nd in American Idol 2009. Yes he has changed all the arrangements round not just a cover. Phenomenal voice. Apart from having his own successful solo carer he has been frontman for Queen for over a decade. This concert was an honours event for Cher all different people paid tribute to her by singing her songs This is Chers song Adam did not write it all Cher . Last month Adam released his new cover Album High Drama with Billie Ellish,Duran Duran, Sia,Culture Club,Kings Of Leon and Bonnie Tyler. He has reworked them and totally changed them. Got lots of solol stuff all great and saw him sing live in 🇬🇧 last month at his launch show of his new Album he was phenomenal cant wait to see him again in UK in June. Great reaction Britt thank you 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

What is really amazing is seeing Adam Lambert singing Nessun Dorma in the middle of the Queen show in Italy. He sang it during the soundcheck and Brian and Roger wanted him to sing it in the show as a show of respect to opera and Italy. It's incredible to see him sing it in the midst of their set and then go back to singing Queen's music. The man is incredible! He recently performed Chandelier on the AGT finale and it was spectacular! The person flying in the air won the show.

I love Adam Lambert! He is a gorgeous man and his voice is stunning! I remember watching this performance on TV and absolutely loving it. I love the original because of the upbeat dance track but I love this version more because it shows the vulnerability of the lyrics. The lyrics are the star of the song, not an upbeat background. I remember writing to Adam Lambert when he was on American Idol as a contestant and he wasn’t even in the top ten yet. I wrote to him saying how much I love him and his voice, I asked for a personalized autograph, and then I ended it with saying that I was looking forward to watching him perform many more times and to seeing him in the finals because I knew he was going to be there. About a week later, I got his autograph picture in the mail. His autograph is one of my favorites.

Oh girl, this song still makes me cry right now. Adam did a rough version of this during his American Idol auditions in Hollywood in 2009, so he's had it in his arsenal for a long time. I've only got to now him 2 years ago and I've been smitten since. It's fair to say that catching up on a decade of Adam has taken over my life but man, he is by far the best vocalist and sadly most underrated voice of a generation. With this performance, I had to watch and listen with breaks in between because I thought I would break into pieces on an emotional level. Even now, it just makes me cry even when it's on in the background. The two "uh" near the end bits is used to put more emotion into the lyrics.

In 2009 Adam came in 2nd on American Idol. Adam has never hidden that he is gay, but back then contestants on Idol were not to share their private lives. Just days before the finale a gossip news media broadcast a picture of him with his boyfriend at the time. He came in 2nd, losing to a Christian singer, who no one’s heard much about since. Adam is known for his kindness and talent! He has such a huge solo career and also lead singer of Queen. Tours the world! So talented! Kennedy Center usually inducts 5 artists/groups from the performing arts annually, from acting, dance, music, stage, etc... To be a Kennedy Center honoree you must be a legend in your own right, this was Reba and Cher's year. Auntie Dolly, George Jones, Johnny Cash and yes Reba are among the country music honorees. Movie stars like James Stewart, Cary Grant and Barbra Streisand are inductees as are all genres of music greats like Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha and Ray Charles. There are only 248 people honored to date and the president and first lady typically attend these awards at the Kennedy Center and the honorees sit in the audience and people who are singers have top notch talented singers performing their greatest hits. Pretty much you must be a legend to be given this honor.
