Dolly Parton is the real deal. From music, movies, Dollywood and to her charity work, she is an amazing person. It is often said, the only reason Dolly isn't a Billionaire is because of all the things she does to give back to the community. God Bless Dolly!

Next songs, "Down from Dover" they(recorder company)wouldn't let her release it as a single. "The Bargain Store" Radio stations ban the song because it mentions body parts. But it still became a hit for Dolly. "He's Alive" Dolly didn't write this song. But she will give you chills listening to her sing it. "The letter" 1st letter she wrote home to her parents after she moved to Nashville. "Love is like a butterfly" Beautiful song. Dolly loves butterflies. "Mule Skinners Blues" Dolly yodels. Dolly is the only female Country Singer l have ever heard sing this song. She's great. "If teardrops were pennies & heartaches were gold" "Daddy was an old time Preacher man" 2 Duets with Porter Wagoner.

One of the most talented women to ever walk the earth. You should read up on her, when wildfires ravaged Tennessee, she supported each family out of her own pocket……just to give back. You need to check out “Dollywood” also, great amusement park that employees hundreds from those mountains. Ms. Dolly also has a free book program that gives to any child by mail for free, great voice and great heart. Beautiful women inside and out.

Another true song by Dolly is Appalachian Memories. Many poor Southern Appalachian folk left the mountains (hills and hollows) and went North to work in the auto and steel plants. Beautiful lyrics and music. 'Oh and these northern nights are dreary And my southern heart is weary I wonder how the old folks are back home But I'll keep leanin' on sweet Jesus I know He'll love and guide and lead us Appalachian memories keep me strong'

For what I have heard, Dolly knows a bit about loss and heartbreak... When she was a child, she had many, many siblings, so her parents recruited the older children to help with the younger ones... They assigned each older child, including Dolly, to one of the younger ones to take care of... Unfortunately, the child that Dolly was to take care of got sick, and did not make it... Dolly was inconsolable... Although it was undoubtedly NOT her fault, Dolly blamed herself anyway... That is why she never had any children of her own... The trauma of losing her little brother was just too much for her to bear... She took it as a sign that she should never have children of her own...

This is a horrifying tragic yet beautiful and powerful demonstration that same tragedy. The horror is in what is implied but not said. Children are naturally afraid of strangers. So imagine how bad their condition had to have been for a 6 year old girl to pick up her puppy and leave their home to wander a neighborhood... at night... in the middle of a freezing winter storm. "Why did they die if she took them in?" Severe exposure AND extreme long-term malnutrition. her mommy ran away again could mean a week or weeks ago. so again, imagine a 6 year old child left alone in a home for a week or longer. no food. like someone abandoning their home and leaving their pet abandoned inside with no food. indeed, the puppy is starving, too - both abandoned. she is starving. they are suffering together alone until the desperation gets so bad that the 6 year old girl flees to the wild darkness of night, wearing nothing but a night dress into a winter storm, in hope of finding help from a random stranger. Who knows how many hours she wandered and stood in the winter storm trying to work up the nerve/bravery to approach a strange house and knock on a stranger's door in the middle of the night. Adult women are usually too afraid to do this and won't do home delivery jobs after sunset. Even still, after the woman answers the door, the girl's so scared/intimidated, she can't just come straight out and ask for warmth/food/help/love, so she him-haws and shyly fumbles around with playful silly words while fleetingly interjecting quick declarations for help. Worse yet, even with help given, the long-term damage is so severe her body is weakened beyond the point of recovery, so she and the puppy both pass away in their sleep in the strange woman's loving/peaceful/merciful home/bed. the horror of this tragedy is hidden by the perfect demonstration of a child's shy but bubbly spirit even as she is in a dying state of suffering. These powerful things are left unsaid and for you the listen to figure out through common sense deduction. Thus, the reality of the tragedy quickly transforms from the perspective of a naive and innocent child to suddenly a sober and grim adult's understanding of the severity of the situation, then it deepens and deepens as the adult mind analyzes the situation further for better understanding. the most beautiful depiction of tragic horror I've ever heard. Subtle. Not in your face or overly descriptive, but set up where all the secret horrors can be figured out with a little adult critical thinking. masterpiece of powerful minimalist lyrics. thank you for reacting.
