Part 2 of the Holy Trinity: Episode 17 "Hero What an episode...for many the best Attack on Titan episode ever. For many the best episode in the medium of series ever...long time with a 10/10 on IMDB and completely deserved. This episode is another climactic highlight of this season with the Levi Vs Beast Titan fight. Boy oh boy this fight instantly went down in anime history and Studio Wit just outdid themselves. Levi made a promise to Erwin before his final Charge to do everything possible to take down the Beast Titan and it's just so great that Levi doesn't want the death of Erwin and the other recruits to seem in vain and slaughters the Beast Titan with fiery fervor. Even if this scene is just unbelievable there is another highlight in the form of Armin's sacrifice... It all seemed hopeless...most of the Survey Corps wiped out and only our people against the Collosal Titan. It seemed like such a great victory could be achieved with an even greater sacrifice and so it came to pass.... Don't get me wrong, I liked Armin a lot but after this episode he has a legend status. It is again the case that Armin himself has been pursuing the dream of seeing the sea for a very long time and his sacrifice, just like Erwin's dream, is to give up his for the good of mankind. The saddest part is the fact that he and Eren used to have the same dream but Eren himself, as seen in episode 12, stopped pursuing it and was reminded at that moment that he and his best friend wanted to see the sea together to fulfill their childhood dream. I love the plan and the silence that sets in before Eren defeats the Colossal Titan and cuts Bertholdt out. That Eren himself as a human defeats his "oldest enemy" Bertholdt after all this time closes another circle since episode 5 and is just very well done and proves how good and selfless Armin's plan was. This episode unites the deeds of all the people and characters we have been following for so long and each of our people is a hero in his own right.

When the back neck is cut off, the titan cannot regenerate and evaporates and disappears. In the case of intelligent titan, human is like vital points on the back neck, so when humans fall from the titan's body, the titan's body evaporates and disappears. That's why Bertolt saw that the body of the Eren titan remained and thought that Eren was in that titan body. Because he didn't know that Eren had the hardening ability. Armin was aware of this and completely deceived Bertolt again as in 2×11. In the last video, I said how strong Bertolt, who had no doubt about his behavior, was. However, Armin, who is ready to die, overwhelms him.

As a manga reader, the funny thing about this episode is that it portrait Eren using ODM gear to get Bertolt very quite and smooth. But I remember when I first read it in manga, the page screamed very loud with all the information in it that I almost fell off my chair. After so long seeing Eren fighting as a titan I forgot that he's a fully trained soldier. I really like how the anime translate this scene from pages to screen.

Isayama did 2 exactly different types of storytelling here and on the last episode and they were both magnificently executed. When Erwin discussed his plan to take down the beast titan, we got every information how they're gonna do it before we watch it happen. This made us feel for the scouts and experience the hype before the plan was executed. During Armin's plan on the other hand, we never got to hear a thing about his plan. We had to watch it happen to know what's going on, and that made us surprised and feel the hype after eren jumped on behind berutorto. Amazing!

I like the way levi took down the beast titan too. He didn't take any chances, incapacitate and cripple him, he made sure to take full advantage of his ambush and hit all the vital spots to ensure he's going to take him out. Really nice contrast to other "boss" fights you see in anime or movies/TV shows.
