You probably have it solved by now, but one option for your plugged chute would be to send something up the long tube, perhaps a plumber's snake or some such. @Ridinglawnmower145 Жыл бұрын
Yo expensive and just not worth it to have extra weight and some huge hydraulic motors it would be more of a problem than do good especially since it would only be used during the winter
@garywheeler1733 Жыл бұрын
@@Ridinglawnmower145 I know that is the reason why they don't do that. I ran cart for my brother in law last fall. Cart can be as much as 2 1/2 times heavier than the tractor.
@ronchappel4812 Жыл бұрын
Yes that would be useful at times! I think It would need to have really heavy duty -and thus expensive- axles to cope momentary shock loads? In comparison the pulling tractor doesnt need to be so built so strong because it will spin when the loads get too high.Thats my probably-flawed thinking anyways. I see your other comment about the cart sometimes being 2.5x tractor weight.That's a lot😳!!! Given perfect traction, how steep a slope would the tractor pull it up?

I was told pulling from side of a bin bigger then 18’ could cause serious damage. But if you cut a hole, ur in a auger tube say 1/3 diameter of bin. That should be safe. Of course I put in a 6”. Which would be too slow for you. A 8” could be tough to set in. Plus I went thru door panel after putting a brace with self tapping screws. About 9:20 that sample spot. Get two angle irons +3” longer then width, going off 2” one side a inch on other, pound in, set with self tapper, cut 90% round hole in sections (I used grinder as I feared grain catching fire from torch) let cool. Have empty tube, rags, duct tape… 2 helpers. Cut rest, hold grain with hands, have tube inserted (without loosing fingers or thumb) angled slightly down. (Or grain will run out). ;). Have plate welded to tube a foot out, attach to bin, run flighting, power head, unload. Took about half hour to load semi
@larsharris Жыл бұрын
Your 2nd idea was very smart. The idea of holding a tube, filling with beans, line up a spring clamp? Let’s say I thought the odds of anything near success were low. But your idea of bolt/pivot. Very well thought out. The clean out area also makes sense. I bought another truck auger so I can be 95% ready on a 2nd bin at all times. Motor dies, auger breaks, plugs… just move to next bin. Plus grain cart @ half the size of that thing.
@engir63 Жыл бұрын
A Question, why wouldn't you have some kind of auger there to break stuff up? The hole seems like a good idea as it would be a pressure release like putting a small hole in the bottom of a can to release the suction.
