I previously made a build for the Sword of Night Katana but decided to create a better one, wanting more fluid gameplay. If you are looking for the best setup for the Sword of Night, the Darkedge Samurai Build is for you.

Kindly disregard Black Flame's Protection in this setup and keep your Faith Stat at 25. Flame Grant Me Strength and Black Flame's Protection overrides each other. It slipped my testing due to lack of sleep. Thank ya all!

Flame, Grant me Strength and Black Flame's Protection don't work together, since both are considered body buffs and you can only have 1 of each buff type(Body/Weapon/Aura). So casting Black Flame's protection after FGMS will override it.

After making this with some slight drip adjustment I also added Danes Blood Foot Work in the left hand next to the seal. You can then sheathe the Sword of the Night while you use them. Much like the “Fire Monk” build from DS3.

Have you tried this against dlc end boss? Curious how effective the charge up time would be when there’s little time for it

I couldn't deal with this weapon at all. The wind up on the ash of war is so long I could not figure out how to reliably land it. I am having a blast with Rellanas twinblades now though. I saw some people complaining about RTB but I love them

I wish I could show it and yes. People are furious about spoilers. But the thing is, this is the reason why I mentioned in my guide that your bread and butter attacks will be the regular L2, still hits hard anyways. In " his " fight it was so very tight. There were cases that I used a lot of regular attacks but there were cases that I can still throw a regular skill. Its a case to case basis.

black flames protection and flame grant me strength are both body buffs, so one will cancel the other. Can't buff with both at same time.

FGMS will cancel Blackflame Protection and vice versa since you can only have 1 body buff active

How many weapon styles are there in elden ring? Does each weapon have its own move set or are all kitanas the same moveset?

Man its does have so many weapon types. Katanas are just one. Mostly, Katana's can be differentiate by their properties and unique skills!

What exactly I need 40 arcane for? I didn’t understand that. Does it impact the katana bleeding even if it doesn’t have arcane scaling?

It's for the Bloodboon Incantation so you can hit at least with decent damage. However, for this build it's more of a gimmick. You can drop it and spread the allocated points to arcane to other stats. You still have the Claws of Night for range anyways.

The Arcane Scaling for this build is for the Bloodboon. If you want to concentrate on the Sword of Night, you can disregard this incantation and take the Arcane points to your other stats.

My character is a Wretch so adjust yours accordingly if you started on a different class. Since this is level 160, I suggest dropping Bloodboon as you do have the Claws of Night for main range attacks. Level 160 Stats Spread: VGR 50 MND 25 END 28 STR 11 DEX 75 INT 10 FAI 30 ARC 10

Cool katana but definitly not broken , the damage is descent but not OP since it take so long to fully charge....and the uncharged attack is meh.
