Meanwhile Amy threw him under the bus while he was already in a really dark place to begin with and trying to better himself. I love Amy as a musician but that was really shitty on her part.

Seether is actually a cool band. I don't remember you reacting to them but maybe i missed it - but i would have tried to persuade to react to a different song - such as "Remedy" - where you get a good sense of how talented the lead singer is - he is often compared to Kurt Cobain. So i hope you keep them on your radar for the future. They kind of came late to the "alternative" scene - and didn't get as much commercial success as if they had recorded in the 90's - but oh well - they still have a fan following. Anyway - thanks for your reactions.

The vocalist, Shaun Morgan, is from South Africa. If you hear him in interviews, his English accent is South African, similar-sounding to Elon Musk, also from South Africa. Shaun Morgan was a fan of the sound of grunge music making its way out of the Seattle area of the U.S., and so adopted a similar singing style to the music he loved.

When they did this song(it's actually a Seether song, there is a Seether version without Amy Lee) they were dating. When they broke up, she wrote a song about it, I believe called "Call Me When You're Sober". And Seether's song "Breakdown" was his response to her, although some contend it was not ENTIRELY about her. GREAT reaction as always. Keep it up you 2! \m/

The way i've always viewed this song is the first verse is him mourning a loved one dying in a painful way, possibly something like cancer, and his wish is that he could take their pain away and then they died or "gone away". Then Amy is playing that person from the otherside viewing him in mourning and wishing she could take his pain away from the otherside.

The song wasn't written or released as a duet originally. they reproduced their original disclaimer album, added a few songs and re-released it as "disclaimer ii". both albums are start to finish great. Way under estimated band and Shaun Morgan has some f'ing pipes!!! They have an unplugged performance you guys could check out.

Amy Lee has the voice of an angel, and Shaun Morgan has that sexy raspy voice, so cool. Also guys this song is on the Punisher soundtrack from 2004. In that movie the main character Frank Castle, a CIA operative has his wife, son, parents, siblings and inlaws brutally murdered by Howard Saint, an organized crime kingpin and Castle becomes the Punisher, a vigilante. The song is about how he misses his family and A y Lee's part is his wife's response from the afterlife

Seether originally from my home country🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 were known as Sarin Gas but changed it as it was a bit controversial. Lead singer and Amy had a stormy relationship. From what I gather he was into drink etc. Eventually they went their own way. She is amazing but I feel his band does not get enough credit. Great voice.

A more unusual Amy Lee collaboration is with Japan's Wagaki Band on the song Senbon Zakura (Ten thousand cherry blossoms). She only appears briefly near the end but there is an amazing musical experience before she comes on. Wagaki band combines modern (guitar, bass and drums) with traditional Japanese instruments and singing. They have shamisen (like a banjo), koto (horizontal harp), shakahashi (bamboo flute) and taiko (traditional drums). Mesmerizing

The duet version gave it a different lens but this is originally just a Seether song about his daughter which clearly gives it a different perspective. “Shaun Morgan wrote the song about the breakup of his marriage and family, after his wife chose to remain in South Africa with their daughter rather than accompany him to live in the United States.”

I have seen Seether many times, great guys too! This was a great rework of their original to add Amy Lee and it just took the song to another level! (Done when the two of them were dating!) Both Seether and Evanescence gave a great catalogue to check out! That being said you should check out Halestorm! When they toured with Seether Lzzy did this song with them and it was just as amazing, her vocals are fantastic. Check out Love bites, Dirty work, etc etc

From my understanding, I’m pretty sure that I had a Seether CD with just the lead singer singing this song. I think obviously, later they decided to make it a duet with Amy Lee. So technically, maybe it is a break up song, but they both sounded so good together, it almost doesn’t sound like it is a break up song. The lead singer to Seether and Amy Lee used to date way back in the day. I always thought they were a cute couple 💕

Candice Night, they duet on the chorus but trade lines in the verses and it sounds amazing. Plus it's an excuse to hear some Helloween :P
