Don't give up buddy! I know it's getting difficult but I'm sure sooner than later, you'll be doing full WOT pulls soon. Youre not the only one that goes for used parts, always got to see what the best price out there. Thank you for the law enforcement support, I appreciate it and I am an officer as well. I know the day stacked up on you, but if that snout coupler let go, that's an easy fix. I've never had one fail, but when I disassembled my 2.3 whipple and noticed it, I thought wow... this little coupler handles a lot of work. I think it's supposed to fail and prevent any shock from transferring to the rotors. I'll bet when your tensioner blew, it momentarily caused some binding as the belt and tensioner bounced around under the hood, causing the coupler to fracture. You probably just drove out what it had left to give. The coupler did its just job and probably saved your motor. I'd consider it a service item and maybe replace it annually or maybe every other year, depending on how its driven. Head up brother. We're there with you. You're driving the legend and you're not giving up when a lot of others would.
@Jordancraigmiller4 жыл бұрын
It was the snout and coupler. The snout broke, the coupler is actually fairly ok, replacing it with a carbon fiber coupler. I think if the tensioner broke first it would have just knocked off the belt. Fairly sure the snout letting go at 6K rpm caused the tensioner to snap because of the sudden jolt which is much worse than just a normal shift. Tensioners usually don’t snap in half like that, even on 1,000 race cars I’ve seen them break but not snap in half. I’ve got a new snout and coupler on the way, just kinda annoyed because I bough the Whipple for $2,300 and was under the impression that it was in good shape.

Hate it for you man. Jokerz performance have decent rebuild prices on there whipple blowers. I was in the same boat as you almost and it does suck when buying used blowers. I almost bought a posi ported Eaton for $800 and my gut told me to buy headers instead so I went with the ARH headers and not even 1 week later, some guy who bought the posi ported Eaton instead of me got the blower that the guy said was in good condition and the rotors were bent and everything. He’s gonna rebuild it but it does suck when this stuff happens unfortunately. Keep your head up man and remember a wise man once said 1 step back, 2 steps forward. Let’s climb the mountain and get to the tippity top because the thing is Jordan you are already at the tippity top and your literally only half way up. Best of luck man and looking forward to more videos!

This is the most disliked video I’ve put out in probably a year lol. Wonder why? Guess some people handle handle seeing all of my problems? Well hey, I’m putting them out to help others to avoid making the same mistakes and/or know how to solve these problems. I’m not a mechanic, I’m just a guy with a camera and a cobra with a lot of life experiences. This was a rough day so I thought why not record it so I can add the the story! We found out what the issue is with my whippple and next video will talk about fixing it.

I hate to see this man....important not to buy used car parts....yeah saving money is cool....but u have to think longterm...u dont know what the part has been thru....i have a 04 cobra, i have learned allot man, one thing is for sure, when buying parts i buy new, my car is just tuned and pulled, made 460 to the wheel, i am looking at porting the eaton, whipples as u know cost allot of coin, my car is not a daily, also not into the horsepower wars, i am already shit n on people cause i have 04 cobra, so no need 2 really even say anything on that.... what u should do man for now is just put ur eaton back on and get a re tune man and just chill and enjoy the car, build ur video content on the car, get money from ur channel, once u do that man, u can buy any parts u want because ur channel will be pop n.......i know man its tough i get it, but i am proud of u dude hang n there man and stay focus, and things will be better......
@Jordancraigmiller4 жыл бұрын
Going back to an eaton would actually cost me more than fixing the Whipple, it’s actually already fixed and I only spent $300 to fix it. Would I recommend anyone to buy a used Whipple? Yes and no. Yes if you trust the seller, no if you don’t know the seller or can’t inspect the blower. I sold my ported eaton a few months back for around $900. I had rebuilt it only a few years back. It’s a good blower to would screw someone over personally. With my Whipple I did inspect it before buying, rotors and bearings seemed good. I didn’t know that snouts or couplers could break. I’ve since learned a lot more about Gen 1-2 2.3 and 2.9 whipples. If I sell this blower knowing I’ve now built some of the internals I could feel good about that. My new coupler is rated at 1,000hp and the new snout is from a second Gen! In other words with $300 I made this blower much more capable than your average 2.3 and now I can resale it in a few years and feel good about it! Used blowers if you get them at the right price can be great.
