With the offensive weapons that this team has, Purdy doesn't need to do anything special. He really just needs to get the ball to his playmakers. That being said, he is doing that and so much more. He looks so poised and so comfortable navigating the pocket.

You've seen something similar once before haven't you? When Tom Brady did something similar in 2001 ? Great for Brock and his people plus the niners fans. I think Kyle shannahan is probably the best coach in the league hands down now.

Brock Purdy is the definition of rising underdog tale! Last pick of the draft, rookie taking on the legendary Tom Brady in his first game, was mr irrelevant. Now look at him. We only had to see one game of his to see he finds comfort in the storm and can absolutely keep his composure.

How old are you fam? I'm 43 and I don't EVER remember Montana scrambling up the field using his legs like that. He could maneuver the pocket some but was never a running threat. He would sit back and pick the defense apart with all kinds of crossing routes and checkdowns/passes to RB/FB

Also Purdy is used to using TEs, at Iowa State he had arguably the best two tight ends in school history at once...we ran a lot of 3 tight end sets. And Kittle is one of the absolute best.

Hard to measure what kind of vision a guy has. Field awareness is what is setting him apart, and on a relatively untalented college team, with the college level schemes, that can be hard to spot.

there are reports from preseason that the Niners org was impressed, what that means who knows impressed in general? impressed for a rookie who will be practing with the practice squad for years? impressed for what he could develop into? every once and awhile I remember that Kurt Warner was a grocery store clerk before the rams let him ride the bench, he grew into one of the best QBs f my childhood

@@horacioipina7676 They knew what hey had? the last pick in the draft was a good starting NFL QB? They knew he would do this good? No way they thought he would do this good. He was the last pick in the draft, passed over seven times by every NFL team. No one thought anything of him as more than a 3rd string QB. If they though he was this good, they would have drafted him a lot sooner. They got really lucky here. That's it. Don't kid yourself if you think the 49ers knew what they were doing when drafting him. They tossed the pick at the wall and it stuck.

Been a saints fan for like 33 years and I can honestly say those times when you don't know why your winning are some of the BEST! happened to my saints in 90,91,92 then in 2006, then again in 2009, then again in 2017,18,19. Having said all that it's pretty obvious why y'all are winning man, you have who I consider to be the best coach in all of football. Keep him happy and for Gods sake LISTEN TO HIM. Get you a GM that can work with and agree with him. You'll stay relevant for a long time.

Brees didn't have a strong arm, but it was strong enough to make most of the throws just like Purdy and was sneakily athletic just like Purdy Purdy ran the 40 at 4.84 seconds Brees ran the 40 at 4.83 seconds They're both extremely short for a quarterback, as well He does have something similar to Brady. Both were very late draft picks who took over the starting job for a team with a stacked defense at the end of the season... Maybe Purdy will do what Brady did and win the super bowl One thing he's similar to Marino is they're the only 2 quarterbacks in nfl history to throw 2 or more touchdowns, have a passer rating of over 100, and win his first 3 starts

Yup. That's why I think Lance gets traded. Jimmy will probably have his contract cut and stay on as a back up. That's what's best for him he can't stay healthy.

Purdy is decent but most of his throws are to extremely wide open guys ...I think it's like 20 percent percent his skill at qb and 80 percent being on arguably the most stacked team in the NFL

The 49ers offensive line was supposed to be their achilles heal entering the season and they still aren't great. Many times, the line collapses and Purdy has demonstrated the ability to juke defenders with his mobility and throw accurately while on the run - something many QBs cannot do. His progression reads are super quick and he has the innate ability to quickly make decisions and get the ball out quickly to the correct receiver. His throws are tight darts with accuracy for the most part, plus he has shown he's not scared to take a hit. All these things...are not due to playing for a stacked team...it's Purdy himself.

He’s a rookie that was a last pick…those dudes he’s throwin to were late draft picks like him lol kittle(5th round) deebo(2nd round) Jennings (7th round) ray ray (7th pick) watch his highlights with the 49ers and see how he scrambles, throws the n the run, reads the field, first play of the game he throws a side arm pass with a defender in his face smh…do me a favor and look when he got away from a defender to avoid a sack and throw it away… little things like that makes him a solid QB in this league…the best thing about Brock is his accuracy

@@adamzullo3624 regardless of how much the Niners gave up for Lance, it should be Purdy's job to lose. He has done way more than Jimmy G and Lance to help the team win. Jimmy always gets carried, and Lance hasn't shown anything or played at the level Purdy is playing at.
