I met (virtually) Anke back in 2020-2021 when we were in that same online beginner ballet class on Sunday afternoons! I remember seeing her husband in the back of her video feed a few times finishing his piano and seeing her dancing in that tiny space in her bedroom. We follow each other on Instagram still and it’s so lovely and inspiring seeing her progress and watching her go to the US for IABF. I actually feel really emotional listening to this episode thinking of how far hard work and passion has taken her. I’m also still dancing, but I do it now in person in the studio I go to. I hope to run into her again soon, maybe we’ll meet at an intensive someday.

Sometimes it feels like barre fitness has taken the most special parts of ballet away and made it boring! so glad it opened the door for Anke, so she could find her way to rewards and enjoyment of ballet ❤
