Hey everyone. It's been 6 whole months six Destiel went canon! Can you believe it? Here's a fun little video I made with my dad to celebrate. In it we talk about our favorite Destiel moments, episodes, fanfics and more!

I really enjoyed watching this. I'm an older fan (and Heller 😊) myself, so it really was nice to see someone your dad's age talking about the show. And thanks for the fan fic rec too! Aww! I’m so glad you did this with your dad. It’s so interesting how parents can be disillusioned and call things as they see it. “[Cas’] POV sections were really good [in the fanfiction].” I love your dad. In all honesty, people who write Cas well breathe life back into me.

Yes! I'm always very impressed by well written Cas POV. I think he's very hard to capture.

@@SilvanaLTD Essay ahead, sorreh! My headcanon is that Cas has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). That spectrum is what it is, a spectrum, and is so nuanced and complex, and can present differently across genders. Cas to me is Neurodovergent, and a Neurodivergent character can be particularly challenging to write for a Neurotypical writer. But I love that they try. I mean, this is assuming that most writers are Neurotypical. Many people are Neurodivergent and only realize this till later in adulthood. And guess what, characters like Cas and Dean help can help them in that realization. About Dean, I have a headcanon that Dean has ADHD. (I'm not the only one. Experts in the field of mental health think so about Cas and Dean being Neurodivergent as well). Misha actually said during panels that fans would come up to him like, "My [child] has ASD and Cas is their absolute favourite, and they resonates a lot with him." And Misha likes that. And I also have a headcanon that Cas is pan and well as grey-romantic, or demi-sexual. I'm demi-romantic. So when he's written that way, I grin like an idiot. It shows that people, fans, love him for what he is, that he is a precious being who will love someone for their soul, and he literally did. I actually think all three boys are demi. Cas and Sammy as demi-sexual and Dean as demi-romantic. I really hoped for all three them to find love in their found families and was very put out that the finale episodes seem to erase the show's long-standing driving home theme of "found family". They started as two brothers who only had each other, but even their relationship changed over the years and they found family along the way. Why couldn't it end really showing that? Ugh... anyways. My brain has accepted that they ended like that, that their found family was not erased, and that's that.

@@tiffanypersaud3518 I've definitely seen a lot of neurodivergent headcanons for those characters it makes a lot of sense and it's always great to see writers use their own experiences and expertise in their writing. And not gonna lie most of the time I just pretend 15x18 was the finale and then read a bunch of fix its haha

Your dad is very observant & brings up so many great points. But now that I know that he's into poetry (I am also), that explains everything. I also love his idea for a good ending for Supernatural. I would have enjoyed his version. That is ambiguity done right.

Totally. I have no problem with an ambiguous ending if it still satisfies the things that they actively set up to be resolved by the end.

They totally should have brought back bella Talbot Jesse the half human half demon child from season 5 the boy from season 7 and lisa Dean's ex girlfriend the writers totally dropped the ball

Jesse the half demon kid would have been so interesting to bring back post Jack but he was just forgotten. I would have also loved to see what ever happened with Cassie, Dean's girlfriend from season 1.

Maybe! I would love to make more videos about Supernatural at some point, but probably mixed in with my "regular" content, so not for a bit. I do have endless thoughts about the show lol
