With the offensive weapons that this team has, Purdy doesn't need to do anything special. He really just needs to get the ball to his playmakers. That being said, he is doing that and so much more. He looks so poised and so comfortable navigating the pocket.

@@horacioipina7676 They knew what hey had? the last pick in the draft was a good starting NFL QB? They knew he would do this good? No way they thought he would do this good. He was the last pick in the draft, passed over seven times by every NFL team. No one thought anything of him as more than a 3rd string QB. If they though he was this good, they would have drafted him a lot sooner. They got really lucky here. That's it. Don't kid yourself if you think the 49ers knew what they were doing when drafting him. They tossed the pick at the wall and it stuck.

@@wasedaebisu0528 he reminds me, actually a little bit of Drew Brees, although Brees was a bit more athletic. Brees didn't have a strong arm, but it was strong enough to make most of the throws just like Purdy and was sneakily athletic just like Purdy Purdy ran the 40 at 4.84 seconds Brees ran the 40 at 4.83 seconds They're both extremely short for a quarterback, as well He does have something similar to Brady. Both were very late draft picks who took over the starting job for a team with a stacked defense at the end of the season... Maybe Purdy will do what Brady did and win the super bowl One thing he's similar to Marino is they're the only 2 quarterbacks in nfl history to throw 2 or more touchdowns, have a passer rating of over 100, and win his first 3 starts

The 49ers offensive line was supposed to be their achilles heal entering the season and they still aren't great. Many times, the line collapses and Purdy has demonstrated the ability to juke defenders with his mobility and throw accurately while on the run - something many QBs cannot do. His progression reads are super quick and he has the innate ability to quickly make decisions and get the ball out quickly to the correct receiver. His throws are tight darts with accuracy for the most part, plus he has shown he's not scared to take a hit. All these things...are not due to playing for a stacked team...it's Purdy himself.
