I had an issue with vtec not engaging on my rsx and I was diagnosing it by taking it to 7-7.5k and my LMA actually came out. Thankfully I got lucky and the spring wedged itself in between the seat and middle rocker arm and didn’t cause damage to anything else. The LMA hat was found in the baffle of the valve cover. Talk about being VERY lucky. The intermittent vtec was due to my speed sensor not being spaced out correctly (aftermarket gears).

I'm surprised you didn't take the oil pan off to check for debris.
@LHTPerformance2 жыл бұрын
We didn’t want to charge the customer something he could do, he’ll be doing it along with an oil change . It’s been running this way for a while so it wasn’t an immediate concern.

the fact they dynoed it and ran the same camshaft seem questionable asf

@@LHTPerformance I knew you couldn't put that cam back in. Not with the way you both care for these cars. That was a new one for me and some great knowledge thanks!

which wire do u plug in the test pen light to check for the vtec crossover
@LHTPerformance2 жыл бұрын
There’s only 1 wiring leading to the Vtec solenoid.
@LHTPerformance2 жыл бұрын
@Erikk Hyndman The VTEC solenoid has one wire. How can that be unclear lol. If there’s only one wire to choose from, how can you mix it up ?? How can this be complicated ? If this is as roulette, you couldn’t possibly loose …lol.

Were you able to find any of the needle bearing in the oil?

Nothing in the head. We advised the customer to drop the pan as he is mechanical and no sense paying us to do it.

We’ve seen a cracked roller once before. Nothing like this though.
