Yeah that was a great show, stumbled on it in the early YT days. The PBS home reno show This Old House went and visited Daryl's house and he talked about how he renovated that 1800's house over the years and gave a tour and talked about how he loved old houses and I think bought a smaller one, moved it and attached it to the original house giving him that studio space.

You should check out the Daryl's House episode with Cee Lo Green and listen to their version of "I Can't Go For That". I guarantee you that this performance will have you dancing in your chair. Daryl's House is a TV Show where Daryl Hall invites musicians over to his house and they just jam out and eat lunch. They will do a version of a Hall & Oates song and one of the artist who is currently there. They're all recorded live and sometimes they show pieces of them arranging the song. It's pretty freaken amazing tbh.

If you were ever a fan of "Daryl's House" (where he has famous musicians come to his home originally to jam), in on episode not too many years ago he is doing introductions with a famous musician and he says "And this is Sara." If you blinked, you missed it. I had to rewind it to make sure and it certainly was her. So she is still in his life in some form. I wish that I remember the episode.

Daryl hall the singer is still around banging he has a podcast called < Daryls Place > Where he invites other artists not long ago he had cellow green don't know if I spelled that right just got of intensive care for 2 weeks my house exploded a few weeks ago and burnt completely down. I was out town for a week came back opend the door smelled a funny smell then cut the light on then BOOOOOOOOM!!!! Threw me about 20 ft the dryer line guess busted. I lost everything about 25 rare guitar's my Harley and corvette was in the garage melted them to a block of metal. I was lucky the fire Marshall told me that door was open if I would have shut it. It burnt what use to be very long blonde hair I could here it burning and i rushed back in because i thought my dog sargent was still in there but forgot my sister had him but i was in my right that alot to happen in less than 1 minute but that where i got the third degree burns on my hands very bad they had to do skin grafts. Wow! Lucky for you, this is one of the biggest singles acts of their own era. You picked a fun act to crush/rabbithole on because they are freakin' HITMAKERS, with sixteen US Top10 singles - including six US#1s!!!. They had a couple of Philly Soul bangers (including this one) in the 1970s, but in the MTV era, they were one of the only US acts to seize the video medium while embracing changing styles and sounds, from Yacht Rock to Boogie to New Wave. They just had hit-after-hit-after-hit for the first half of the 80s, and a couple of times after. "Sara Smile" (1976/US#4) was their first hit, but "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" (1981/US#1) might be their masterpiece, also reaching US#1 on the "Black Music" chart. Michael Jackson told Daryl Hall (the blond on lead vocals) that he stole the beat for "Billie Jean" from it (when they met at the recording of "We Are the World" in 1984). I think you already reacted to that. Hall & Oates have so many hits, but the closest they come to this sound is their delightfully bitchy "Rich Girl" (1977/US#1), also from the 1970s, and a re-release of "She's Gone" (1976/US#7) which originally came out in 1973, but tanked at US#60. It's probably the best of their 1970s Philly Soul-era tracks. "You Make My Dreams", "Kiss on My List", "Private Eyes", "Did It in a Minute", "Maneater". That's insane. I don't think Madonna, MJ, or Prince climbed that consistently high for almost five years straight, since I know some of my favorites by those artists weren't exactly smashes.

The lead singer is Daryl hall. The guitar player is John oats. Daryl has a show called Weekend at Daryls. Where he invites various artists to his farm. He has a recording studio in his barn, and they go back and forth doing each other's songs. It's Phenomenal.
